If Gran Turismo 6 car list was actually future proof then why PD didn't simply convert these cars to GT Sport? They could act as some type of filler to the low car numbers. Considering that a large number of cars in the game are based on the GT6 versions so why not?

Seems the shadow cascading and LOD pop in issue is not limited to GTS. I've been watching PCARS 2 replays and the issue is much more apparent there during the replays. Seems like Forza is best at this.

Will GT Sport be on PS5? Because buying PS4 & PS5 will be considered madness.

I'm hoping if Sony are really going to come out with a PS5 in the rumored time-frame (2018-2020), they will make it backwards compatible with PS4 games. It'll be like a situation with the PS4 v. PS4P, where games work on both consoles, but one allows for a better visual experience (and maybe runs a little smoother).

The models can be used but they will need new sound recorded, maybe it's a hint why "at the end the car list would be 400-500".

And they'd apparently need to be completely scrapped and started from the ground up to be made into Super Premiums.

We'll need patience. Better be free if I buy the game day one.

As we watch an artist cleaning up the speedometer of a late 1970s Lamborghini Countach, the detail is mind-blowing. The company uses laser scanning of real cars (and race circuits) – including the virtual cockpits – to get everything right, then compares them side-by-side with photography to see if they measure up.

I don't see why 350+ cars through DLC should be free. That's a lot of work for them to take up, and if they can actually deliver, I'd be willing to support them through it as long as it's reasonably priced. I'd imagine they'd sprinkle in some free cars alongside the paid ones, but with that many vehicles they're expecting to make, that can end up being a pretty penny if you consider the $1 standard that floats around through different developers.

That's a nice little hint at a future DLC car to come 👍

If they are working on a Countach, they just have to be working on a Diablo!

It'd nice if they were free, but I don't mind paying for them either. I'm very interested to see what the post-release support will be like, considering the complaints about the inability deliver on PS3.

We also have 3 Ferrari 458's
And 4 Nissan GTR's. Nothing wrong with the duplicates but at least replace the gr.2 458 with a 488

What is a gr2 458? Never heard of it.
Anyway, 458 gt3 and 458 italia are not the same car. And they play in different classes to. A 2015 civic type r, and the newer 2017 civic type r, serve precisely the same purpose. If we have one, no need for another right away, when we miss a ton of other cars even for that class.
Replace the 458 gt3? Yeah, they scratch an asset that took months to create... to replace with something newer, that sounds worse, that 99% of the players would choose the 458 over it. Yes, replacing is not a good idea, not when it comes to replacing one of the best sounding modern gt3 cars.

Could use better example, yes. But imo he/she have a point to ask if it is not just sports/race cars that is only included in GTS, but how about regular/ordinary cars like Prius or Fiat which is some people like and prefer those cars being in GT series.

The thing is, cars like those don't sell games. In all the cars that need to be in the game to make it somewhat competitive with forza, a Prius is not one of them. It was nice to have those cars in previous gt games, but they were fulfilled with hundreds of cars that would satisfy pretty much everyone. This game though, we don't have that, not even close. No classics apart from one, no cars prior to 2007 or 2009.
We are missing a lot. Especially remarkable cars from each era. With this said, where does it fit a Prius and a normal Fiat 500? Would you choose one of those over a sportier 500 or a Supra, or the game changing M5 e60? I could mention many others, but that's beyond the point. How many new cars are we missing also?

Easy. If they aren't fast enough to be competitive in N100, throw them in Group X with the i3.

Because you know how the game works and what purpose serves the gr.x, right?
Gr.x eas already spotted with a bunch of vgts. This could mean it is a class for either prototypes/technology demonstrators, stock cars or a custom class.
Even if it is a throw away class, modeling those two cars just for the sake of doing so, makes no sense, taking into account how much time they take to model, and what could be modeled in their place that is actually desirable to almost everyone. With less than 200 cars, they shouldn't mess around by adding cars that will only be used by a handful of players.

The i3 could be for some sort of entry-level electric race series. After all, with the FIA partnership and BMW's strong presence in Formula E it doesn't seem too far fetched. I am actually terribly excited to drive the i3 in GT Sport, as my wife and I are considering getting one in a couple of years as our daily runabout. Though I would have preferred they model the i8 instead :P

I was just thinking about the BMW i3...

That can only mean that the i8 will surely come in the future, right? Why spend the time modeling an i3 when the i8 would be the car to go (also one of the most requested here on GTP)?

I might just be dreaming but I don't see (i'm aware of the argument from ignorance fallacy ^^) PD just ignoring the obvious fact that the i8 is the icon of the i brand and also a mark for hybrids within the hybrid super car market. Also, it would make for great racing series and liveries!

Remember all the cars that won awards throughout the years of the past games that we still have not seen nothing of? Are they also going to be in GTS?

Please post your source, that's some amazing news.
This news I posted was also present on GTplanet and later removed.

This I do not know, but surely there will be cars that have won the last SEMAs.

Sorry but if you have almost 9,000 messages and have you been on GTplanet for a long time how do you do not remember such a story? XD
The winning cars of the SEMA will be part of the Grand Tournament Awards where the winning car will have its digital version on a chapter of GT

So yeah, no evidence, just assumption. They might, and they might not, I'd suggest not using it as definitely(especially since you have no idea) as you're going to get people think this is happening.

I do if they sell a game as empty as this one for full game money. If on the other hand it was budget priced, or free to play, then they'd be justified in charging whatever rate they want for the DLC.

I'm sure we'll see free cars, but I'm willing to bet that the majority of it will still be paid, on the fact that that is literally so much more work for them. You're setting yourself up for disappoint thinking that way. I said it somewhere but if we see them at .50 and offer a good amount of free content, it'll bring price around $100-150. May be out of reach for some, but the good thing about DLC is that it's optional.

I think you should read the phrase "350 free cars" in your head again.

Besides, if PD were to make GTS a F2P game, and then charge for more cars, they'd probably be criticised for making people pay for competitive advantage.
