Super Premium? So they are already paving the way for more sub standard crap by saying that. They should change it to 'this gen', 'last gen' and 'gen before last' because that is the truth of it. It beggars belief that they have got away with it for the last two games. If they try and pull the same crap this time round it will be absolutely unforgivable.

The car count could actually be 100-150.

Turn10 had to start from scratch so I wouldn't be surprised if PD had too.

Except they didn't. The Giulietta Cloverleaf has numerous minor errors carried over from FM4, and has some really low poly areas of the dashboard. Then there's the Celica and its incorrect twin aerials, incorrectly modelled Action Package parts as stock with the real standard parts as optional aero parts...

Granted, it's not on the same level as Standard cars, but Turn 10 did lie about having to rebuild all their cars from scratch. That included cars released as DLC - essentially, they removed a load of content, claimed it all had to be rebuilt, then parcelled it up as paid for DLC, with some cars exhibiting the same known problems which one would think would not be made again from scratch.

On the Giulietta, the radio is wrong and awfully modelled, the ignition key is literally a rectangle, the gear stick and leather trim is a joke, the rear lights are wrong, the indicators are red instead of orange, the front bumper grille is wrong - and these were all problems in Forza 4, and the first thing I noticed in Forza 5 was that all of those things are still wrong. You can also tell that it's a dressed up FM4 port by the very limited Forzavista implementation.
 
Jesus, I don't view this thread for a whole 24 hours and there's 6 extra pages for me to read:P Most of it being about Facebook messages, the standard and premium issue and 4K. You people really are in desperate need of new info...

It could be worse, we could simply be reading people talk about it, and complaining as though we're above the current conversation even though we've previously taken part in it...

Same thing I did when I heard that. I mean seriously? It's becoming more and more obvious (that it already was) that it's some random dude behind the computer screen messing with GT fans because apparently PD just refuses to say anything, therefore is able to get away with it... *fasepalm*

"Super premium" doesn't really discredit the community guy behind facebook in any way. This manner of speaking isn't uncommon from various other game community managers interacting with fans on twitter.

Yeah, first thing I noticed the s2000 is still just a reworked model all the way from Forza 1 version too. They tried to fix the front end but the lower side panels and back end is still totally warped out of proportion.

No, but at this point it has no meaning either. It's meaningless PR speak that could mean anything and nothing. It's just another example of an answer that feels like an answer but actually says nothing.

A super premium is whatever Polyphony and Sony says it is, not whatever the fans want to think it is. But that reply hinges on the fact that the recipient will almost certainly assume that it means exactly what they want it to, and be satisfied.

I haven't read through the whole discussion, but it's pretty easy to see "super premium" just means all cars in GTS will be PS4 quality and there won't be standards. So what's the issue?

Yes, I assume that they'll have increased LOD etc in comparison to the PS3.

Fans take what they want from it like you did here. You have no idea what "super premium" means in reality, yet you've defined it.

The issue is that we got similar messages early on in GT5 and also in GT6, making assumptions about what PD mean by these terms can bite you.

They've done it before too. Just a road they either want to forget or they're like those hoarders you see on TV that just can never giv...I don't want to rickroll myself here so you get the point.

Here is what yamauchi said in an interview with GTPlanet a few days after the announcement oft GT6:

"We wont be making all the Standard cars from GT5 into Premium models, and we wont make all of the GT5s Standard cars fully 'Premiumized,'"

"Up until now, we used to categorize them as Standard and Premium because there were functional differences between them: some of the Standard models might not have tuning parts, or couldn't be used in Photo Mode. That will all be cleared so every model can be used in Photo Mode, and every car can have parts fitted for it."

"In terms of graphics quality, the bad quality Standard models weve updated so they look better."



So some people seem to have interpreted something to their wishes back then ;)

No they didn't, we're referring to what the official website stated at the time about GT6:

All available cars are displayed under their respective manufacturers. There are no longer distinctions made between Premium and Standard cars as in the previous version of GT, but Standard equivalent cars will only have simplified cockpit views.

Timewarp back to that point, without knowing what you now know, how would you positively interpret that? It says they will have simplified cockpits but no longer distinctions between them? You would surely positively take that to mean there are no other differences, wouldn't you?

This one is easy enough. It proposes the existence of objects that do meet the previously agreed definition of "Standard" (that they've removed the category).

But sure, if you feel the brevity of the sentence allows you to "positively interpret" other things, then what ron86 quoted, which is from May 2013 and yes, a GTPlanet interview, https://www.gtplanet.net/kazunori-yamauchi-on-gran-turismo-6-standardpremium-cars/ , should have helped you and others construct the full picture.

But I know users here are lazy. They don't even want to know how adjectives and superlatives work.
