Well actually, if you watch the video, you can see about 50% of it is racing footage from in game replays, and 50% dedicated to other things. Lets take a look at forzas reveal trailer:

Hmm, also about 50% race footage (even though im pretty sure none of those camera angles can actually be seen in game but oh well)

So comparing two actually comparable things and you will find some comparable results. You however compared a reveal trailer to completely separate game-play footage that came after the reveal trailer through an independent source, much as GTS did with their game-play footage.

And then PD took down those gameplay vids for no discernible reason, but there are still plenty of others out there.

...Hmm, I haven't gone through myriad of new posts but just noticed the news page videos have been taken down.

I thought GTP had Sony's permission to upload those. What happened? There were one or two vids I hadn't seen yet... now I can't see them, period.... me sad....

Except GTS pulled all that gameplay footage....

Turn 10 didn't.

Turn 10 also allowed for people to take off-screen footage, supplied gameplay footage to multiple media sites including IGN and Gamespot.

Turn 10 didn't hide behind anything as MarchingSaint tried to imply.

They pulled some of it, not all. Its not exactly difficult to find.

It's not difficult to find because people have reuploaded the footage they took down onto Youtube....

That reuploaded footage onto Youtube will likely continue to be pulled by PD and reuploaded again by the community.

Here's a stretch of a theory, what if it was PDs plan to take it down from the beginning, just so they could give people some footage and then take it away after a couple of days to, I don't know, tease them or something. Doesn't really hold up though considering they didn't warn anyone.

Or maybe they fixed some of the major offenders, such as the tyre squeal and that, and didn't want people complaining about things they have already fixed.

I don't know, I'm bored and I want answers!

That's the thing, yes they have told people to take it down. But it's already out in the wild. You can find the high quality gamersyde vids for download if you know where to look. They haven't stopped the footage from being seen at all. Mind boggling decision really.

I said nothing about the fact that Sony took down the GTS images, don't know what to think about that honestly.
I just said that i didn't knew any other game company that felt so sure about their product to show gameplay footage at the unveiling, and even more, organizing an Esport event at the same time. At this point there must be a misunderstanding.

The one thing that baffles me most is that one would invite a news outlet to an event, allow them to capture several direct gameplay feeds (this involves people hooking up equipment and requires your permission) and then have them take down the videos a few days later. It's not like the purpose of the recordings weren't obvious in advance (yes, of course they will post them online).

Release a new vid. Note how many of the Project CARS pre-release videos have a build number mentioned. In public betas such as The Division, the game actually watermarked gameplay with a build number and user id so it's perfectly clear it's pre-release.

But I guess we won't get more clear answers anytime soon, so this is the last thing I'm going to say about this topic.

... With potato quality, apparently they're ok with that and not GTP's awesome direct feed quality videos (shakes head in disbelief).

That's really just the nature of the internet.

What really sucks is that these game developers keep using Youtube to show off their games and Youtube(unless in 4k) does a terrible job with quality.

Gamersyde should be the first website any of these devs contact in order to really show off their games in best quality.

At least with Microsoft you can go to their media website and anyone can download extremely high quality B-Roll footage from events, Sony really needs the equivalent to this.

Here is the link:

Well I can assure you that at E3 in the coming weeks the unveil of Horizon 3 will be followed by many gameplay footage and like always at E3 there will be a driver contest.

If PD allowed direct feed during event, but now changed their mind, then the cause may be what happens this past couple of days on GTP ? Something must be serious, that Jordan got an email from Sony/PD ?

I agree, a simple *Not Representative of Final Build Quality* watermark is perfectly fine.

If they really took it down because of lower then expected response... well they need to fire their PR guy.

I guess it may have something to do with the fact that Youtube is a tiny bit more recognisable as a brand than Gamersyde.

I'm telling you people it's all the comparison video's that where being made.Sony\pd obviously felt the build of the game was not good enough to be plastered all over the net in Hd.
Thats fair enough, but if they had thought about it for a second they would have realised that once its out there, its staying out there, and taking down the source videos would probably increase the speed at which it spreads.

I know but at least give Gamersyde versions of it.

Yeah, find someone to blame

Well, I'm not finding someone to blame; it's usually the PR guy that is responsible for this kind of stuff.

This is not a proper excuse.

They chose to have this media event, they decided what they had was good enough to show to the public so don't blame the media when they start comparing.

Also, GTPlanet wasn't doing comparison videos and there was no reason to take down their footage to stop such a thing.

Honestly, I get the feeling that Sony pushed Polyphony to have this event and they are trying to push this game out for release; it's like SFV all over again.

Corvette C7R sounds pretty good in this:

Compared to PCARS and AC it still lacks beefiness and environmental sounds though:

And compared to the real thing. Seems to me like a mix of AC and PCARS. AC got the basic sound right, but PCARS got the brutalness better.

EDIT: Added cockpit views for PCARS & AC for better comparison.

Responsible for the public reaction ? Firing the PR guy won't do anything positive IMO.

It's cause and effect chain, PD held an event, gives permission to record direct feed, there must be agreement about this, between GTP and Sony/PD, a MOU. When the videos went online, there will be reaction, somewhere along the way, Sony/PD is not happy about the whole situation in GTP, there must a specific cause to the request of taking down the videos. I don't think Sony/PD would take such step without thorough consideration, they knew the risk of backlash/reaction from taking down the videos.

The only one who knows why is Jordan.

And compared to the real thing, I think AC has the closest sound:

Is your assessment in comparing all sounds comes from the same cockpit view like the real video ? Different POV gives different sounds, right ?

@Chameleon .. Maybe they've now added in TVR after making it top priority to find the owners and licence them, and they are probably very busy preparing a nice new TVR packed trailer for us to enjoy.

Who knows!? :odd:

Kinda sounds like a V6 but Youtube does not help sounds at all and it's still an improvement over before.

It is definitely a massive improvement over the C6 Race Car we have in GT6 (that sounds like a 4 cylinder ricer :yuck:). Also gotta remember that this is recorded off screen and that will degrade quality further.

I have quite good hope now. The Lancer and Bugatti with its BOV, and now the C7R. Seems like PD is finally heading in the right direction. But it's gonna take them a while to update all of the cars' sounds and I think we'll still see a lot of cars with poor sounds on release day.

I think Pd get plenty of leeway from Sony maybe to much.I have a feeling the new guy in charge of the Sony games division will not allow pd the free reign they always have had.
