Hmm
Jann Mardenborough ( "GT Academy" former professional racing driver
I noticed that as well. It's either A) poor translation (which does frequently happen with Japanese -> English) or B) accurate.
He's definitely not a former racing driver, so it has to be former GT Academy? But, once a GT Academy winner, always a GT Academy driver, by recognition purposes.
Ukyo katayama ? the real kamikaze driver simulator confirmed!I love how it's translated 'Formula 1 Driver' into 'Four Mueller one driver'
Amazing
edit: this guy, btw

Take it as assumption then if that makes you feel better. Every software or games are made with specific design specification and requirements, and the reality is PD choose specific level of physics in their game to develop. PD knows the level of simulation possible to be made, they choose to limit it. You can say that holding back, as part of business decision. If you suggest PD do not holding back or do not intentionally lowered the physics level in GT5/6, then PD may have been the most incompetent dev with lots of money in the world. Back in 2003, we have NR2003, the physics alone would have been possible in 2007 for console, but no one dare to take the risk making such game.
I only say what I think is the most likely scenario based on what PD have made ( GT5/6 ) and how much progress made in GTS physics. Very slow improvement, not sure if it's possible not to be intentional.
It all depends. In PCars I didn't but that was because it gave no option to turn music on during races and whilst I'm able to play music through USB on PS4, it gets tedious having to jump back and forth between the game and the media.
However, most of the time I leave the music on. In GT6's case I had my own custom soundtrack. But in GT1-GT4 I never turned off the soundtrack. It helped the races go by faster. GT5/GT6 while there were some enjoyable songs I liked driving to, I would have ultimately turned music off if it weren't for custom BGM. Of PD gives me a GT6 type soundtrack, expect me to have it off.
If they give me a GT3 type soundtrack or a soundtrack similar to Le Mans 24 Hours or so, then yes I will gladly leave it on. Music to me adds atmosphere and puts me in my zone.
Japanese PS Blog posted more info about the upcoming Japanese event.

It will be streamed on the official Gran Turismo youtube channel as well, so easy access for all of us to watch.
Plus all these people will be there.
Kazunori Yamauchi ( "Gran Turismo" series producer)
Ukyo Katayama (the original Four Mueller one driver / Super GT300 GOODSMILE RACING & TeamUKYO Director)
Jann Mardenborough ( "GT Academy" former professional racing driver / SUPER GT GT300 NDDP RACING affiliation)
Omura UmiFutoshi (Junior cart driver)
Omura KoOsamu (Junior cart driver)
Takuya Takahashi (FIA Gran Turismo championship pre-season test champion)
Tomilin IsamuYu (FIA Gran Turismo championship pre-season test champion)
Kendo Kobayashi (talent)
Akiyoshi Nakao (talent)
Honestly - being a guy that HATES the MX-5 and wants it killed with fire, I honestly have to say this time around, I will enjoy driving it as well. This new MX-5 is a lot nicer than its predecessors. Not as feminine, not as boring. It looks fun to drive now, finally!
I hadn't even noticed that with the translation.
Google translator is clearly drunk.
Do not miss the @Scaff's feedback about the physics in the news page!I like your emphasis in physics-handling model of GT series as it is indeed the most important factor for a car game to me also along with AI, car-track variety, weather-time of day variations, etc. BUT! You underestimate PD's personnel ability to evolve and stay with the rest in that specific area.
I will remind to all that GT5 was a HUGE step forward from all previous GT games in handling-physics. Much more closer to realistic car behaviour, wet-dry alterations in real time were there for 1st time in GT franchise and the one behind the evolution was the hugely talented guy who made the physics-handling model of Enthusia game back in PS2 era which to many was AHEAD OF ITS TIME for console gaming although not so much perfected. GT6 was another important step forward also imho as the understeering factor became less prominent then ever before and allowed to setup cars without going very far from normal values as in previous games for the most cars.
So, if GT5-6 were the best in physics-handling aspect of their era in console gaming before the next-Gen consoles arrives, there is potential for sure in PD to make a much better engine about physics-handling. I would just like to know if this is their main target atm. I hope so at least. GT7 is my hope for the complete next gen GT game though. GTS seems to be a GT5 prologue with online element above all but will show what is coming next for sure.
Driving in the game should be easy for those who know how to drive in real life. What I think he means by driving is actual performance driving situations and not everyday commuting to work driving. I agree with him on this statement. If a game has a good physics engine, there should be no learning curve for those who know how to drive a car fast in real life.Katz is right on one thing, driving is easy. Yes even my mum can drive a car. Can she get from last place on the grid to first in 3 laps racing against competent drivers in similarly powered cars on a racetrack? No.
Can she even drive a 500bhp car at over 50% of its performance without crashing? Doubt it. So what was kaz's point really?
Ridiculously poor AI and I doubt someone from VVV chose anything but the hardest difficulty. Guess it's a good thing there is no single player career, with AI like that what would be the point.
"But it's a beta!"
"It's not finished!"
Save it. They've had decades to get AI right, they're not suddenly going to magically crack it in three months.

They have to sell it in Japan though so I very strongly suspect super GT will be in it for that reason. Likewise NASCAR to sell it to the Americans although I'm nowhere near as sure on that one.I'd say it'd be more along the lines of what we've already seen.
Super GT is great, but it's not an official FIA series, just like NASCAR.
Although that most likely holds no bearing to anything be included. Tokyo Expressway isn't exactly an FIA track.

Yikes
This is the worst so far. Horrible engine sound, headache inducing tire screech and slow AI.
"PS4 is a blank canvas"
VR is a new kinect...
There is literally no reason whatsoever for me to buy this game at all. That's not bad for someone who has bought every previous GT game.Yikes

Edit. I suspect I should have quoted @Samus I was just responding to the vvv video.
