I blame it all on this guy:
Comparing GTS to Infinite Warfare and quoting Donald Trump. I'm loosing brain cells.

The most notable part of that whole video is the fact that the thumbnail he used is eerily almost exactly the same as a screenshot i took a while ago from the stream... Otherwise its just a huge troll.

the great thing is you can continue to play GT6 with all the cars and tracks you like :)

Personally, I think PD is making the exact right decision to build new HD content for the PS4 and for the future instead of sticking with outdated assets. This decision necessitates less content... it takes a lot of time and effort to create new tracks and cars. Forza 5 did the same thing but at this point in Forza 6 they have a huge selection of cars and tracks. I am sure PD will eventually get there as well.

Of course I don't use these games to "collect cars" anyway. It's about the driving for me and a few handfuls of great cars and tracks are all I need if the title is a quality package throughout.
GT6 sucks. I haven't played it in a long time, and very likely won't ever again.

I am amused that you've determined "making new HD content" excuses only 130 cars in 3 years.

So far, the fact that they actually showed us footage of every feature they announce gives me hope, but I bet they will do that anyway .

Oh god not again

Interesting stuff regarding the release date, Sony forecasts selling 20 million PS4 units this (fiscal) year. Now that seems very very optimistic and means they've got something up their sleeve (PS4K+VR+surprise game??) but it also means they expect high sales from GTSport so they're probably confident of GTSport releasing in that time frame.

There's something that GTS hit me and those are the fantasy cars. At first when I said before that the C7.R will be in the game but after looking it close, it was a PD's version of the C7.R except it looked even better than the original.

I don't mind PD doing this. I mean we already have a lot of fantasy cars that looked like cars in real life. Take the GTR R35 TC for example. It looked like PD's version of the GTR GT1. Also another good example of this would have to be the Jaguar F-Type Gr.3.

I have absolutely no trust in this GT Sport. And I'm sure anybody at Sony thinks the same after this event. Maybe I'm wrong but there are too many proofs.
For the first time I'm not hyped by a GT. Actually, it was a good advertising for Forza 6. I've waited 2.5 years for a next gen GT and finally I will buy Forza 6.

I'm apprehensively hyped.

Yes, I know that statement is a total contradiction. That's how GTS is making me feel.
I share this outlook. Personally the build up for this game has been significantly more progressive than GT6, and you can tell Kaz is at least trying to right previous wrongs. didn't necessarily take the greatest approach but you know, this game looks way more promising than GT6 did from my point of view.

I think Pd does not get enough credit for what they have shown.First of all a honest yet unremarkable trailer that actually shows gameplay also a flag system and pace car a livery editor. They seemed to have removed the classic sp campaign and replaced it with a in depth tutorial.
I'm not saying everything that was shown was amazing the sound needs improving still, also the collisions looked crap.
This looks like a genuine attempt by pd to try something new.

That's to be expected.
After the days that have passed i'm still thinking about the unveiling.
It was a really good one to be honest, usually people in the game industry just make a bunch of high-end trailers that look nothing like the final product.
PD did the exact opposite by showing actual beta gameplay and they even organized a proper competition with it.
I can't possibly think of a gaming franchise that did the same for any other game, gotta appreciate the honesty in there.

After reading the last 11 pages (or was it 111? It felt like it) all I can say is Assetto Corsa can't come soon enough. I hope it has received many more pre orders over the last few days. As for pre ordering GTS. If I did that I'd be validating what PD are doing with GTS and I can't bring myself to do that.

Totally the same, and can I also add another contradiction:

The takedown of the vids on GTP has made me weirdly hyped, as though they were saying - we weren't happy with that, have THIS instead, boo-yah!

(Yes, I know, pretty unlikely  )

Turn 10 do in-depth interviews with Dan Greenawalt and gameplay demos(on-hand and off-hand) at every reveal event. They even gave Gamersyde a incredibly high-quality B-roll footage at E3 of the current build: http://gamersyde.com/news_e3_forza_6_direct_feed_60_fps_video-16772_en.html

Not sure what you're trying to imply but PD is not being special in that they are showing off their game to the media.

Not to mention PD has forced sites to now take down video of GTS.

That's the point i'm making, they're doing the standard media thing with hiigh quality trailers and interviews, GT made a competition and shown gameplay footage only

Still trying to get my head behind this.

  • PD organizing an event
  • Everyone aboard the train
  • Many GTP members and fans present
  • Presentation of GT Sport creatives relatively positive atmosphere
  • Trailer revealed
  • Videos posted on youtube
  • Enthusiasm growing as more news comes out
  • Critical responses to sounds and graphics
  • People discuss what has been seen
  • GTP trying to keep the positive momentum
  • Videos go to Gamersyde for quality improvement
  • Sony and PD demand to take videos offline
  • Hell brakes loose in the forums
  • GTP continues to showing of a great item of the event
  • Overal general good impression after this event
  • Disappointment in Sony and PD
What makes them so concerned about those videos posted?
  • Was it PD's decision?
  • Did Sony chiefs pull the brakes?
  • Consequences for GT Sport?
  • Doesn't make this all much worse?
This all has left rather a bad taste in my mouth. Once again GTP did an amazing job and I applaud them for that but reactions of Sony and PD leaves me like this...

This is a joke right?

They only showed gameplay footage? Are you really going to stand firm on that one?

Because 80% of the gameplay trailer is either from replays or menus.

How exactly did Turn 10 hide behind high-quality trailers?

Can you link to that Gamersyde Forza video as an example? Otherwise this is all a bit pointless...

A bit pointless?

He is claiming that PD was special in some way by showing off gameplay at an event and letting media play the newest builds.

I'm posting the links to show that he is completely wrong and that is from a single media outlet.

... which are captured from a PS4...

Photomode is captured from a PS4 too, doesn't make it gameplay.

If you're gonna state that x is better/different than y, you have to give links to x and y, otherwise, yeah, it's all a bit pointless.

Edit: seen the edit.

Good point and one that must be highlighted. Hopefully they didn't try to fool us by using high-end PCs to showcase their product.

Exactly, stuff from the game. Not stuff prepared ad hoc.

Actually it was recorded for a trailer so by definition it was ad hoc.

This is an example of something not ad hoc:

http://gamersyde.com/news_e3_forza_6_direct_feed_60_fps_video-16772_en.html

We asked the Turn 10 representative on NeoGAF if they could supply some B-roll gameplay footage and give it to a website like Gamersyde... so they did.

Good point and one that must be highlighted. Hopefully they didn't try to fool us by using high-end PCs to showcase their product.

Oh look, someone's trying to have a funny.

Are you honestly going to try and imply that Forza 5 and 6 at E3 were running on PCs?

Digital Foundry
And yes, there were some games that were - categorically, without a shadow of a doubt - running on Xbox One hardware. It'll come as little surprise to learn that first party software was more likely to be showcased running on the new console, with Turn 10's Forza Motorsport 5 the most high profile title we saw that was visibly operating on the actual unit.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-hands-on-with-xbox-one

That's honestly precious.

Whilst PD might have had valid reason to take down the videos in their mind, it still doesn't excuse the fact the front news page was practically nuked of content that the team worked hard to put out for everyone to see - not just in the outstanding effort Jordan had to get the footage but also from the guys writing the articles.

It' a total shame considering there's tons of outlets still with footage up that doesn't even show the game in as good a light as GTP did. Those videos changed a lot of minds, there's no denying that.
