So PD have all these graphical innovations to show off, but what about innovations in sound? If they put the same amount of effort into that as they put into graphics, who knows where we could be right now. Yes they have made large strides with car sounds but work still needs to be done. PD don't have anything left to prove with their graphics.
Honestly, the way cars sound right now doesn't bother me. Yes, there is room for improvement, but it's good enough for me.

I've been playing GT since 1997 and the sounds have improved a lot. They're obviously not on a Codemasters level but in general they're good.

Just listen to this GTR in this video. To me it sounds very similar in-game using cockpit cam.

Oh boy.. So they also seem not satisfied with how this game went at all. It looks like I'm getting hyped up. Time to save up for this new gen console.

https://comicbook.com/gaming/amp/2018/12/30/gran-turismo-7-real-time-ray-tracing-playstation-5/

That article is filled with errors and actually just made up a bunch of stuff. Ray-tracing isn't confirmed for GT7 or PS5. Polyphony never said in their presentation they're unsatisfied with how GTSport went on PS4, they did the best they could with GTSport in an attempt to reach ray-trace level graphics by using massive amounts of pre-baked lighting data. Polyphony also never said they're working on a new engine. No one creates a brand new engine completely from scratch at this point, they modify an existing one and improve on it. You can modify any modern engine to utilize ray-tracing. PD already created their own in-house path tracer to create the ray-traced baked light maps used for GTSport.

Oh is that so? I'm sad about that but still, I'd wait for the new gen console and the new GT for it though it may still be a few years from now.

Remember when PD made a big thing about KW Supensions helping them with suspension tuning. Wonder if they're still partnered up or just dealing directly with the car manufacturers.

Trying to remember who was helping with the tyre model.

Interesting video about tyres. Info many of us know, but still good to watch. Came out around same time of GT Sport.

KW wouldnt be big enough these days.

With GT being so big these days with the big time partnerships it'd be... Bilstein.

Or maybe Tein being Japanese.

KW are pretty big with supplying Touring car suspensions. Think they sponsor(ed) VLN(?) as well. Plus, 2013 isn't that far away, for them to be a major sponsor in Gran Turismo 6.

Whhhhhhhhhat?????? Like what are you saying? & 2013?

Funny

KW Not Big enough for Gran Turismo

lol good chuckle

KW is BiG but beyond that, they make incredibly high quality suspension components, they are already partnered up with with Gran Turismo for suspension frequency logging & developing the suspension characteristics in the game all of a sudden we are tuning springs with frequency vs spring rates ;) The probability KW didn't have a hand in that is very very low....

The partnership for tire characteristic development is Yokohoma

Take a breath and read it again. 2013 is when GT6 came out. That's when we found out PD had KW to help with in game suspension tuning.

The comment by TonyJZX was illuding to KW not being big today. I replied 2013 wasn't that far away from 2017(GTS debut), for KW not to be big enough in between that time.

Good info. That must explain the 0.60 toe on every car.

I have no opinion on KW either way... they just aint a household name, nor is it a brand I can pick up from many locals here.

I myself quite like KYB but they arent a household name either but someone like Bilstein...

As I said before they tie in with many brands that many people may not have much knowledge of but these days with things like the Heuer partnership... seems a bit weird there's no more in game showings.

I don't understand what you mean by not a "household name" this is KW we are taking about... One of the worlds best, and nowadays what you get from locals is not really relevant since you can shop online ;) Do you mean because YOU are not familiar with them so they must not be well known??

KW is a Known name for guys modding tuning and racing cars, leave the wife at home with Household names lol see what I did there? lol

KW is the tits but $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ they ain't cheap. In the Euro scene they are very very well known and the go to for many Porsche Mercs & Beemers, High end stuff... Not sure if they make stuff for Civics and Elantras lol

Bilstein are a more accessible brand, more will have them and sure as heck gonna fan boi if they didn't have the loot for more expensive options ;) cuz everybody a Baller lol

I sort of feel like your 'argument' is made stronger when you belittle Asian marques when this game is full of them. Your latest sexism about your "wife at home" says quite a lot about your thinking. Females not allowed to participate in motorsport?

Good luck on travels in your future support for KW! Must be good dollars in it.

I only note Bilstein is a brand on just about every race car out there. I thought that would be obvious but hey, every company needs someones support I guess.

No they are more helping develop the spring frequency dynamics vs factory wheel alignments.. Translating how the springs behave in real world into the game without the need to measure suspension components for stuff like leverage factors etc.

Hmmmm why oh why them not Bilstein eh not a household name eh

It probably has something to do with the KW 7 post Rig lol We are talking F1 technology going into the development of KW suspension components ;) Who better to go into kahoots with PD ;) but the guys able to put cars on the RiG and fine tune springs behavior..... It was a new partnership in GT6 now in GTSport we feel the fruits of the partnership when you drive the cars in the game.....

lmfao not Big Enough for Gran Turismo

another good chuckle

I'm not sure if it was changed in an update or if I change the settings. But before when the game sat idle, after a while a race would start. It seemed like a random race set by the game. Now it just flips through all the trivia and car scapes. I was wondering if there was a way to get that back?

There was a news on a Gearnuke website saying that Polyphony Digital opened a new studio. Proceed?

Correct, it's Ueno studio in Japan. (Third Studios in Japan)

PD have 5 studio now: Tokyo, Fukuoka, Amsterdam, Los Angles and lastest in Ueno.

Another studio at Fukuoka opened in April 2018? (more pics on IG)

It was there a few hours ago. He just deleted the post for some reasons. I respect his choice.

Some pictures from April 2018 at Fukuoka with the caption: "Ready for open our new studio!!".
You can find a picture of the studio under contruction.

It's probably another studio at Fukuoka. Outsourcing and a new studio? It makes me think Poly wants to speed up the dev of GT7.

@05XR8 On the door, it was written "Polyphony Digital Inc." with the locations of the other studio: Tokyo, Fukuoka, Amsterdam, Los Angeles.

A friend came over yesterday and asked to see the game. He tried it out a bit. He said he wished he could watch others racing. I agreed.

Which got me thinking. It would be cool if some races were public. Not only so others can watch but it would definitely encourage cleaner racing with the possibility of spectators watching.

Some already stream live races. On YouTube. But as far as I know you can't watch those in the game. It would be cool to have a "watch a race" option on the Daily/FIA races screen.
