I absolutely agree that's why forza outclasses every sim its not even close.
I'm glad that gt sport is a bad game it gives forza more room to take over the sim racing. forza 6 is already at 12 million sold.

Be careful guys, you all know where this leads to.

I always thought Forza has a good balance of cosmetic and mechanical damage. OK the cars are a little more robust than is realistic but if they were like those of Beam NG I think it would take out some of the enjoyment. It is after all a game, and we are not professional racing drivers.

Just imagine all the anger lots of people would get while playing GTS if they had realistic damage... Oh man, every touch on a wall or other car causing huge damage... so many rage quits and broken CDs.
Would be funny, 5 lap races around the new Tokyo track would take 3 hours to complete lol

everything I seen so far screams gt6 2.0

Sure, by seeing those compressed videos on youtube... Fortunately not everyone judges the game just by watching youtube videos...

BeamNG doesn't have licenced cars. They'd never be allowed to do this with real cars.

I said this a few months ago. I was flamed a lot for saying manufacturers don't want their cars destroyed like in BeamNG. haha

Stefano Casillo of Kunos says that manufacturers not allowing damage in sims is an "urban myth".

I would agree that no game has done damage to a superb standard but you can't deny that many have done it to a much better degree than GT. Perfect may not be possible, "much better" definitely is.

GT is light years away from that sort of damage in terms of both visually and the physical repercussions.
Sorry but that looks ****, good point for falling parts, but damage modelling is very poor

Is it proven that it's a myth ? All manufacturers allows damage ? I find very hard to believe Stefano at all, unless the majority of racing game devs says the same thing.

No you should have not done it at all, continue to try and do so and your membership will be at risk.
I understand. What I meant was, I didn't mean for it to be taken like that, but looking back it was very mod-like. Won't happen again :)

Watching the video in full hd he is driving with front comfort hard/rear racing hard.

:lol::lol:

I could not see why he was understeering on every corner, now i know. I imagine what he thought about that experience, if he did not realized that he had different tires on...

I don't think he's speaking for all manufacturers, just the ones he's dealt with. So you're calling him a liar? That's a pretty serious accusation. Damage in AC isn't extensive but you can put some serious dents and scratches in the body panels, break the windshield and of course blow up your engine or transmission, virtually that is, no visual representation. IMO they choose not to model extensive damage because they consider it a niche feature and a waste of resources and I think PD and others are basically the same. I don't care one way or the other about extensive visual damage I'm more concerned about the simulation of damage to the car. Blown engines, transmissions, brake issues, aero comprimised by hitting something etc.

Like I said SMS told us the restrictions from manufacturers on damage. I'll try to grab some exact quotes.

In comparison to reality? Yes, it isn't brilliant. In comparison to GT games it's miles better and I'll take that any day over 'thud' and drive away.

I think damage models similar to Forza's would be better suited to a slider mechanism.

Giving the user options to set up how "brittle" the damage is. From cardboard to Tank!

Actually it's a good thing the troll mentioned relatively poor Forza sales. Wonder how GT spin off title can perform.

3mln ?

Well, there's still a big fanbase, and the game doesn't seem that bad at all (some opinions may vary)... If people are open minded enough, it will sell well, but then again, today is more about joining the bandwagon, so right now the bandwagon says "GT sucks, sounds are like vacuum cleaners, not going to buy", and that makes people's judgment completely wrong.
From what I saw, the game progressed very well in the space of 24h, with huge differences in the builds on the presentation. With 5/6 months to go, there's room for an improvement in quality.

What are we supposed to be taking from that video?

We are supposed to take into account that some reviews might be misleading because of similar mistakes.

Yes, and don't forget the patches of developments.
