Where was he complaining about the game?

Most of the time I see his avatar in this thread he's complaining about the game, which is not a problemn, but now he's also complaining about other user's posts about the game. That's what I need to roll my eyes.

It's not unreasonable to expect people to use the thread literally dedicated to images and videos for image dumps. Loading some pages can be taxing on mobile – where a signifcant portion of our userbase does their browsing these days – so while it can be expected over in that thread, people shouldn't have to deal with it here too.

Isn't that thread used to post oficial trailers, videos and screenshots, like some kind of repository of the game's media?

So it's not allowed to post images, videos or gifs outside of the "Trailers, Videos and Screenshots" thread?

Considering what you showed him was something he already acknowledged, and was even talking about in the post you quoted, the .gifs just seem absolutely unnecessary. It's at that point you need to start thinking generously about what was mentioned.

I for one can't stand .gifs, that's why I usually avoid the other thread completely.

For this thread, a few gifs or so is fine if you're using them to showcase the performance of game. A wall of gifs isn't.

Not sure about mobile browsers, but you can *stop* the page from loading at any point to avoid downloading those gif's because it will load the text of the page first, and you should be able to view the half-loaded webpage.

Why is it?

When people start to mention that the crowd moves it was noted on the grandstand, and I remember someone even asked for a gif of that. I noticed that the crowd also walks around at the paddock. I haven't paid attention to that before, and thought it was cool to share that detail with other users. I made the gifs to ilustrate that. What's wrong with this?

Why are we even talking about this when people post media all the time in every forum? It's a great tool to ilustrate things. What year are we that media is an offense to some users? ... are we still in the era of the 56k modens?

I was away from GTplanet for years because I didn't had a ps3 to play GT5 and GT6. Now I'm back and if posting media in this kind of thread is not welcome than I just apologise to anyone like you offended, and will be out again.

Posting the odd bit of media every now and again is perfectly fine. However, at the moment it's every second or third post with you. As @ImaRobot said, unnecessary.

You ask, but seeing as how you already quoted my previous post, I assumed you had read it. I guess I was wrong.

I'll repeat: a lot of users use a mobile device to browse GTP. A page full of image dumps plays havoc on that - to say nothing of data usage - so it's simply considerate to not do overdo it.

Posting media has never been banned in this thread, but when people cross-post a bunch of media in here and in the other, dedicated thread, they're just needlessly bogging down the page.

@Streeto - sadly, at least in the case of Chrome on iPhone, stopping the page can cut it off halfway if it's a longer one. :(

Project cars physics are overly amazing :bowdown:.

GT sport physics will be unbelievably amazing :bowdown:

Assetto corsa physics will undeniably amazing.:bowdown:

All three games will be amazing but then there are the sofa experts :lol::lol: on vehicle dynamics here who happened to be Motorsport development engineers. Who's opinions formula 1 teams and drivers must value highly on the subtle differences between vehicle dynamics.

"Let's go Champ"..... Let's get ready to rumbleeee. Lol
I can't even right now with this post.

The NX gamer review shows why they had an old build playable at the copper box, the new one rarely hits 60 and fluctuates around the 53 mark (with a lot of tearing) AF seems too low and AA needs a bit of work (during gameplay but fine during replays).

Ofcourse this is stuff that gets improved at the latter end of the but they still have some work to do, interested to see weather and how the frame rates get affected.

Sounds are improved but still need work to be on par not industry leading which they should be.

I love media. It's a poweful tool in forums. I like to use them. I like when other people use. From all the forums I post, that's the first time I need to handle this situation. People upset because someone lost their time to make a cool media to share with other people who are interested in the same subject. I'm shocked.

But if that's how things works here, then don't worry. I'm leaving the forum.

See you guys on the track when GTS releases.

Bye, bye. Don't forget to pick your nose up on the way out ;)

Why is it?
Because, why is it necessary to show him something that he already knows about? He had already acknowledged the existence of it, so its not like posting these did anything to help him understand something.

Because you keep bringing it up.

No, you seem to be twisting it into some weird situation that literally no one even mentioned.

Ideally forum would allow for users to load the images on demand and not for everyone. 💡 Sounds reasonably doable but maybe it isn't ? No idea.

Waiting for that night and/or rain. Can't judge FPS right now as it's all being updated and developed. I don't expect a fully locked 60FPS like Forza but neither another GT6.

I see GTS having some minor dips like Dirt Rally on PS4. Maybe a tad more than that. Not ideal but that's what I expect given PD pursuit of eye candy.

Not sure how VR will work if that's the case (dips) but perhaps less cars on track (12 instead of 20 on regular PS4) to allow for rock solid 60fps.

Judging by the 'Likes' the gifs of @jpbonadio are a success...
How do you measure success in this case? Because if 6 people out of 260,000 means it's a success, than I must be one of the most successful considering my useless picture got 12 likes. Likes are irrelevant.

Either way, it was never about it being "successful" or not.

No one is denying they are popular, but a hallmark of GTP is that the site is user friendly and organized. Spamming up discussion threads with video/gif content when there are threads dedicated to just such a thing makes GTP slow and cumbersome on mobile and slower computers. People get into a discussion thread and a video here or there is fine and doesn't hold up the page loading too much. If things are slow loading because discussion threads are overwhelmed with video content people will avoid the thread on the slower tablets, phones and pcs.

Look at the previous...In my humble opinion, i think it was a success...

That's fine if you think so, but I was never saying it wasn't in the first place. I was saying it being "successful" or not is not the reason its being discussed.

I liked almost every post with gifs, but I certainly would appreciate it if they'd have their own thread, I have a monthly quota of download data so this doesn't help at all.

Create a GTSport Gif Thread and lets move on.
There's already one! The trailer-videos-screenshots" thread

Yeah, i would prefer to see gifs in that thread, not here, as Kyle said, it makes the the page too heavy for mobiles like mine, I'm right now replying in my phone and it too hevy for ir :/

We're in an era where people still post gifs which are way worse in both quality and file size compared to modern formats like webm or mp4.

Page loading isn't the issue for me personally, but when I skimmed through the latest 15 pages or so recently, your gif posts on every page slowed down Firefox a lot. It's okay if you post occasionally but baiting for likes on every page with 5 big gifs gets annoying.
