Hi,

Fuel Map at two, always RH tires. Pit at the end of lap 8/16/24, refuel for 8 laps. Easy win, big gap to the pack.

Tried fuel map at 1 before, RH, pit at 6/12/18/24. Lead last lap, P2 close behind kicks me out three corners before finish line.

hth,
D.
I just used this strategy and had one hell of a race right to the wire only a car length in it to get the gold!!

I would at least try Sport mode first... I've mostly a great experience in it. Make sure to put up some qualifying laps and it'll surround you with people who match your pace. It's brilliant.

When you say try sport mode, you mean the daily rotating schedule screen that shows 3 races every hour? I did that BEFORE going in to a lobby. My SP rating is 'B' BTW. I used it to practice circuits that were not available in off-line mode. I did quite a few laps to qualify at 1) Suzuka small track and 2) the night time Tokyo track (I was misled by the daylight click bait for this! Thought it was the Tokyo circuit from days of old.).
Admittedly I didnt do 100 laps only about 10, but I know that Suzuka like the back of my hand... Squirrelly car but no excuses, got a few times all of which were 5 seconds slower than the top ten times showing in the roster. It didnt say if these were in THIS session or the actual top ten of all time.
I admit I gave up thinking it was for this qualifying. I ran times for all 3 events that were on screen and it showed my times for all of them on the screen with the race starts. Thought OK I can beat that time so went and tried. Did so by a second, came out and ALL the times I had set in qualifying were wiped, including the one I had just done! That night city track gave me horrible flashbacks to the endurance one in GT2. Didnt look ANY better either.
So I figured this. I already know I'm probably in the top 5% easy of GT dudes of all time from my experience completing the first 4 (Mission 34 US version yup!)
BUT....when it comes to competitive online racing I'm NOT of that standard. You guys are in the top 1%! I'm way too gentlemanly to pass another human being anyway (unless they broke down or crashed) but when it comes to AI cars that try to beat me...no holds barred.
I dont actually mind the losing if there's some good people in there..but then again I cant chat...cant use DS4 to type. Play thru speakers so headset wouldnt work,
I love the camaraderie in these forums between platforms and titles, we all have that in common.
I am basically 'Eddie The Eagle' here. Better than the public, bottom of the leader boards!
I'm going to have another go at Sport now. Not as a 'told you so' thing, but because I had a good experience online ONCE in the past. It was Pcars 1 formula 4 (sorry whatever its called in there) at Oulton park. Just the 2 of us. He was better than me but only by half a second, respect to him. After 5 laps (final lap) my rear caught on one of the bollard things at Knickerbrook and I lost a wheel. Dude was just ahead of me but stopped and reversed down and PUSHED me over the finish line as in Pcars 3 wheels and a powerful engine wont let you move an inch. It took us half an hour , you know where I'm talking about you will understand. Anyways like I said, I will try SPORT one more time, wherever I finish. Might as well with only a day left of the free demo to play!

Wait...are you saying those top ten times are THE top ten times, so I dont know who I'm qualifying against until after the race starts? How is that qualifying? OR do you do that again AFTER it starts? Will go check the manual again must have missed that on my last quick read.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I have to vent and this rant would x-post in many threads.

Ok so last night and tonight I decided to really get involved with the Demo version, I loved the beta and was really looking forward to this game. I just cancelled my pre-order and deleted the demo.

The game in its current state is not playable for racing at all. You can’t correct mistakes, not even a little… like I’ve tried to alter the way I drive, the settings and assists to make sure that it’s hard without being silly… but it’s ridiculous… the game is unplayable for racing… you know, the whole damn point of this game!!

I can’t play GTS anymore, there are so many other sim-like racing games on the market and while GTS is pretty well featured but the inputs are so delayed its insane

This is most apparent when going from the silly Aston GT thing in the level 6 trails and then the 30 laps of hell trying and paying that the backend doesn’t step out… if you’re in cockpit mode you can see exactly what the problem is… driving the Aston GT the inputs seem fast and responsive, go to the GT3 car and they just seemed to have slowed down the animations to match the slower speed of the car, it’s like the animations are on x.5 speed. I would post video (as I had of the beta, but for some reason I can't upload youtube videos after the lastest PS4 patch).

I might come back to this game next year… but I’m so done for now.
My experience was quite different. I was skeptical about GTSport, but was pleasantly surprised at the driving experience. Only played a few hours, a couple online races, all the license tests available, some missions, etc. I thought the rally racing was phenomenal. Throwing the car sideways and sliding trough the corners was great. I found cars to be correctable when the back end steps out. Honesty, I was just impressed at how good the cars felt in stock form. I use a Thrustmaster T300 wheel and drive in cockpit view. My only complaints would be the lack of ability to adjust the seat position in cockpit view, the clutch doesn't work realistically, and I'd love to see keyboard mapping support added for button box use.

Hey you can adjust the seat during the race.. Can even do it online as ai drives your car while you do it. Go to options at bottom advantaced then pick cockpit view. You can move forward and back 5 clicks and up and down 5 clicks. Seems to remember the settings you make for each car too.

