Pretty much everyone I know plays online on their PS4. I don't know anyone who doesn't, so I'm questioning the legitimacy of this claim.

Off by a couple of % points but there you go. Note that those figures for subs include all platforms though, not just PS4.

Yeah, well, that makes sense, because you're totally rational and all. That's not all that surprising really, considering you tell people not to judge GTS until it comes out, but you have made many judgments on many other games before they are out.

Considering that PS4 debuted underpowered and that smartphones come to double the price of an PS4 Pro there is no way that Sony will hold longer than two more years to PS4. Next PlayStation tech is already there it just needs to get cheaper to go under 399 as a complete box.

It released at a fair price point. Not in comparison to any other console, but in the minds of most people who were content, happy or over the moon when hearing it wasn't going to be as costly as the original PS3 (which included a blu-ray player).

That 599 by 2006 is not the same 599 today. I think I had to wait nearly two years before I could afford a PS3.

Ok. I'm trying to understand. A standard PS4 and the Pro are both unfairly priced? They are luxury items. What do you want? A year's supply of toilet paper would make me happy.

I just pre-ordered the digital deluxe edition and am looking forward to what the game has to offer.
I don't know very much since I never participated in the beta, hardly watched the trailers
or read the news so unless I get more involved before the release the game will be completely new to me
with much to learn. Maybe I'll see some of you on the track at some point.

Driving feels great even after the Beta just the numbers of tracks (that were already in GT5-6) and the car roster fall short.

I heard that PlayStation chap at GamesCom say that the PS4 is on track to outsell the PS2 - now that's impressive, the PS2 was a sales behemoth.

All of that bodes well for GT, perhaps. I, for one, bought the console purely for GT (a long time ago lol). Though I can't speak for anyone else...

It won't (PS2's run was insane). It should do 100+ so 2nd best PS console and top 3 of all time IIRC.

They have another 100 million to go to catch PS2. That would mean selling the same amount as last year for the next five years which I think is unlikely as Sony themselves are not expecting to sell as many this year and I can't see PS5 being 5 years away. PS2 was a phenomenon that we might not see the likes of again.

With 250$ and so many games I think it will do fine in coming years for sure. PS4P slim will also increase the numbers. If they have great games they can definitely double the numbers. I am sure GTS2 will release in few years.

How can you be sure there will be a GTS 2 this generation? If anything, I think they're going to treat GTS like a service. Not a service where we'll have to keep paying for every single thing, but one which will allow for growth.

I do wonder what DLC will cost us. Features, I think will definitely be free. I think tracks would be free while "special" cars shouldn't. I'm looking at this from a business perspective.

They will definitely add updates and add more content, features. But there will be a new game this gen for sure. If for some reason they take more than 3yrs then PS5 version will simply be 4K with many more cars on track. I am not sure how many people actually buy DLC. I know GT5 had more than a million but that was a exception. I guess it is may be 10% only.

As long as Sony is acquiescing another tardy release possibly, but I have my doubts they will renew a GT6/GTS schedule.

I think we won't see 'GTS2' this gen. Because the current code is said to be future proof it is likely compatible with the next console. Therefore, as said above, GTS could work as a service for a long time.

You have got a serious problem. Can you explain how saying that you don’t think the PS4 will sell as much as the phenomenon that was the PS2 and providing perfectly good reasons why is negative?

The reality of the world is not the bizarre, rose tinted way you want it to be. You would do well to stop moaning about other people’s opinions and attempt to discuss those opinions. That is what a discussion forum is. It is not the echo chamber you wish it to be.

I don't see how that's a sure thing at all. Another four years of development puts them squarely in the teeth of the PS5 release.

I think making another GT for PS4 at this point in the generation would be a mistake. In hindsight it wasn't a good idea on PS3, and it wouldn't be a good idea now. After GTS they'd be best concentrating on making a game to launch in the first year of PS5 release, preferably as a day one title.

They're off schedule at the moment, and they'd be better off getting themselves back on schedule for a release title and a mid-generation title. Otherwise we'll just see the same thing on PS5 where it takes 3+ years for Polyphony to even have a game on the system. A big part of the value of the GT franchise was as a system seller, and I think they'd do well to position their releases to take advantage of that (provided that the GT brand still holds enough sway to move hardware).

I fully agree on the out of sync argument, but I'd say the franchise can currently still push Sony's hardware rather well, if only from a PS4 Pro and 4K HDR displays perspective.

Some people said that the ps5 will come between 2018 and 2020. It's too short to make a New game. I think they will create a ps5 version of gt sport, like, what we have with Mario kart 8 (wii u and switch version) or the last of us (ps3 and ps4 version)

I don't need to prove COD is popular due to its online as anyone remotely even following the genre would see it. Publishers know it, streamers and youtubers know it and players know it.

I'm just sharing my opinion that I put together through observation,

I just listed the best selling games in recent years and they all focus on online. The top selling game this year is Ghost Recon Wildlands.

I didn't say the majority play online. I said the best selling games are mostly online focused. There's a difference in those statements.

Well its astounding in itself that the PS4 can sell on par with the best selling console of all time, all while being more profitable, and with more competition.

PS4 will not have the legs PS2 had: it sold 60 million after the release of PS3. I expect the PS5 to be BC as well.
