Yup, the intro is impressive, especially where it transitioned from the historical snippets to the modern scenario. The audio visuals and rich colour are absolutely amazing. I watched the whole thing and was captivated.
Following that, the game menu tabs etc really look state of the art. GTsport came good.
 
Anyone one else having problem with the servers at the moment? Finally managed to leave work early so I can put some hours today and I can't do a damn thing because there are problems with servers and such!

That "everything online" crap is getting old already!
 
Just getting a chance to really play the game for the first time since launch... And what do you know? Server maintenance, can't connect. This is a pain in the you know what.

And of course I've completed content, garbage start and stop beginner content, that will not be saved and I will have to repeat.

Not impressed!

The error message presented by PD suggests to go to www.gran-turismo.com for more details. I poked around and couldn't find any section on current network status. Anyone know where on that huge website one should look?
 
Yesterday everything went fine, no problems at all..... for me it’s one of the best gt...... also was thinking it’s not a problem with the online thing, but now I feel the first time bad. Even the livery editor is not working when the server is down....I don’t like this....you can play arcade, but made no sense if you can’t save....

Mission Challenge progress doesn't carry over. That'd be from scratch, then: it's not that hard, I'd say it's anywhere from 6–8 hours if you're a good player. I've done Stages 3 through 8 twice now; once during the review period, but my save got lost with the server downtime.

I don't suppose you'd know this though it'd be great if you did: as the servers are currently down, would anything I earn from arcade races in the meantime be erased once the servers are back up?
 
I just finished a livery with 235+ layers and now i get this server maintenance message. When i try to apply it. The save message is successful i just cant apply it, does that mean the livery is saved locally?
 
No one can be "Welcomed to the World of Gran Truismo" if the servers are down. Worked fine yesterday, and now no file saves. If other multiplayer games can survive, why is this such a problem for GTS?
 
Been seeing some talking about servers being down during the day and not being able to make a timely save. That's a bummer.
I've been on the game since early this morning through most of the day and I haven't experienced any server down issues. Must be lucky I guess.

From my understanding, anything you do from the moment the game loses connection to the servers can be saved at a later point (once they're back online) provided you don't quit the application. Don't quote me on that though; it may have happened to me once during the review period, but I'm not entirely sure.

To be safe, I'd recommend not quitting the game until it can reconnect.

I hope that's true, since I just finished a license test that took a lot of tries. Finally got gold, but the servers went down just as I finished. I assume this would supposedly apply to this?

This is what I'm wondering too! I have finished a livery and gone to save and got the server maintenance message.
I did once get a save successful message but am still getting the maintenance one every time too.
I don't know if the livery work is going to be lost unless I sit here trying to reconnect!
There really needs to be an option to save work locally when servers go offline.

Only being able to save online is a major design flaw IMO.

Thanks for the info, I'll let you know if it works out as such, which if it does will make regular server downtime a whole lot more acceptable for a lot of us.

Eh, I don't think requiring a constant connection to servers for all offline content is particularly acceptable. It also means you can't play any other games on the PS4 until the servers come back up.

You're right of course, I'm speaking from the very forgiving and optimistic perspective of a GT fanboy whose new GT game that he needs to play.

In all seriousness however, if the servers aren't absolutely solid after a week or two this could get very old.

Severs down for maintainence here too, wanted to play for a little bit more but it can wait till tomorrow.

Enjoyed it so far generally speaking, done over 50% of driving school, about 40% of campaign and a little bit of the circuit experience, mostly golds but there are a few silvers in there. haven't bought a car yet as I'm just getting prize ones.

Still the issue over my missing 500k credits though..
 
Having confirmed that running a replay (after a Time Trial in this instance) will repair your car, I was wondering about painting as a damaged car is still damaged after painting.

Not really related to the damage, but it would be nice to be able to paint a car in one of the manufacturers colours rather than relying in the palette of colours. Am I the only one that would like to repaint a stock prize car into a genuine manufacturers colour other than the default you are given?

I tried the Livery Editor and I must say that other racing games with a similar option do it a lot better.
 
Could anyone who has lower than 53.000 on the Suzuka East daily race post a video of their lap? Because I'm sitting at a 53.297 and I can't even fathom how people are over a second faster than that
