If that is true, then the negatives really do outweigh the positives this time around. Most of the 'hate' comments are made by those that only know so much on the subject. (YouTuber's)
Eh most of it just just youtube commentators who haven't even played a single Gran turismo game. My favourite comment being "Physics still sucks XD".

Everyone, please dislike this video...it needs many more dislikes than it has.

It's best to just ignore it, if I remember correctly the more interaction he gets with his audience the better it is for him. Likes, dislikes, comments, that all counts although the number of views he gets is what's more important. So let's not feed the troll/ attention whore.

Regarding all this prohibition by PD or Sony, my curiosity is not the reason why it happened. What I am curious about is if Jordan or any other person of thus website was informed about the reaon or if it was a plain blunt prohibition wirhout any other explanation..

Oh, I love that one! *ignores the fact that GT6 was a huge jump in the physics department from GT5*
Eh, I thought it was kind of a short jump. Still a jump. It was the first Gran Turismo game in which I didn't immediately get a magic oil change for my car right after purchase. It felt distinctly different from every other GT game. I finally enjoyed racing the dinkmobiles like the Fit!

I'm counting on the same thing from GT Sport. The "distinctly different" thing, not the oil thing. ;)

I want to get away from all this nonsense and focus on my impressions and anticipation of GT Sport.

I think there has to be more to Sport than a bunch of driving school, with the only real racing taking place online. It stands to reason to me. I can't see PD ignoring the 5 or 10% who don't have broadband, and even more who don't really want to race online. Like Samus, I prefer single player offline racing, so some GT-like mode has to be there. Maybe this is the game that breaks that mold. The thing is though, I don't have the time to work around the online schedule all the time. When I race, I definitely want to do certain things. But who knows? Maybe there are hundreds, thousands of PS4s servering the game up 24/7, with every event available every five or ten minutes. Matchmaking really will be seamless. Players really will behave or they will get banned for increasingly long periods of time, until they can't play at all, almost guaranteeing relatively good clean racing. If it ends up being as punty as PCARS and RaceRoom, I'll be okay with that. I'm hoping. ;)

There has to be some sort of progression in the game. The personal screen shows not just the expected elements like level and progress through the game. There is an economy. There's a bank account entry for your credits, so there will be winnings. It shows your garage, with the number of cars in it, so I'm betting you'll be buying cars. Since the game will be heavily slanted towards race cars, they will be expensive, so credit prizes should be fairly hefty. And there might be quite a few things to spend those credits on, like maintenance, repairs, livery painting... there could b modifications for street cars. It may not be a full on Race Mod, but who knows what will be coming. I expect DLC, both cars and tracks. I'm hoping that Sport is built in a modular way, so that events expand to accommodate the new content.

I love what we know of the cars so far. I mentioned Jaguar before the reveal, and by golly, there's a Jaguar to race! One of my big wishes was to see those iconic monsters on the track competing: Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Mercedes Benz... that "P" car. I'd prefer to see them all competing at once in one class. And I requested classes, even fantasy classes. We got racing classes, even fantasy classes! Now, if only we could have homologation/BoP to balance out cars for user created leagues.

Who saw a Livery Editor coming? I mentioned it a few times, but that was the last thing I expected to see at the reveal. But Kaz gave us one, and so powerful, we can recreate whatever race car from history we want, as well as our own creations! And share them! Oh, this is sweet! If we get some sort of mod system too, I'm going to ignore those other racers almost completely, though RaceRoom still has a warm place on my hard drive. But what else would make this package complete are some user created content: an Event Maker, which includes league and club building tools for online racing. How about a next gen Course Maker 2.5 so each league can have some of its own race courses? There are some great ones for GT6. And make that useful for offline play, so we can make our own championships and even mini-seasons, with difficulty for the bots.

There are so many things I want to see besides all that. Editable driver cam positions, so we can position them as we want. I posted about that in the "what do you want to see?" thread in some detail. A message system so we can drop friends notices and congrats, maybe even use it to share liveries, replays, cars, etc. An online economy structure so we can sell our goodies like liveried cars. Editable replay camera positions, like RaceRoom's Director Mode, and a Movie Maker. I know that some of this is better suited to GT7 itself, but why not ask for it now? I remind you about the Livery Editor. ;)

This could end up being a bigger deal than PCARS and Asseto Corsa, if Kaz will support it well. It has the potential.

