True, especially with the previous GTs. :) Although GT5/6 (to me of course) didn't capture the same feeling and fun the old GTs had, so I'm hoping GT Sport can make up for that and be the best GT game ever made. :D:tup:

I think this detail is often overlooked, but presentation is important. That's what help contribute to capture this feeling of fun that the old GTs did. The menus in GT5 and GT6 are so bland and uninspired and sadly GTS doesn't look much better. PD used to do a good job in this area.

The Arcade Menu in GT3 for example was great. PD put their awesome replay camera skills to use and showcased previews of the cars ripping around the selected track. It helped build up anticipation to race. PD needs to inject some excitement into their menus again. Little things like this go a long way and leave a lasting impression.

Man the nostalgia in that video. :embarrassed: I agree with this although GTS has something like that in its track selection(?) in one video, but sadly (imo) it didn't felt as exciting as the ones were in GT3's track selection. I will do anything to have a GT that is similar in fun like GT3. I think PD are just bored making GT nowadays or simply lack imagination. :\

The music alone helps a lot. GT1 to 3 were really fun with nice soundtrack. Since Gt5 prologue Poly has adopted a classy/jazzy style.

Just let us fall off the canyon and call it a day!

...and then, you must buy another car...I would like to see it.

RUF works marvelously as a Porsche stunt double so long as I create a set of conditions that make the comparison favourable and meaningless at the same time. In other words it's great but goodbye 356, 904-6 GTS, early 911'sm 914, 944, 928, 924, Panamera, 550 RS Spyder, 904, 908, 917, 956/962, 935, Moby Dick, 919 Hybrid and all the other iconic cars that Porsche has made. No big deal, let's just ignore most of the racing history of the greatest marque in the history of closed cockpit racing. (IMO).
Depending on the car, because of course there are historic Porsches, but that's a different story.
Johnny, I find it odd that you find it necessary to correct statements that need no correction. Rather odd, don't you think. Lol.

While I absolutely agree RUF is in no way a replacement for Porsche proper - and the suggestion that it is is laughable -
And why is it laughable? I have a feeling that the RUF people would take issue with any assertions that their cars are not worth consideration in the Porsche legacy. But if you have any suggestions as to which automobile would be a better substitute for Porsche, I'm all eyes.

No other automobile could be a substitution for Porsche. That's kinda the whole point ;)

I know I didn't complain when GT2 dropped with the Ruf's we were given. I wasn't thinking about why Porsche wasn't in the game. I was overjoyed Ruf were even included!

I don't miss Porsche in PCars because of the RGT-8 GT3. I do like having the choice of making a 964 in F6. If Porsche and or Ruf aren't in GTS, what can we do? I hope we get a big surprise and PD announce Porsche is "For the first time ever in Gran Turismo Sport." ;)

I hope too that surprise to happen. But if RUF would be ditched I think many would miss a certain little yellow bird's aura. ;) No Porsche can replace that legend, in my opinion.

And why is it laughable?

The rest of my post should've cleared that up: RUF can only cover a tiny, mostly 911-shaped portion of Porsche's vast motorsport history, and that's even accounting for GT Sport's large amount of PD-designed substitutes. Go on, head over to the official site, and tell me how well that covers Porsche's motorsport pedigree.

I have a feeling that the RUF people would take issue with any assertions that their cars are not worth consideration in the Porsche legacy.

It's probably a good thing that that assertion wasn't made by me, then.

But if you have any suggestions as to which automobile would be a better substitute for Porsche, I'm all eyes.

None. Porsche is Porsche. Ruf is a fine automaker in its own way, but it complements Porsche, not stands in for it.

Sadly, I'm doubting we'll see the Yellowbird in GTS. :(

The way GTS is, as for Porsche, I'd only see the Cayman in Gr.N & Gr.4 form, the 911 Gr.N & Gr.3, 918 and 919. No classic cars.

Comparing the addition of a few cars to each class, to the addition of a full racing series is in itself bizarre.
Does anyone know how the F1 license works since there is already an official game for it? And now, which season should be making into the game? 2015? 2016? 2017? Or older, more beloved seasons? If so, which ones? Which cars would be possible to model? Which wouldn't? How would that affect the rest of the game after that much trouble for just one class? So many questions, and I'm sure there are a lot more to ask, but only PD knows the reasons why the didn't add F1 and other open wheel series. They could simply use the FGT from previous games, but, for some reason, they didn't, was it FIA? What was it really? Do you know? If so, share with us!

The VGTs are already in the game, F1 and the respective licenses never were. If FIA agreed to the homologation of those VGT, what can we do? It's just an extra for those who want something different, while at the same time meeting the requirements of said category.
To me, it wouldn't be worth the trouble adding a full F1 grid, at the expense of the other series. Would anyone want an half-assed Gr.1 with just 2 cars? And the same for the rest of the categorys? I personally wouldn't want that, i'd rather not have F1, but have the rest of the classes fulfilled, than getting a full F1 grid, and the rest renegated to the side.

And don't forget, they don't know how well this game will sell, since it's a spin-off, so adding some classes could be prohibitive due to it's licensing costs. Maybe in the next game (GTS2, if ends up happening), if they have a more secure foundation, they will take more risks.

You realise there is far more to open wheel racing than F1, right? Nobody was suggesting they should have added a full F1 grid but there are literally hundreds of various feeder open wheel series around the world they could have included, as well as fictional versions. Most feeder series are also spec series, so it'd be one car to model.

As for being prohibitive to license costs, this is PD, a first party studio with a budget bigger than nearly everyone else. F1 might be off the table, but if other devs can license other series it's no excuse for PD.

Open wheel is a huge part of motorsport, it's very disappointing not to see it featured in this game.

But with RUF around to provide a chassis for both street and racing machines,

RUF have no real life racing machines. They've allowed video game makers to create their own but that in no way makes up for the real Porsche racing cars of today.

Okay folks, please help me out 'cause I'm feeling lazy. :P

We have (hopefully) Jordans report/interview from E3 incoming.
What is the next best opportunity that's been thought of, barring a random GT web-site update, for new details and footage?

The competition will launch in August, so please register your details below and we will let you know how you can compete for your chance to be the next Nissan GT Academy athlete."

I knew this was going to be like 2013 (with gt6)! :D

It is a testament to Polyphony's engineering, how well Gran Turismo 3 has aged! :)

No it's not. There is no public demo going on PSN, it's just a beta version running at live events in a very limited number of countries.

Yep, that's my understanding.
Limited beta version too.
