Compact's have the same tho, should've said that :D

I couldn't find any setup yet that gets at least a little bit rid of the odd oversteer behaviour the car has on turn exits, not even the Alpine or Porsche with their RR layout are as snappy :boggled:

It's a front engined, rear wheel drive car, with (relatively) poorly secured rear suspension... of course it's going to oversteer.

The only time I find the M3 to be 'difficult' is in higher speed corners, where it can snap if you get on the gas hard... but that's momentum oversteer, easily caught, and just part of the fun :)

911's... I've had a 911 (996) for the past 10 years/120k miles, and have driven most variants from a 964C2 to a 991GT3... their primary handling trait is understeer. 911's typically have amazing exit traction, and it takes some effort to get them to oversteer.

GT6 told a different story

I guess I'll just have to adapt my driving style to it, it's not a Gr.3/4 car after all :dunce:

Lot of misunderstanding about 911's... You can use the weight at the rear to make them oversteer, but predominately, they understeer. In GT6, the Yellowbird handling was truly rubbish, but the RGT was lovely to drive.

I'm not a fan of the handling of most road cars in GTS... and the tyre model is complete junk... I was running the daily RX7 qualifying at Maggione on Saturday... a c.200bhp car, on SH tyres (semi slick track day tyres), which would spin up endlessly in 1st and 2nd gear, and oversteer wildly in 3rd with any lock applied... poor!

Have you noticed any recent handling issues with the GR3 Porsche? I was running laps on Interlagos and the understeer seemed more than normal. Usually I can easily get a nice deep trail brake pivot into turn one, but the damn thing wasn't doing it last night. I don't know if my settings got screwed up or if they changed something.

Not the Yellowbird hate. I had a blast with it, the control in the oversteer was pretty awesome. You could always push it past the edge and reel it back in... until you started upgrading it and stabilizing it, then it would exaggerate the whip back after the oversteer and turn every tough corner into a game of Russian roulette.

It's been a while since I ran the RSR at Interlagos, but if there have been any changes to it since last time I ran it they must have been minor as I was very close to my best lap there (1'31.004 vs 1'30.858). Turn 1 did seem to require an earlier turn in than I remember to make the apex... if I tried a higher line with later turn in, I struggled to get it right to the kerbing on the left... but that's probably just my memory.

It's a car you absolutely have to trail brake or it doesn't turn... What brake balance do you use? I'm either -1 or -2 (front), depending on the track.

Not hate - I enjoyed driving it - but the amount of entry oversteer was completely over the top, and completely unrealistic

I'm clueless with the brake balance and actually have it set to -1 (rear). That's probably the issue. I think I was just blindly matching my Caymen preferences,

Help!
I need help exporting GTS photos to my usb stick.
I go to my library, scapes photos bla bla bla and I successfully exported 2 pics I wanted into my usb stick.
Now I'm on my pc and nothing is there.

I set my E30 with suspension as low as it can go, anti-roll bars to max stiffness, all dampers to the left, camber -5F/-4R, Fully Custom Ditf stock settings, Fully Custom transmission only adjusting 1st gear to 110kmh(Slow at standing starts, but great for 1st gear corners), SS -RSS tires.

In stock form the E30 is a mess of oversteer. Oversteer on corner entry, oversteer on corner exit, oversteer on a steady half-throttle... pretty much the only time it doesn't oversteer is when you lift off on turn-in, oddly enough. I've not driven one in real life so can't compare, but everything I've ever read about it does not suggest this is realistic.

If that gets some attention from the patch, super, but I'd actually be more happy with the sound glitch being fixed first. It's ruining my ability to gauge how much traction is left.

I haven't encountered the sound glitch yet, but I agree, that should have the priority.
If they won't take care of the M3 handling, well, I can always fire up Assetto Corsa and enjoy it there.

I have been hosting Sport for a week now ( I hosted my GT6 room until the very end). Here are some initial thoughts about the game from this host's perspective.

I won't go into the bugs here. I will just say, of the seven nights I've hosted, only two were bug free. 28.6% score for you PD. I have been told by GT Sport early adopters that the game was nearly bug free before the last update.

The worst part of hosting in Sport is the lack of a race timer. GT5 started with no timer, but they added it pretty quickly. Kaz, gimme a timer!

The chat box (mics are disabled in my room) is constantly being spammed with auto messages . If I want to say hi, or gr after a race, I will say it. Now I know I can blank out all of those fields for me, but very few people do that, so at the end of every race the chat box is spammed, then the drivers add their comments.

Also, I used to make room announcements right before the start of the race because they would show up while racers were sitting in the car, where everyone could see it, just before start. Now you don't see the chat box before the race starts.

What I do like about the new chat box, is that you can click on it and scroll up, and read what you have missed without it bouncing back down to the bottom all the time.

On the other side of the screen, the room holds 16 people, but the list only shows 14, you have to click on a name and scroll down to see the last 2 people. Even though the font is smaller than in GT6, the boxes the names are in, are bigger. I see no point in this at all. And why the hell is the room in a box that doesn't fill the whole screen? Maybe if it filled the whole screen, we could see everyone in the room. Just stupid.

The list also doesn't show if the person is tuning or hunting through the garage. All it shows is if they are on or off the track. And you have to push a button to see what car they are in.

