Responsible for the public reaction ? Firing the PR guy won't do anything positive IMO.

It's cause and effect chain, PD held an event, gives permission to record direct feed, there must be agreement about this, between GTP and Sony/PD, a MOU. When the videos went online, there will be reaction, somewhere along the way, Sony/PD is not happy about the whole situation in GTP, there must a specific cause to the request of taking down the videos. I don't think Sony/PD would take such step without thorough consideration, they knew the risk of backlash/reaction from taking down the videos.

The only one who knows why is Jordan.

Yes, naturally the PUBLIC RELATIONS guy is responsible for PUBLIC RELATIONS.

Blaming the community is incredibly short-sighted and arrogant if true when you're the one that decided that what you had was good enough for a media event.

I think Pd get plenty of leeway from Sony maybe to much.I have a feeling the new guy in charge of the Sony games division will not allow pd the free reign they always have had.

I completely agree, PD needs a major shakeup; there is no long an excuse for taking so long to make a game.

Is your assessment in comparing all sounds comes from the same cockpit view like the real video ? Different POV gives different sounds, right ?

Well GT sounds pretty much the same in bumper and cockpit (they seemed to have removed the distortion in cockpit view from GT6).

PCARS I don't know because I don't have it yet.

AC also sounds similar in cockpit and rear view in that version. In the latest version it has changed though.

But still, the general comparison is still reasonably valid. You can youtube cockpit views for PCARS and AC as well, they are pretty easy to find 👍

EDIT: Added cockpit views in original post.

Did Sony/PD also took down Youtube videos by others ? Why only GTP that I know as of now, getting the take down request ?

Why are you sound emotional ? No one blame anyone, no one know why but @Jordan.

Here is my last thought on this : everything happens for a reason.

Gamersyde videos were taken down too.

Gamersyde videos were taken down too.

That's more likely because GTP staff was the uploader/source. Jordan was requested by Sony/PD to take down all video uploaded by GTP ( Jordan and the staff )

Interestingly, the take down came almost the same time / not long after the Gamersyde went live, mmm coincidence ?

I love this conspiracy you're trying to create so it's not PD fault for taking down the videos.

I think you are thinking too far, so if any organization asking a video or material be taken down from a site, it has to be the fault of the said organization for making such request ?

I'm simply stating what has happened :) If PD didn't want the videos uploaded from beginning, they won't allow GTP even do direct feed recording.

Fault might be a strong word but it's definitely their responsibility.

It probably wasn't PD's decision at all.

When I say PD, I'm also referring to the publisher at the same time.

I've already said that I have a feeling that Sony pushed this out and it was probably Sony that wanted it pulled after the lukewarm response.

They made the request, they are responsible for what exactly ? Not making the request ? I'm confused.

Thanks mate 👍

In the past 10+ years PD has only seemed responsible for the PR events that specifically involved Kaz and Kaz alone, like the interviews of him at car shows and the SEMA stuff and whatever. The Pit Stop blog was obviously theirs too. Everything else, even including the international versions of the GT website, have obviously been set up by people detached from PD.

If anyone that went wants to check the T & C's attached to the ticket for the event, it may well offer clues as to why the videos have been taken down.

If that same organization allowed you to record that material in the first place (not once, but multiple times) when they knew perfectly well at the time of recording that the sole purpose of recording the material was to publish it, then yes, they are at fault.

Sony/PD allowed these recordings while it was perfectly clear that the only purpose of these recordings was to publish them. They could have placed an embargo on it and asked to be shown the content in advance before given the green light on publishing. They didn't.

(Sorry for not living up to my earlier statement with regards to this topic, but I feel this needs to be stated).

What's on the ticket? I'm pretty much curious to now

I don't know, it's a genuine question, but most event tickets have clauses in the T & C's that restrict the use of recording equipment, or reserve the right to any unauthorised material recorded. Maybe someones done something to **** Sony off, and they've decided to invoke that clause. I was wondering about the specific wording as it might have offered a better reason than we have at the moment.

Still trying to get my head behind this.

  • PD organizing an event
  • Everyone aboard the train
  • Many GTP members and fans present
  • Presentation of GT Sport creatives relatively positive Atmosphere
I think the reaction is because there really wasn't a positive atmosphere, on most sites the reveal was slated, the trailer was mocked and there was a lot of criticism and calls for change at PD.

This is just bad damage control, but it's what we should expect from a developer that has only shown disinterest at best to its customers and community.

And here we are... Mixed feelings about this...

An entire community asking for answers and the man who knows the truth, can´t talk about it.
An entire community anxious to watch videos and photos of the franchise that we all are intersted in, and now all the videos (those wich are the truly examples of what they did with the game) are gone.
An entire community that always wanted to make GT the best car/racing game out there, isn´t heard.

Jesus... a massive event just to show something that will be considered, only few days after, not whorty to be shown...

Something is happening with Kaz, Sony, FIA and so... Im starting to think that is pointless to be worried for this, but I feel disappointment anyway.

I have a question. Has anyone seen evidence that tuning will actually be a part of GTS? I'm asking, because I haven't seen any, and from the point of view of creating a game for equal competition between different cars, it might make sense to keep the cars in the exact same state they were BoP'd by PD.

Thoughts?

It would surprise me if they'd actually remove the tuning aspect rom the game, but maybe they'll just let us tune the cars without actually upgrade it.

How do you know they didn't ? Do you know the nature of the agreement between PD/Sony and GTP for London event coverage ? Do you know the reason behind the take down that we do not know ?

Allowing something then not allowing it does not automatically make the party that gives the permission at fault. Please don't jump into conclusion before we know what's the cause of the take down.

How do you know they didn't ?
Are you suggesting that GTP would violate Sony/PD embargo/NDA?

Please don't jump into conclusion before we know what's the cause of the take down.
Yet here you are, suggesting this is somehow not Sony's/PD's cockup, which automatically implies that this is GTP's cockup (as that is the only other party involved)...

Hi MarchingSaint I have looked at my printed ticket and there are no T & C I can see, I did note have the ring had LOD issues, really bad flashing in places. It even froze on me twice I selected the driver options before the track image popped up and had to press the PS button. Loading times seemed good I wonder if they used SSD in the PS4.

There have been some negative comments on the Videos I wonder if that is why they were taken down.

Nope, those are your words. I will only say this again for the last time : It happens for a reason.

A request was made, it would not happen without any cause. That was my point the whole time, I'm not laying blame on any side nor defending any side.

I don't know the reason, nor do you.

Yup I agree, with the offline portion of the game seeming to be fixed challenges and the online portion necessarily needing to be well balanced this sounds entirely possible. On the other hand we do know there is a credit system (I'd be surprised if it's there just for buying cars), and a 'normal' online mode where tuning wouldn't be an issue, so it's not a guarantee at least.

If there is indeed no tuning I really hope PD make that clear well in advance; otherwise it's going to be very frustrating trawling through millions of "huh where's tuning gone?????" posts on release day.............

Sony/PD shouldn't pay attention to the amount of dislikes or bad comments. Look at the new Call of Duty with so many dislikes. Activision basically said "we don't care, we know the game will sell".
It's a little bit childish from Sony. I don't know how GTP staff can keep their calm after the Q&A and now this.
