I can get behind TCR in the game. Would make sense to see another 20 cars just from those manufacturers, in Gr.4.

Ugh I can't even play games that are under 60 fps, that's just under my honour
I know someone who complains when a game drops down to 60fps.

Even still, personally I am pretty happy that GTS is playing at 60fps, because frankly it looks as good as DC, if not better (during the day anyway, probably not when its raining ), so 60fps should just be magical.

I'm fine with 30fps for the more arcade-oriented games. Not a problem at all in Driveclub and Horizon, for example.

I really don't want it for sim-style games though. I wish I was one of those people that didn't notice it, but I do. Besides, I'd really like to adopt VR at some point, so even 60fps isn't enough, really!

Touring Cars would be great fun, but it's a lot more contact-y by nature than a lot of other series, so without a good damage model, can't see this working very well.

I'm not a FPS obsessive, but you do need 60. Also Digital Foundry did say, pretty unequivocally, that the DC VR experience is the best VR racing experience, so far. And that's a 'vanilla' PS4 too, I'm guessing that breakout box is doing that frame rate upscale pretty effectively.

Since XBox dropping (V8)Supercars sponsorship(yet, the Supercheap FG X is in FH3), I do wonder if we'll ever see these touring cars back in Gran Turismo.

A Gr.N Falcon XR8/Sprint and Commodore SS or HSV GTS is doable.
A Gr.3 Falcon/Commodore may not have enough aero grip even though they make more power than a GT3 car. Placing them in Gr.4 would be too low. Not sure if PD would seriously fudge the tune to be similar to the Gr.3 Evo and Impreza.

If they were doing V8s they should probably be in a class of their own. They're pretty different to GT cars.

This. I don't care if I get 60 FPS in a racing game again. Why? Because my fun factor didn't change with Driveclub because it didn't run at that speed.
Driveclub isn't a sim.

And you never got to try it at 60fps to compare, either.

People dont require 60fps for sims because it looks smoother, but because the driving requires more depth of skill and precision. Because you need the absolute best response times and visual feedback that a game can give you. It enables you to drive better and have a better feel for the limits. In Driveclub this stuff isn't as important as the cars are comparatively easier to drive, the physics more forgiving of unrealistic and imprecise driving behavior.

I'm not sure PD are going to care about taking cars that as-is are very different performance and looks wise and throwing them all into the same grouping with BOP. After all, they've thrown the ridiculous performing VGTs like the SRT into the same group as LMP1s and I think some of the VGTs they put in Gr.3 were originally nowhere near GT3 performance (or looks/shape).

Truly. I've managed to find it without the text overly by digging around in the HTML, but still not in full.

Ah nice, The Dark Hedges, this is just a few miles away from where I am from!
Was also part of the Kings Road in Game of Thrones!

In my opinion, you can't call something a sim and not be 60FPS.

Can you expand that with a reason why? As @Imari says having 60fps is nicer for pretty much any game but I'm yet to see a solid reason why a sim MUST be 60fps to call itself that. The values of a sim are, unsurprisingly, in how well it simulates various aspects of reality. Not how fluid the motion is.

I don't care if a game is 30fps or 60fps as long as it's fun to play. I find this whole obsession with framerates to be ludicrous and rather unnecessary, unless you're TotalBiscuit.

I agree. Half the time I cannot see any difference or any supposed drop in frame rates.

Once you go play games at 60 fps you can't never get used to 30 fps again.
30 FPS feels like a powerpoint slideshow especially when you used to play games at 60 fps.

The difference is HUGE! Just take a look at the difference here

Make sure you watch at 1080p or 720p

I've played 60 FPS, I notice the smoothness, I can still play N64 Perfect Dark multiplayer at sub-10 FPS

This is typical hyperbole. Yes, there is a noticeable difference. Yes, 60fps is always preferred. No, 30fps is not 'like a slideshow', we wouldn't have settled on that rate for most video formats if it was so bad.

Yeah but we're talking about games. You can say that with movies but not games, 30 FPS is not as responsive as 60 fps. try playing a shooter or a racing game at 60 fps for 30 minutes then play it at 30 fps for another 30 minutes, not only it feels laggy it also make you play the games much worse than you were when you play it at 60 fps.

Amazingly, these are all things that literally everyone else who has played a videogame in the past... I dunno, 20 years, hasn't seemed to have the catastrophic difficulty adjusting to that you seem to have.
