Overall the game is smooth, I personally don't care by how much in some moments FPS drops down! lol

No, it's not. You just can't see the difference. That's nothing to be ashamed of, many people can't. But at the same time, you probably shouldn't be telling people that can see the difference that there's nothing there, when there demonstrably is.

A variable frame rate is not smooth, and some would argue that even a locked 30fps isn't really smooth for a racing game.

I most highly think that GT series is best series I played so far, and nothing gonna change my mind. :))

And that's great. But many of us have a wider experience of games outside of Gran Turismo, and have different opinions.

If you've also got a wide experience of racing games and yet Gran Turismo is still the best for you, then so be it, but I'd have no idea what your rationale might be. If Gran Turismo is one of the only racing games that you've played and you're trying to pitch it as the best, then you're arguing from a position of ignorance.

There are many great racing games out there. Few offer all of what Gran Turismo does in a single package, but many take select parts of the GT experience and do them far, far better. Which game will be right for you depends on your tastes, but in general GT is very much a jack of all trades and master of none. Whatever you like, there's is almost certainly a game out there that does it better.

What's your favourite aspect of Gran Turismo? Perhaps we can recommend something for you to try that will broaden your experience of racing games beyond just the big name that is GT.

I like PD mindset, because it fits with my thinking how racing game should be.

So you want racing games to have ugly 2 gen old assets, no proper race weekend simulation, no standing starts with chase the rabbit "racing", dumb as 🤬 AI that SLOW DOWN TO LET YOU WIN, no livery editor, ass-backwards tuning, Dyson vacuum sounds, customisation that consists of generic wings and generic wheels and content updates that come so slow and so late that everyone's forgotten about them by the time they actually arrive?

Is that really what you want?

Don't you see the difference between gt1 and gt5? or between gt3 and gt6? Their old games were polished, challeging and complete. I like GT5 and 6, not as a game but as an experience with amazing replays. I still hope Poly will look back on their ps1, ps2 games.

And please, an amazing intro!!

May 1, no mention of Gtsport.

I'm almost on the same boat saying, PD's philosophy fits my thinking how a driving game is composed.
Certainly not flawless series coming from quite a different (silent) programming culture, but the GT magic hits me every time I start a new GT. Anyway a magnetizing experience that is a clear sum of it's parts.

What, even standard cars?

They were an embarrassment on last gen. Can you even imagine what it'll look like having 10 year old assets on a current gen game?

Strictly speaking, 10 year old assets would encompass some of the early Premium cars now! Other than a handful of oddities (the Veyron, Countaches, XFR, and Axela), the newest Standards are over twelve years old now. The earliest ones? Fifteen.

… GT Academy (more like Nissan Academy, a huge waste of resources and of PD's time, and only the first three ones were meaningful)...

It is actually that superfluous that the FIA is considering it an effective way to attract more young people's interest into motorsports...

The answer is definitely yes for some people. Familiarity, comfort, ease of use, near zero learning curve etc. counts for a lot with a lot of people, independently of missing features and gameplay elements.

It exists to find taleneted young drivers who may not have a chance to begin their racing carrer since it takes a lot of money and to prove you can make a real racer from gamers (they say that in their videos on yt)

It exists as a marketing tool for Nissan and Sony, if it didn't (or is seen to no longer) achieve that end they would not continue to run it out of purely altruistic aims.

GT Academy (more like Nissan Academy, a huge waste of resources and of PD's time, and only the first three ones were meaningful), "the real driving simulator" (when in fact GT5 and GT6 are some of the worst games of the subgenre of realistic looking racing games), and so on.

Apart from the programming (Which are either just modes or a simplified demo and either way, hardly takes much time), PD had little-to-nothing to do with GT Academy. That whole elination format, training, Tv show, etc was handled by someone else.

I like PD mindset, because it fits with my thinking how racing game should be.

Can you explain this?

Play GT and you will understand! so simple! 👍

I've played it for 18 years as of next month. It's not that simple, which is why people are asking for an explanation.

Note that nobody is telling you you're incorrect. We all have favourites. They're simply asking why. Is it GT's long-standing tradition of mining automobile history to present unexpected gems (Plymouth XNR, as just one example)? PD's efforts to make the game less and less about genuine racing, eschewing racecraft for a boring chase-the-rabbit sequence punctuated by rolling chicanes? Maybe it's the more recent approach to focusing on the people as much as the cars, with dedicated bits for Senna and Andretti? It might even be the obsessive approach of including every conceivable trim level of a model, even going so far as to make them up (hello, Aristo).

We have no idea if you mean any or all of those things. Or other things. That's the whole point of a discussion board.

Whaaat? You don't go to the church of Kaz and all things gran turismo!!!????

Heh, that's a little funny, since the first thing I thought of reading "Play GT and you will understand" was how much it reminded me of certain comments in this thread.

"A matter of days"; some time next week? Looking forward to it.

It'll probably just be an announcement that GTS will be at E3 lol

The results speak for themselves, talent emerged from the branding/marketing concept. Its overall success is deemed inspirational by the international federation and ignites a new collaboration. Fail to see it as a waste.
