I'd blame that on whoever the hell is the US Sanctioning body, they more or less would be the ones that would have to give approval for that to be available for the US Residents (I imagine the issue is similar with Canada). As said though, its not final so for all we know its still going through approval.
What was? I'm still not sure what exactly this digital licence offers above just going to your local racing school and signing up. You're still going to have to go out in a real car and it's still going to cost money so what is the benefit? As far as I can tell it'll count towards your classroom tests/exams and that's about it.

Maybe PD it's still negociating with the motorsport bodies arround the world to give them the authority for the license. It would be really odd to just have Mexico and Belize representing America, and not Argentina, Brazil, or Chile. Knowing the Touring y Automóvil Club del Perú and Automovil club peruano (Peruvian motorsport's body), they will accept in a snap lol

They really need to hire someone who has a good command of English and it's nuances. I know it's Gran Turismo and it's supposed to be a little quaint and quirky but after 20 years it's starting to just look amateurish:

'Team Toyota' with drivers from around the globe.
Scheduled race time allocated for each driver?
Not sure how much stock to put into what was shown on the Companion App.
But a few things.
Time Trial events mention 'Laguna Seca' and another mentions 'Ford GT'.
Someone added a new livery to open gallery.
Someone wanted to create a Drift club to earn the 'Drift medals'.
And a 'Token exchange' menu option.
Medals.
Tokens.
Perhaps one of these is the second number on the profile page below Credits?

I'm going to be wondering about this until there is zero chance of time of day transition being in the game. Which right now, Kaz says. But for a 24 hour enduro, that sounds so weird, I'm wondering if this is a big Rick roll thing to be revealed. I won't get my hopes up, but I'm wondering if nothing else, if they could work on it further and patch it in some day.
That's what I was going to say. I thought those wondering about "more money" were out to lunch. That sounds much more like it. And so now, how do we acquire Tokens? Win online events? Offline challenges?

This is an interesting screen. Seems to indicate that it won't be the top overall drivers that make it to the finals but the top drivers from each country. While it makes for the most "equality" and "fairness" I suppose, it pretty much guarantees you won't have many of the best drivers in the world there and that some of the drivers might not be quite up to pace.

I hadn't picked up on that.
Hopefully they have considered that scenario.

Just finished playing it. Hmm... certainly fun, very hard to judge the physics in a show environment. First impressions are that tyre physics have really improved. I thew around the mx5 on the ring, it was great fun. But I didn't like the wheel feel or rather it felt quite different to my t500rs setup and I found it hard to judge the weight of the car . You really need more time to get used to a new wheel.
Those worried about strange car movement just don't be. I saw the most natural spins and car collisions.
I also asked Kaz in my horrible Japanese to make a GT API and he said he would give it some thought haha.
Oh and the sound. . Again hard to hear but good and bad. Engine sounds are much better but other sounds like the transmission are just missing. Some cars like the Hyundai sounded great though, you can hear it over everything when someone selects one.

Anyways as it was said, they'll probably add it. I mean hell, everyone seemed to take notice in that, but the funny part is the nation of the company who makes the game itself isn't even on the list either. So...clearly it's not a finalized thing.
