In the background of at track sides with many trees close together I'm noticing a few trees still rotating. Having all 3D trees would really bring down the frame rate with a track like the Nurburgring.
If you watch them pass buy on the left and right in the Nurburgring video, that's where I think I'm seeing it.
I can't really see it.

I think that people see this as a result of 3 to 4 years development and quite rightly say it's nit enough and it's disappointing that the glaring issues in GT 6 haven't been addressed.

on top of a 70% reduction in cars, plus a reduction in track count.

There is damage in GT6, but nobody wants to use it because if you get damage you might as well quit the race. Chances are that there will be a damage option for online races in GT Sport, just like in GT6.

As for online, we don't really know anything about it at this point. But at least I didn't see any disconnections or problems with invisible cars during the livestream yesterday, did you?

What do you mean by background life? That's a glaring issue I've never heard of before.

I thought it was a shame they did driver swaps by changing places behind the console. Real driver swaps between PCs (which can be in different continents) are a cool feature already present in iRacing, used extensively for 24 hour endurance racing ;)

Actually, does anyone know the name of the song that was in the original trailer? I actually quite liked it, and would love to find a version of it with out the screaming child.

Seriously who's idea was the screaming child?!

I see some of you guys have been questioning the graphics, here is your answer:
"While you may not notice the level of detail in the cars and tracks while driving in normal gameplay, you will see it in replays and in Photo Mode where you can study the images up close."

The sentence above can be found here on their site, under the Graphics section:

To get an idea of the graphics outside of a stream:

As I thought, the stream slaughtered the quality. Try calling that a PS3 game.

Amazing
Also offtopic but which song is playing in the background? I remember hearing it before.
So I remade yesterday's GTS trailer with Moon Over The Castle instead of that annoying music/baby shouting.

Much better IMO 👍

Guess I'm early then.

So this thread has gone the same old way. Some people want to comment on what they saw, critique and discuss it, others just want to go on the defensive against those critiques rather than posting their own critiques and opinions.

Seriously, it's all

"I'm not too keen on X, didn't impress me too much"

Response:

"It's not finished! It's a BETA! They've got 6 months! 50%! Driveclub is worse!"

Come on people, directly respond to the points being brought up rather than just trying to defend them or brush it off as moaning.

I understand this game is more about
eSport(ing)/online/community play but, c'mon. GT1-GT4 was about offline AI. 117 offline events will mean nothing if I'm starting from 16th with 3 second gaps, rabbit chasing and AI half throttle for 5 laps. I'm having none of that.

I want GT/GTS/GTWhatever, to smash the gaming world. I'm not seeing it right now. Someone tell me the AI race side by side, no brake checking when racing bumper to bumper at Brands, keep their virtual foot in it when in pursuit and I'm buying it.

What puzzles me is that several people who were there-- including Eurogamer-- are reporting the graphics weren't that much different than GT6. My PS3 died quite a while ago so I am not exactly current on GT6 graphics but the best quality GT Sport videos do seem to be a step ahead and also appear competitive with other racing games this gen.

A few things could be driving the graphics gap seen from these people at the preview:

1) Their memory of GT6 is inflated. It was very good for 3 years ago but not quite equal to what they remember.

2) Their expectations of GT on the PS4 are too high.

3) They were too busy absorbing the big picture to notice the detailed improvements. A lot of the magic is in the details in racing games and 30 minutes in a busy, distracting conference hall may not lead you to see the advances.

4) GT Sport actually doesn't look much better than GT6 in it's current Alpha state.

I wonder if the PS4K/Neo will be where the full graphical splendor will be found?

That situation won't get better even at release, as the optimistic will then be saying "give them a chance, all the flaws will get fixed in patches". Just look at GT6 thread.
