I see Gameplanet have run a story.
It mentions the Slim perhaps coming in cheaper than current models.
And also a new DS4.

So, let me get this straight. One key complaint about the Dualshock 4 was that the rear light is pointless and uses up too much battery in general, causing Sony to put in a battery saver mode that dims the light etc in a past PS4 update.

So, what do they do with the new DS4 iteration? Add another light on the much-used Touchpad.

Absolute poetry.

Looks to me like the same light source just projected out onto the front, so no extra battery usage. For what purpose I've no idea.

Probably because the way it is currently you can't see it during normal play, making it kind of pointless.

Perhaps they are new super premium energy saving LED's. :P

I'll be interested in hearing the specs. for the Slim and hoping it's at least up to par with the current model.
We could be looking at a smaller, cheaper, (better?) PS4, with a (hopefully) improved DS4, soon running on the latest (currently in public beta) PS4 4.0 firmware.
Doesn't sound too bad.

Except a better VR experience, what can we expect from PS4 Neo with GTSport? It's a given they will show it at the Playstation Meeting (I know, wasn't here at E3...). For sure, better AA and resolution, but I'd like to see change on track also with more life. If I see a huge gap between the two versions, I will buy a neo.

Agreed, me too. I've had a PS4 for ages now, would totally consider an upgrade if GT looks good on it.

Didn't someone post something a while back à la "no major differences or advantages on the Neo > regular PS4"? Which means if you want GT Sport to look different on the Neo you're about to be disappointed.

Mine was a gift, so still virtually with 400 euros in the pocket. If the upgrade is not big enough, no purpose in a PS4 neo. A 1080p/60fps (constant) mode but with replay graphics and some added effects is good for me.

Aaaa. Well I doubt there will be much difference. Maybe higher res textures and more stable fps and obviously 4K, but other than that, I don't think there'll be much difference. We'll see. :) @jm79

Not sure if anyone noticing this, the screen flicker when going through sections with fences on nordschleife are back. Most noticeable during the straight section leading to Flugplatz
I am pretty sure it was solved during e3 build whether on-screen record and direct feed gameplay but now at gamescom this is back.

You can notice this when the car is going through the section with fences . Not sure what they did with the gamescom build though. MAYBE this is why PD dont allowed video recording.

Are we sure the AI is improved? this looks identical to GT6.

Aye, we can only wait and see :)

You'd think that FPS would have to match across versions, given the potential issues in competitive play. So I'm thinking it will be merely eye-candy improvements. As @queleuleu mentioned, replay visuals are sexier, but capped at 30fps. Maybe we could get that level in gameplay, with some extras...?

Easy mode.

Replay and gameplay visuals are the same ;)

For PS4 Neo, I still think this version will used for VR only. The base will be identical or almost, maybe a little cleaner, but that's all. But these are just my supposition.....

Not overtaking most of the field in the first few corners.

Good AI can't stop a player passing whilst mostly off track (3 passes), and they can't really defend their line when the player just slams into them (4 passes). He made 4 passes which were clean although in my humble opinion that had a lot more to do with tyres than anything else... and I don't think we saw what he was on vs. the AI cars. edit: He was clearly braking later and decelerating more quickly than some of the cars, the SLS for instance, and had way more corner grip during his lunge for first place.

Seems like an inappropriate set of circumstances to declare it "identical to GT6".

Well in a single player race your car is supposed to be in the same performance range as other AI cars so yea unless this is "Easy" which it probably is, the AI look useless.

When it comes to sim oriented-games, those of which I'm usually much more competitive than with games like NFS, Horizon, or Driveclub, I prefer it to be 60fps. The more, the better in that case, really. It's just always felt more fluid and exact, to an extent, to me.

In this case, I'll always take that rather than to just make something prettier. For those open world, and less serious games, I'm all for it though.

I think the FIA GT championship will be basically GT3 cars. We can expect a RCF GT3 (a recent video with Gran Turismo everywhere

Maybe a Honda NSX GT3 given the strong link between Poly and this car.

More than 20 GT3 cars! It would be cool to add an actual Touring Car class. TCR cars seems to be more and more popular.