I had the same reaction when I read my email earlier today.

Its truly baffling, i don't know how a company can be so inept in its dealings. Anyways, lets hope that what they showed will be nowhere near the quality of the final game, to that end the take-down notice will be justified. Should it pan out a different way however then the series might be too far gone to save even with different leadership.

We've seen the Campaign Mode and it shows no offine racing, just tests and instructional stuff. Unless they are planning to add a whole offline career in the next 6 months that hasn't been mentioned as of yet, this is it.

You really think a game that is trying to sell millions of units is going to ban people from racing? Have you raced online? The number of people banned for bad behaviour would be monumental. The fanbase would be in an uproar and they'd be savaged on social media. Can't see it happening.

All the progression seems to be from online racing since there's no other way to earn credits that we can see yet.

Do you have a link to the full description of how the livery editor works so I can also see this powerful livery editor and how it functions? You'll have a tough time creating whatever race car you want from history given that only one car is pre-2010 so far.

Okay, Mr Parliamentarian, "history" was the wrong word, but this is what the official site states.
Recreating liveries of existing race cars
Gran Turismo Sport is equipped with a “Livery Editor” that enables players to customize the livery or their vehicles, or even recreate the livery of their favorite racecars. The created design can be shared between players. Surprise your friends with your originality and level of artistry.

Now, as for what we'll be doing in GT Sport, who knows? As I said above, we might be doing ALL our racing online. But you might pay attention to everything I post, because I also said,
I know that some of this is better suited to GT7 itself, but why not ask for it now? I remind you about the Livery Editor. ;)
This really could end up being a big deal if the right stuff happens, and people keep asking for more.

That's not proof of an all-powerful livery editor. To wit: the only clip we've had of it in action was a player recreating the exact same R8 LMS that's already in the game, using shapes tailor-made to do just that.

Nobody knows how the final product will turn out.

You'll have to forgive my sense of deja vu.

With less than six months to go before the targeted release date (so more like five months), new features being introduced are unlikely. Massive changes are unlikely.

True, big changes are unlikely. But one, I'm not going to challenge Polyphony Digital on statements they make on an element of the game which is clearly looking quite powerful. Seen a "Decal Deform" function in a Livery Editor before? I'm only familiar with Forza's, but it doesn't have that. It has all the others though.

Two, and 2.5, this is the time to ask for things, because it's entirely possible that we'll be getting a Spec II update as every online-capable GT game has offered so far. And I expect one, as with all you guys throwing epical tantrums to remove every pixel of Standard content - this is tracks too - that's going to mean a skimpy GT7. Unless PD has their modeling staff working eight days a week on upgrading as much as they can to at least Premium "standards." ;)

This makes a two year-plus wait for GT7 a distinct possibility, and a Spec II update for Sport entirely possible as well. So I suggest you follow my lead and ask for stuff.

When was the Spec II update released for GT6?

And why would the content of GT7 be skimpy if it's two years away? That's 5 years of modeling effort after the release of GT6. Even at 50 cars per year that's 250 more cars on top of the 400 or so existing premiums. That could be 10+ new tracks + variations. More than enough content for a full GT game.

Follow your lead and ask for stuff:lol::lol:

Welp :lol::lol: research is a helpful tool:cheers:

Yeah, that's true, I was thinking one of the major updates we got in GT6 was a Spec II, like the Course Maker, one of them was quite large. It's also three hours past my bedtime, but I want to keep relishing the moment of this reveal. Spark discussion, not criticize everything. ;)

And if you don't want to ask for anything of Sport, ever, by all means.

It's still unknown what Campaign Mode in GTsport is exactly. It could be a glorified tutorial.

Now i don't know. But i certainly want to look at it in a positive way.

I wouldn't expect any pre 2000's cars to be in GT Sport since they're focusing on modern motorsport.
Damn, im still optimistic

Playing GT4 as we speak.
How far are you in the game?
