He talks about the FIA connection in that video but when you think about it, FIA involvement and contribution seems very toned down over the initial announcement.

I disagree, the ability to earn an FIA-approved license by playing a damn game is pretty bonkers, and quite the opposite of toned down on its own.

None of the official series in full

I've said this before but I had the impression the purpose of the FIA partnership was to create a unique online championship that stands on its own in the FIA stable, rather than just make a video game version of an existing series. Whilst I'm happy to be proved wrong I don't think the expectation of getting full official series is a reasonable one.

That 50% finished claim is probably a very loose number. I would expect that the hardest part of development is finished or close to, and from here on out it's just polishing up some things.
For me it is, because many people said it's a more polished GT6, in my opinion, that's good because GT6 on ps3 (having many ps4-ish assets) looks lovely (with the premium cars), besides, nurburgring looks good, but with more minor touches, boom, best looking nurburgring ever, sounds are thing as well that got nice work, but still lefts more to do.

Right. People need to understand game development. FFXV a games thats been in development for 2-3 years (after the new changes) , even longer if planning was included was said to be 55% complete in Early 2015. Its now going to release Sept 2016.

Okay, finally some 60fps video of GTS and the game runs flawlessly at 60fps. That's a good sign!
Replays are uncapped.
Except that there has already been reports that it doesn't run flawlessly at 60FPS. Hopefully that remains their primary focus.

@GT6mebe

I think you need to understand game development. The game will release in less than 6 months. You need about a month before that to print discs and send copies to retailers so they have more or less 5 months to finish the game. It should be in beta at this stage, which means little to no content andded, just bugfixes and minor changes to stuff like user interface.

The example you gave of FFXV is rather bad. You said the was in development for 2-3 years, let's make it 2,5. If the 55% claim was made in Early 2015 then they had about 1.5 years before going gold. That brings the total development time to 4 years. 2.5 years is 62.5% of that time, so 1.5 years to finish the remaining 45% was reasonable with some crunch time.

Reports from people on site, not something am bothered by to be honest this far from release. Needs to be fixed for November though.

Games at this stage should be feature complete, polishing over the last 5/6 months is not a small thing though, that is what makes a game good.

Reports based on what? I hope not from yesterday stream. (it was technically streamed at 50fps instead of 60fps)
No, not from the stream. From people that went to the event. They still have time to get it sorted, so hopefully it plays out well for us when it releases.

It is not linear. If PD has done all the assets (cars, tracks), they have 6+ month just to optimize and polish.

Which isn't 50% of the work. Most complains here are about the quality of asstets and the amount of them. That's not going to change at this point. Same with more offline modes, better sounds, etc.

A Chinese GT fan had told the staff of Polyphony that they need a Simplified Chinese Version for the market of the PRC Yesterday and she had got a “yes”!

Kaz had record a video message with a chinese journalist and the video will be post on their website later。

They likely have more along the lines of 4-5 months really. Getting a game to go gold and then finalizing that would likely take up the last month or so.

I don't think people should complain about the game... The game is in beta mode and only halfway done. Wait till you actually play the game.

Doesn't work does it? People are allowed opinions but time and time again those with critical opinions get told to pipe down by those who only want to hear praise. Perhaps an open, free forum is not the place for you.

It's amazing some of the things that can persist in a discussion when they seemingly have no right to do so. This 50% development thing is absurd - just thinking logically it's clearly not a statement that applies to the overall development of the game, and on top of that it was said by the damn Youtube guy. With all due respect to him he could barely string a coherent sentence together. It's surely meaningless.

Do you really think they are going off pure improv? It's more likely that this is information that he was told rather than him just making anything up.

Speaking of not having the right to do so, you're in not position to make that statement.

I like the distanced seating position.
Very Forza 6...and youd need to be a few inches from a 55" tv for it to be the right fov. Hopefully its like PCars and we can set the correct fov as i cannot stand Forzas cockpit view.

If the weather isn't dynamic then what's the point of it being there to be honest? the best parts of that in GT6 was the track drying out or getting wet so the dry tyres were useless.
What if they made it semi-dynamic? You select before you start the race to have light rain. Then as you begin the race you notice it's dry and warm. "I set the race to have light rain?!" you start yelling at the tv screen. Mid-race the rain begins. :sly: Sports tires off - rain tires on. :D

Just left the GTS event in the Copper Box, and I have to say, that was a great day. My overall impression of the game is much better than after yesterday's stream.

Getting the chance to play it on headphones with the music off, on time trial on the Nurb, was pretty incredible.

So for me, not so panicky on the sounds at all. Clearly there are changes happening, and I have faith that it'll be much improved overall come launch.

The visuals are lovely, genuinely - but with some heavy frame rate drops on 20 car races.

But anyway, Willow Springs and Brands Hatch, in particular, I personally thought were stunning. Another con though, very aliasy. Something that could be improved hopefully.

One final thing, watching the races live (and failing hard at racing in one lol) was an absolute pleasure, and a real surprise after yesterday's streamed event. It's a great spectator mode, really.

So, overall, really happy. Great day, and game shows real promise!

Thanks again guys, especially @Jordan and whoever the commentator chap was. What a legend. Someone get that guy a job in e-sports.

:gtpflag:
Is it worse than Forza on the jaggies?

That would make it more interesting but if they can do semi dynamic, they can do full dynamic

1st day patches just wreak of getting incomplete games. Not a bad thing, but given their track record, it's not something to look forward to.
It's reality of current gaming. Personally I'm not buying a game in first 1-3 month, because it's almost always unfinished.

Sure they can! But since they don't because it would sacrifice some quality, semi-dynamic wouldn't sacrifice anything because then it would be coded from the start instead of being totally random. :)
