What corner is this?

gtr_nyias_2016.mp4_snvrp0g.png
I'm struggling on this one, not many corners are fully wooded like that and not many left hand turns have an entry curb on the outside. It's not Breidscheid, there are no trees there. Not the Lauda kink, no outside kerb. Not Mutkurve, no hillside.

The turn before Hohe Acht sort of matches in the geography but the outside kerb isn't that big, nor with that profile. Nothing else comes close, based on watching a chase cam YT video.

I'd personally be inclined to say it's not the Ring or if it is it's either in reverse for some reason or it's part of the track that has seen big changes both in reality and the GT model.

Obviously not Brands since all of the turns out back in the trees are all right handers except for Stirlings and it's not there, totally wrong.

I have to say, it is pretty bad we are all trying to examine a 5 second piece of footage. It may not even be Gran Turismo at all, it could be a driving level of Half Life 3.

Wearing a Gran Turismo helmet? No, it's obviously GT of some sort, whether gameplay, replay, render or whatever.

Here are some more stills from the video:

Most shots certainly have a general look of the ring except the already identified Brands corner, but finding exact matches are not easy so far.

...Just came away reading about Eurogamer's article on PS4K; apparently it's not a feverish pipe dream of a fanboy but an actual, functional prototype in the hands of a few development studios already.

I wonder if GT:S is somehow tied to this as-yet unannounced machine. Yikes.

And here I was, saying in another thread that Sony wouldn't do stuff like this...

Edit: here's the link:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/d...ystation-4k-is-real-but-why-is-sony-making-it

And I've made a mistake - it's not the game devs, but Sony's R&D guys. Oops.

None of the images are showing.

Edit: Nevermind, now they are.

Could it be the left-hander after the third tunnel at a redone Deep Forest Reverse? The high level of vegetation reminds me of PD's original tracks, and the road width and the curb placement seem to match fairly well.

That looks pretty close. It may be it, not sure.

Yep. I speculate the topic in my YouTube video found also in this thread a couple of posts ago.
It seems they wan't to impress the big audience with a glorious GTS VR entrée.

Deep forest hasn't got that style of fence, Nurb does

It is like, every day, I check Google news about Gran Turismo 7 or sport. No news. Then I see a new Forza coming out. Again, with each passing day and new racing simulator coming out, Gran Turismo is withering into irrelevancy. While I agree it is better to have a feature complete, bug-less free game. There is a fine line between taking a few years to create a solid game, and taking too many years, releasing a good game, but is trounced immediately by the competition. Forza is pretty good, but I couldn't bear to buy a Xbox One. I like Gran Turismo 6, but I have over played it. Polyphony needs to shift into high gear and start working toward releasing Gran Turismo 7 soon.
The reason why PD takes their time to make a new game (This case it's Gran Turismo Sport, not 7), is because they take time to put alot of cars into the game. Games like Forza or Project Cars doesn't put alot of cars into the game, they come out with an unfinished game, which they put DLC's in (Which i personally don't like). Yes, Gran Turismo 6 was an unfinished game, but they didn't put a **** ton of DLC's in, like Forza and Project Cars. *NOTE* This is not to critisize Forza or Project Cars. I happen to like and play Project Cars. I don't mind Forza, but can't say it's good or not, because i don't play it.

This is a joke, surely? They spent 5 years and put only ~200 new cars in GT5. They spent another 3 years and put ~90 new cars in GT6, with some DLC cars for both. There might have been more cars overall in both games but they didn't take any time, they were already done for GT4 in 2004. They just touched a minority up.

pCARS might have only had 85 or so cars at launch but they were also a much smaller studio operating on a minuscule budget in comparison to PD.

Not sure how many cars Forza added to each game, I've not played one since 3.

Yeah but Forza is putting content into the game that people actually want, and in good amounts worth paying for..

I've gladly paid for all the additional cars in FM6, and had GT6 eschewed fantasy cars for a consistent DLC schedule of real life cars at a similar ratio of road:race, I would've gladly given PD money for it, too.

FM6 also launched with 460 cars all up to current-gen standards. While that's less than half of GT6's total, it's more than the Premium count, and has since expanded to over 525. I have a hard time believing someone would look at the full list and consider it a disappointment, but hey, everyone has different tastes.

FM6 launched with all the features promised on the box on Day 1. GT6 didn't. That'd make the latter incomplete if you ask me. Optional extras, like car packs that have no impact on game progression, are a very different thing than features being absent from the game for over a year.

Between Forza 5 and 6, 200~ where introduced. There was a supposed rework of vehicles, how much of that is true is uncertain. Putting that aside and ignoring that, though, within 6 months since FM6 of being out, I believe 63 vehicles have been introduced with another dlc pack coming in April apparently. After that is uncertain, but support after the initial 6 month car pass has happened in the past.

It should be noted, that while GT does offer their DLC for free, it is also far and few inbetween. Forza has released more free cars than GT has to this point.

I guess that he's mad at Forza having on disc DLC

Source?

As someone who had early access to the game for review purposes, the only way I could access any of the DLC was by downloading typically-sized packs. If it had been shipped on-disc, a small <1mb unlock download would've been all that was needed.

It's not Deep Forest, the gradient and camber don't match.
Unless it's a reworked PS4 level Deep Forest. Then anything is possible.

Bears repeating and something GT fans always fail to mention. Forza also has free content + a wealth of optional paid DLC. They are introducing completely next gen cars at a huge rate as well, putting PD's output pace of the last 10 years to shame really.

Which has also been the case with Project Cars as well, with a free car each month, and paID dlc alternating between car and track packs (which also have cars) every month and free livery packs every few months. All of which has been very reasonably priced.

It is possible to create a high quality game, and develop it in a timely manner like Forza for instance. Gran Turismo 3 took 2-3 years to be released, and look how great that was. Then 4 years later Gran Turismo 4 came out, and that was amazing also.

I think if there was something to blame for the 6 year period for GT5, it was the PS3's processor, which was a very complicated processor to develop. Then, GT6 came out 3 years later, which was great. Now that the PS4 is a kind of regular computer processor, development of GT7 should be quicker, I would assume.

Just one question, how much would it cost to buy forza 6 (or 5) and all dlc packs?

(And the fact that they are so fast with modelling the cars is because they outsourced that, which isnt a bad thing for the player, but PD wont do that because of their japanese view of things (which is also understandable))

The Forza 6 Ultimate edition was 100$ that came with the car pass and other extra's. Actualy, the Deluxe edition is a better bet if you're just interested in the car pass with the game, and that's at 80$, setting the pass as 20$ basically. Season pass alone is about 30$, buying the packs separatly is 7$. You can buy them all one at a time for 42$, or you can buy the car pass for 30$ which is the best option.

The problem is that one chose a method that would be the most efficient, the other chose to stick to a method that isn't. For some reason people see that as a wrong for one, but not the other.
