It's taken them three years to get this far, do you really think they are only half way there with six months to go?

Sorry, not buying it. I truly think it is a figure pulled out of thin air. I doubt they really have half the game to do with ~21 weeks (mid October) to going gold.

I agree the HUD looks slick and all the extras (as I see them) like photo mode look great but the gameplay and sound from what I've seen so far is underwhelming which is a shock given the very long build up/wait.

I won't comment at all about the cancelled? beta.🤬

What I understand is just this build for this showcase is 50% finished product(I am sure I saw some one posted that PD use a new build for today in this thread) ...not the game...if this IS the game. Well good luck PD. Forza Horizon3 and Forza 7 are coming (to PC!) :)

@PzR Slim is saying that because all 3 tracks were viewed under the same streaming quality it is possible to make a fair comparison.

Okay, so what were these stark differences between the tracks?

I've said both good and bad about the reveal. You have said only good. Can you really find nothing to criticise from today?

Yes because saying a few good things gives you a pass to make criticism that is hardly valid or constructive.
I do have some aspects that I find not up to par. Difference is I don't exaggerate.

Can someone who has been on event comment physics? Sounds i can manage somehow, mute my headphones, but if physics have a lot of issues, then I don't know what to do.. Atleast I have same T300alacantara as on event so hopefully they have optimized FFB well for that set.

Six months is very short time when we talk about PD so fingers crossed we don't get delayd again. Jordan saved this event with Lucas:tup:

I know I'll be flamed for posting this, but what if PD finally understood how making money with DLC works, decided to pull a Forza and include only 137 cars in the base game and add the other premium cars from GT6 as paid DLC?
I hope I'm wrong but that could be a possibility.

I'd certainly be curious about how the GT fanbase would respond to that...

Even T10 seemingly realized the problem with that approach though, since FM6's DLC is almost all brand new to the series.

So, I don't see PD following that lead. I do expect DLC with GT Sport though. Just seems a wise business move.

My first impressions:
MUST. GET. THIS. GAME.

Seriously though, my hype has gone into orbit tonight. My favourite things are the livery editor (see Show us your rides in NFS forum) and the new generation of fantasy racecars.

One GT Sport Limited Edition, please.

Edit: Yes, that's a shameless plug.

Autosport.com are saying a bit about GTAcademy staying on and not being replaced, they also mention a redone damage model being promised!

The clubs will then decide how to use that information and whether further testing is necessary before granting applicants with a race licence proper.

Yamauchi confirmed that this new system will not replace the GT Academy but will run alongside it...

Other details include the fact that the game will be PlayStation VR compatible from launch, and that for the first time in GT history there will a full livery editor so that players can customize cars, race suits and helmets. A comprehensive damage model has also been promised.

What is wrong with Sony and their handling of one of their biggest franchises? This reveal was awful, looked bad, sounds were awful, collision physics still awful, and hilariously they are pushing competitive racing this time. Why has sony let their biggest franchise come to this? IS it KAZ running wild? Really sad, all hype is totally destroyed. All across the internet their is huge negative backlash from this reveal. Embarassing from what at one time was a very prestigious franchise.

I fear PD is in trouble with AC and PCARS2 coming.

What is there to fear when GT will sell many times both of them combined. The only competition PD have is themselves commercially (their sales depend on their quality) and right now they are letting themselves down in certain aspects.

It would be a great car for an online cops & robbers mode, especially if you can customize it.

Hopefully we get more videos and pictures tomorrow. Also, since that lightbar looks more like the one from the SEMA 2014 showcar, could it also have a proper 6-speed manual like the real car had. Imagine that: M4 with stick shift and lights on top.

Their lighting is still very much top class but I felt they sort of didn't want to show anything, no beta, heck even the trailer was cut with rough replays and same trailer music as the first one.

The sounds are a slight improvement and so are the physics but still a way off the competition from what I can tell (need physics impressions).

Graphics I feel are pretty good and will look better on our TVs eventually. Am I blown away? no and considering the dev time I should be but I'm still intrigued.

They've never had that much tough competition so interested to see how they respond, still betting on a 2017 release from what we've seen today.

How in the world can a trailer have screen tearing. That's what I don't understand.

The question is: would be there any open lobby's? And if yes then is there tracks and cars that could work with those type of lobbys?

I know i sound silly but one of the things i fear about GTS is that with what GTS aims for, i afraid that stuff like free run type of lobby's might not exists.

All you need to do is watch the races back yourself. The first shot we had of the race on the oval. The very good car models looked totally out of place on the low quality track. The buildings on the Tokyo street track looked very poor quality compared to the very good car models. Then when we come to Brands Hatch and the Ring, all of a sudden the very good car models seemed to sit very well in their environment. There wasn't a stark contrast between the quality of the car models and the quality of the environment. So there you go that's the reasons I formed my opinion about the inconsistencies between the qualities of the tracks. So now I guess you are going to tell me my opinion is wrong are you ;)

Well.
Time for first impressions. What do you guys think?
The game looks interesting. It has potential. But I'm nowhere near sold on it. Shortcomings that should've been resolved ages ago still remain - unsurprisingly. And if this is only what they've got to show after three years, it makes me question what they've been doing all this time.

An underwhelming unveiling overall.

Good to see the man enjoying himself though

I think the push for competitive racing is a good thing. Why wouldn't it be?

It will never be anything like iRacing, but there's a lot of people who will appreciate a more structured approach to online multiplayer.