And speaking of what car they are in, now there is at least one race car listed as an N car. I run a street legal only room (except for the RSS tires). So now I can't just glance up and see the new 'spoon civic', I have to push a button to see it. At least in GT5, the list switched back and forth, from car to driver, when they were on the track

Monday night I kicked an innocent man. I clicked on the backwards driving culprit and a dropdown menu popped up. The instant before I clicked on boot, his name moved on the list because someone got on track, and the popup menu switched from the culprit to another person. I never clicked on that person, I clicked on the person i wanted to kick. But that innocent person was kicked instead.

I am new to Sport. I got my copy the day the GT6 servers shut down.

In GT5/6, if you two-wheeled in an online room, you were the only one who saw it. The other players just saw you sliding.

Now comes GT Sport. My car tipped over tonight. It was a slow process. I kept waiting for the tip limiter to catch me but it never did. One guy in the room said I looked like a tipped cow.

Has there been any word or speculation on how many more cars and tracks (if any) we may be getting
There's the Audi e-tron Vision GT coming next Monday and the Gazoo Racing Supra, which will be part of the April Update ("You will be able to experience its performance very soon, so please look forward to the April update of Gran Turismo Sport"). Then there are a few more cars already confirmed for GT Sport (like Forsberg's NOS 370Z) and all the SEMA Awards winners*, but no ETA for them.

*
  • Chevrolet Camaro Rampage '70 (SEMA Award 2014)
  • Datsun 240Z Fugu Z '73 (SEMA Award 2015)
  • Bruce Levens' Ford Coupè '51 (SEMA Award 2016)
  • Phil Robles' Honda Civic EX '92 (SEMA Award 2017)

I believe the Ferrari Dino was spotted in early GTS Scape screens, and some additional specific Lamborghini models (that weren't yet in the game) were spotted in the credits. There was also the bugged menu with a '91 NSX posted somewhere, so those could be added up if the screens are to be believed. Then in addition to the SEMA cars there's also Peddle Beach winners that are supposed to be showing up at some point in GT's future, whether or not it happens in GT Sport remains to be seen though.

Also on the track side we have confirmation of Deep Forest being in development but no ETA. Other tracks that have been in some way alluded to include Le Mans (scapes since day one and in fairly early promotional material), Autopolis (behind-the-scenes shots of PD headquarters showed early development/debug versions of the circuit before GTS's launch), Barcelona (A GTS esports event is being hosted at the circuit during a real 24hr race in September), and Seattle (the name appeared by mistake at the Copperbox unveiling event), as well as additional layouts to several of the GT-originals - however, none of these are officially confirmed to be under development for GT Sport. Le Mans is likely given the scapes (and therefore likely PD's scanning team for the location), and Autopolis has actual footage available, but we have no idea if the assets were scrapped or if licensing issues have come up since it's 2016 "leak". There's no confirmation for any new layouts to be added to the existing circuits, but someone found "secret" Kyoto layouts hidden on the GTS website, infield layouts of Northern Isle are already available in the campaign mode, and people have been theorizing about a few potential connecting roads on Alsace.

There's also Pikes Peak, which is mentioned in the credits along with several key people who organize/manage the race and the location. Speaking of circuits, Kaz said they were making arrangements to include Shangai in 2016 (https://www.gtplanet.net/shanghai-international-circuit-coming-to-gt-sport/). About the IP notice, Lancia and FIAT are also included together with the Lamborghini models you mentioned (Diablo GT2, GT1, Reventon, LP670 etc.). But all of this is speculation at the moment.

La Sarthe (Le Mans Circuit) was appeared in Bugatti VGT reveal trailer. At that time GTS was still under development and the course itself seems had slightly improved rendering graphics from the GT6 version which might had speculation being the early build of the track :

Then there is Toyota trailer featuring Kazuki Nakajima playing through the circuit but the gameplay was disguised with placeholder HUD :

Also, this month marks the start of WEC season. The track will likely dropped in matter of time if PD want to use it as intention to add La Sarthe, just like the addition of GT500 which coincide with Super GT season opener this week.

I believe at the time they were still using GT6 engine in both the Bugatti VGT promo and the Toyota Barista video. If you take a closer look at the skybox and the trees in the Bugatti promo and compare it while driving La Sarthe in GT6 with time transition and you can notify the same skybox.
For the Toyota promo it is debatable.

Although I believe La Sarthe is still a work in progress to come in the future for GT Sport (In the video of the Bugatti vision GT the man clearly said what better track to play it on than Le Mans, and the Bugatti is only playable in GT Sport).

Ofcourse you could say the Bugatti VGT was originally planned for GT6 but due to reasons it has been postponed to GT Sport.

That aside it also would not make sense (IMO) to put so many Le Mans scapes in GT Sport while the track itself is not featured.

Also iirc the Bug VGT and Hyundai VGT were actually in GT6 (they had a GT6 demo for the cars I think) so yeah they might have been using the GT6 engine for that

I agreed with what you said too. Most obvious evidence is the Scapes for sure. By the way, I have a hunch that it will likely dropped together with the start of WEC season. But, who knows this is PD we are talking about and my prediction could miss. Let's see what they give for this month DLC shall we?