Oh wow! Thanks so much, man! I looked around a bit but couldn't find anything like this. That'll help a ton. :D:tup:

This I assume is another marketing tactic by PD and Sony.

But I have to wonder, why didn't they attach a camera to the front bumper of the car and have it output to a screen attached to a table of even the controller?

Hi guys,

I just got my 4k tv fixed. I can't change the display settings to prioritize picture quality from what I currently have it set to "prioritize frame rate". Anyone know how I can change this?

I've tried deleting user settings, readjusting the visual output and what not. It's just locked right now.

Thanks in advance

I saw the option in the settings menu accessed from the main menu somewhere, probably in display settings. Hope that helps.

So I try out Sport mode ..thinking I know how you can cheat at this (more later) but didnt.
Gave it my best shot. Was placed 5th on the grid out of 24. My time 1:47 leader was 1:43. Worst was 1:56 (hmmm)
Start off clean..but leopards and spots huh? Turn 3 had me shunted off down to 12th by 5 people behind me.
Gained a place by last bend..shunted off now 16th.
Next lap gained few places got up to 12th again. 10 ahead of me pushing hard and FAST.
Qualifying cheating has occurred for sure as I suspected.
End of 2nd lap side shunted off into the dirt.
Last lap I'm in 12th again...final straight on inside barrier to my left. Dude takes that line. Only way he can do it is to shunt me over int right wall, which her does without a second thought. I finish 13th in the end. The top 10 finishers had times that equaled out to 5 seconds faster than their fake qualifying times.
Only 1 more day to go with this punishment but I keep telling myself its free!
So if you want to cheat and win easy Sport races you just have to put in a lousy qualifying time, Like 10 seconds below your best so they dont suspect, then get placed half way down in the race, or even last cos who cares you gonna shunt anyway aint ya?
Then after it kicks off...wait for the others to blow the whistle then push through the scrum avoiding others if possible,,,but like sorry mate aint my fault it was that geezer in the Vette! You will now be in to 7 or so who assuming only half of those have cheated as well in the same way you have then up for a good podium shot. Or if you got lucky and it was a field of rubes then it's easy first and back to the manor to spend your winnings on the ladies.

The only worthwhile online race is a prearranged one with friends IMO.
Anyone surprised that the GT Sport logo at the VERY START OF THE GAME is a driver with his fists up for a fight?!?! well DUH!!
:/

Is that the Gr.1 race? You can easily put up a faster time than your qualifying due to drafting other drivers. I managed 2-3 seconds because of this. Some of the Vision GT cars have a high top end so they can go beyond an LMP1 (if that's what you were driving) when it comes to straight line speed.

Nope Group 4 Interlagos - nowhere to draft there? I was using my pink Corvette :D

Is anyone having issues saving the game? Did I miss something?

If it helps any, I completed the 5 courses in arcade (Professional only which gave me Beginner and Intermediate), the 8 stages in driving school, All of area 1 and 6-1 to 7 in Mission and all three courses in Circuit Experience (all gold). Had over 750,000 credits, 2000+ mileage points and 5 cars (starter car, daily cars 10/10 and 10/11, and two prize cars)

I 've lost all but the 5 cars, have one arcade race completed and about 182,000 credits. All because of this online saving thing. I did have a back up on a USB drive which I copied over my bad save.... and kept losing accomplishments and winnings. So I've stopped loading the game to salvage what I can. It will load a bad save but not save a good save:dunce:. The auto online save icon on the bottom pops up and goes away, but doing an manual save shows a message saying can not connect to server and to check my connection.

At least I get a laugh getting the same daily car every time I load the game up, even though I have said car. (Peugeot 208 GTi)

Can anyone point me to the option to disable the auto track reset function??

I'm aware it's not truly a sim, but if I bugger up I want to get back on track myself!

After driving the Porsche 919 in the Gr1 race today, I can see why it cracked a 3:16 in 2015. Even if the car is the 2016.

Seriously the way it handles those s bends? Freaking nuts.

Starting 1st and seeing 10 cars fly past you before the first corner is nooo fun!

How is it cheating in qualifying to go slower than you actually are?

Does completing the Daily races in Sport Mode give you anything other than Credits? I have completed two of them and I'm waiting to do the other.

Yep, the game will ask you when you start it for the first time if you want the use X Square, R2 L2, or R3 for gas and braking. You're able to change these settings anytime in the options menu.
Thank **** for that

Because the game will then 'match' you to players whose best times equal your fake low time (unless they post low times too deliberately). Meaning it's not a fair match at all and the race is stacked in your favor as you will race 5/10 secs better per lap and get wins against lower opposition than you fairly should be getting. IF your rating in game is NOT based on wins/places but just TIMES then no you won't benefit directly, but will have a better chance at those too as you will be ahead of the pack with a clear track ahead. Also with a less competitive race and a clear track ahead your sportsmanship wont have to worry so much about being rammed....
