@Dionisiy those pictures are amazing..... thanks for providing them :)

Do you suppose those shots of the 'ring are part of 'scapes' or do you think they could be race photos? Interesting how the lighting differs for each of them. Could be an insight of the different lighting conditions we can set at the start of a race.

I saw the stream today at 4:15am here in Italy. Well, I thought that they'll show new content or new trailer along the event, but basically that was the same identical show like London, only for Kaz's country.
Even the slides are the same.

So. 256 cars. That's either a lot of DLC or you can buy multiple numbers of a car then.

As for the racing - Was it Kaz in London who said he thought it would have been a good idea to allow the players more practice? Someone did.

Lol, or it's the amount of cars in their garage? More likely...

I'm surprised nobody here noticed that already, It's been working correctly for over a month now.

I think they're relating to GTS, surely you don't mean GT6 as it hasn't been updated in months?

Which is what I thought as well. My point stands. If you have 256 cars it means either DLC or multiple versions of cars bought....

I guess there's many possibilities, it could be every car + all the reward cars from events, or a hint at DLC.

Or they've bought multiples (no reason why that wouldn't be possible as it was in every other GT) but that begs the question, why? Just to bump up that number in the picture?

Who were PD Yamada and PD Ueda? Were they present at the event - didn't notice anyone playing else besides those introduced on stage; or playing online from PD offices; or even special AI??
I think they had to play in the side of the stage.

I hate that GT always passes off photomode shots as representative of in game graphics. Lots of the general population and general media buy it hook line and sinker and use these photos to justify it's superiority over other games. GT Sport looks nothing like that!

From the videos I've seen, most of which have totally useless people driving, which is useful to see different aspects of the physics at work, thanks to them crashing, spinning, and going off the track constantly, I'm not convinced the physics are going to be much different to GT6.

At low resolutions in cruddy youtube videos, so you can't tell how much better the graphics are than GT6, the videos look identical to GT6 videos. I agree that we can't assess the physics properly before we actually try the game, but the way the cars react to sudden inputs, to bumps, to contact, to grass or gravel, looks exactly the same as GT6. They all look very generic, and very un-lively.
Good example of this:

Not exactly the same as GT6,but just one step forward on blank canvas PS4.

But that just isn't using the full physics engine nor full inputs, you can clearly see it. The cars move much better when you play it. Remember that this is meant to be streamed to thousands. The data they send needs to be compact, they have to cheat wherever they can.

It's true, the online representation of the vehicle movement is heavily compressed.

But watching videos of the local play I would have to agree that the underlying model is broadly the same. If they've been able to tweak it to be more accurate and more authentic in feel, so much the better. The low speed tyre model is of particular concern, so I'm keen to try the new one out.

It still looks weird, due to that combination of excessive damping and the tethered nature of the car's body movements. Time to reduce the level of aggregation in the model.

They really need to hire someone who has a good command of English and it's nuances. I know it's Gran Turismo and it's supposed to be a little quaint and quirky but after 20 years it's starting to just look amateurish:

Grid starts confirmed! With false start! I'm still on the ledge about it, cause I see no way of drag racing. But I wish I could change my vote to maybe.:indiff:

I don't think they're teasing anything but it also doesn't look like they had an even grid and just covered them because what three manufacturers could go between Alpine and Aston Martin? According to Wiki only two exist, Arash and Ascari. The latter is possible, the former extremely unlikely.

Mind you alphabetically there is no space for Subaru before Suzuki so who knows what is going on. Mini should go after Merc, Volkswagen after Toyota and one more empty space.

Anyone else find it curious that at 3:14 the there is a huge gap from first to second and then, after 30 seconds of being flat out with no benefit of the draft, the gap is next to nothing?
Well, I find that quite a normal footage. The Kesselchen climb consist of those two lefts that might interfere the drafting. After those, nearer Klostertal, the Mac seems to catch the #1 a bit. Dunno if the #3 does any disturbance to Mac's aero being so close to the rear. (I'm no Adrian Newey.)

Well your question was directed at Gordon, not me. I was just pointing out that plenty of last gen wheels are supported in most PS4 racing games, as you said "Those aren't viable unless you have some sort of complicated adapter but if I remember correctly here is no old wheel support on the newest gen consoles."

Anyway, I was just asking because there are a lot of wheel players in other racing games on PS4 that don't use official wheels, me being one of them, and as I said, I'm not paying $500 + the price of GTS just to play it.

Edit: If someone could ask Kaz, or anyone at PD really, it'd be much appreciated.

I know that, he was the one giving you theoretical insight thus me asking by extension benefited you since you're the original person seeking insight. They just like many others when the console originally came out don't really care though if you don't want to pay 500 dollars to use your 5 year old wheel (just an arbitrary number not saying you do). Which is what I'm trying to point out. We're talking about an official PS4 title from a Sony first tier dev, so it comes to reason that the official sony wheel will be probably the main one they want you to use.

That doesn't mean they wont have thrustmaster or fanatec (I doubt the fanatec)

T500RS works on driveclub so it will with GTS

I'm sure any wheel that endorses GT that doesn't have an updated product in that lineup will work, my point was more directed at those probably hoping that their DFGT or G25 or 27 or T300 or whatever outdated kit. T500RS while old was only a couple years old when DC was released so why wouldn't it work... Also why is a year old game that was in development much longer before that, the ideal of what GTS will be using hardware wise. Especially when this game (GTS) is geared toward the 4.5 PS even if it's been showcased on the 4.
