I don't think that FIA would prohibit PD to put SO MANY cars. Wait one car here, two there... but 300 cars, that would be insane.
Yes, I think FIA does not have a lot of authority for the selection of the car. However, they will think that it is possible to convey the opinion a little. For example ... "Want to have a 20 manufacturer to the Gr.3".
(I expected to Nations Cup final is Gr.1 race, manufacturers fan cup final is Gr.3 race)

I don't know which one to trust because the same day Kaz will be at Hong Kong (There is a schedule and google is your friend^^):

Kaz will appear on both Hong Kong and Shanghai next weekend.

Hong Kong:July 29th, Shanghai:July 30th

There is a mistake in the information of the official webpage for PlayStation China ,they wrote both the wrong time (july 29th) and the correct time (july 30th) on the page.

Must say, I'm far more excited for Assetto Corsa and Forza Horizon 3 in August and September than for GTS. Is it just me or am I missing something? Those fantasy VGTs just don't appeal. Sorry I've tried to get excited about them but just can't....We then have quite a few fantasy (yet again) GT3 and Group B cars) Just strikes me as very lazy that PD couldn't be a##### to find real life models to use. Let's hope the remaining 67 cars are worth getting excited about....

I somewhat agree with this, I don't think that the game needs to focus more on real cars. Specifically race cars.

I really looking forward to Assetto Corsa but, Forza Horizon 3, not that much... nothing at all.

I think that GTS can be HUGE in many aspects. Let's just wait and see. Unfortunately, i have to buy BF1 and GTS and another TH8A.... so my money is kind of short now, maybe i'll have to skip AC for a while, but i'll definitely try to buy it on the release.

Drove the M6 GT3 back to back IRL and in Gran Turismo Sport several times [...]

Whatever PD has in store they better reveal it soon. So far, nothing in GT Sport has wowed me like Forza Horizon 3 did, such as returning features, enhanced customization, new cars, horns, and many others including the gameplay. I'm not sure if PD has anything else to hide, or they've finally run out of features to show off cause photomode just ain't doing for me. It seems like all they have now is improving the engine sounds, AI etc. (which I'm fine with to be honest).

Come on PD you are better than this...

Do you think it's a kind of confirmation for the M6 GT3?

Well,

-It was driven by Kaz
-It had playstation on it and Gran Turismo/GT Academy somewhere on it
-It Drove in the Nurburing 24 Hour

Yeah, its in.

It's shaping up to be quite an exciting game if, like me and many others, you're into GT3 racing. With the inclusion of the GT3 M6 I make that 16 GT3 eligible cars. With livery editor to boot I can't see the grids looking too samey for a while. If there are any other racing disciplines that are half as well supported I'll be very happy.

I second this :dopey:
I'm not really big on the standard M6, but any kind of new metal to the GT series will interest me. In fact, one of the reasons why I'm so excited for this game is that there are plenty of new vehicles...

That seems...odd. 2 seconds on an 8 minute lap? Surely you'd get more variation than that just between the state of the track and the weather/temperature conditions in real life.

I don't think being close on lap time actually means much in that particular circumstance, and being that close seems artificial more than anything else.

I forgot somewhere in the GTS forum, But there is a video that Kaz have said about it. I think that it was the video from Facebook.
Kaz has stated this. "I joined the Nurburgring24h in M6 GT3, create a virtual M6 GT3 at that time, prepare the GT in the garage. So we tried a setup. "

If the conditions in game match real life, you will get comparable lap times in a good simulation. Rene Rast was running within a second at LeMans for example, using Project Cars. It's not hard in AC to do the same thing if you set the track grip levels at less than optimum and with comparable ambient temperatures but many times, even under optimum conditions, times are very, very close. Wikipedia, for example, lists the best GT3 lap time at Brands Hatch as 1:23.268 in the Audi R8 LMS Ultra. In Assetto Corsa it's 1:23.398 and in Project Cars it's 1:22.720. Emerson Fittipaldi qualified the Lotus 72D in the 1972 British Grand Prix in second at 1:22.600. Fastest time in AC on RSR is 1:22.438. Note also that most times on the leaderboards are considerably behind that and only the uber aliens can get close to those best lap times. Of course in a sim you don't have to pay for damage or worry about injury or death so you can go 10/10ths all the time and lap times will probably always be a little faster in matching conditions on the sim. But close lap times, I expect that.

Meh. All time best laps, sure, maybe. Totally optimal conditions in reality versus optimal in the sim, ok. We pulled a few laps at times during the week and all our back to back sessions were within 2 seconds still sounds odd.

I assume that they mean that the car feels really similar in the game to the real life one and that sounds great. I'm on board with that. But if the times are actually that close it seems more like just luck that the conditions match those in the game, and actually makes me more skeptical than if they'd just said "we gave it to the drivers in our team and they think it's really good".

It's also of note that we're yet to see things like variable track grip and serious integration of tyre temperatures and ambient conditions in Gran Turismo. I hope this means that we're going to see these things in GTS, but if not then that leans even further towards the "coincidence rather than excellence" conclusion.

"The Wizard" as we like to call him, did the setup for the real car and then transfered the setup in to the game. The difference in laptimes was usully within 2 seconds between real life and the simulation (on a lap that takes over 8 minutes).
Is this a hint that the suspension settings are not broken this time?
I have to see it to believe it.

If this is true, we'll be able to match lap times at Bathurst. I get nowhere near the 2'03" Maro Engel set in the SLS GT3.
