I find that interesting.

In February, it was a "no."

No it wasn't, it was equally open ended.

Sure that is more suggestive to not than yes, but it's not a direct no. It's still a maybe, if we have them ready.

A "maybe"? Not clearly not.

It was not a direct "no" but that meant "no." Everyone understood that.

In March, the speech is clearly different.

Cannot disclosure or could end up in alot of trouble. Coming from Japan and coming from UK people working in Japan.

You do realise that:
1. Everyone will hold you to this statement, even though you have allowed yourself a little leeway with "Polyphony might change the date".

2. If it turns out to be untrue, no-one will let you live it down.

'Tis a dangerous game to play with rabid GT fans...

Not at all. All he has to say is "It was right when I was told it, but Polyphony changed their minds afterwards". Perfect self-fulfilling prophecy. Could be right out of the horoscopes: "This month you will receive something which you have been waiting for a long time, unless matters change."

Which is why any information that doesn't come from the horse's mouth is worthless. And even when the horse speaks, it's still somewhat dubious.

I must say 28th of march sounds very realistic

You're confusing realistic with optimistic. It sounds realistic to you because it's what you want to hear.

If you believe the rest of the Facebook stuff in this thread, then it's decidedly unrealistic to expect that they'll release a beta in three weeks but they're still not sure that they'll be able to say anything this month.

Which was sort of my point, only I didn't express it as well as you did. My point was that if and when the 28th March passes with no news, people who expect news will be angry, rightly or wrongly (and I would argue wrongly). The fact that he's given himself that leeway is in itself suspicious - as you say, it's a very convenient way to admonish yourself of blame. However, I thoroughly expect the 28th March to pass with no news, because I don't believe there to be any connection to Polyphony Digital, or Sony, or that they would simply hand out concrete dates. Won't it be awfully convenient if he says "oh, but plans changed"?

Don't get me wrong, I would love to be proven otherwise about Sony's release schedule for GTS, but this happens a lot, and it happens with all sorts of media. Someone pipes up, claims to know someone important, and that they know something super-secret, and for various reasons, can't go into detail...

Lets say they are releasing it 28th of march, they might do it like the trailer just poof there it is. I don't think they will announce it on facebook before it happens. If they don't announce it weeks before then they don't need to deal with fans expecting the beta on 28th hence they have more room to work with. Also PD isn't really like "western" companies that keep their fans hyped with constant screenshots on facebook and so on. The crew and NFS had closed betas so they had to announce release dates and allow people to sign up but GTsport will be open beta allowing everyone to download it of ps store

I suspect Jordan won't answer now with quality context like that.

You would expect an answer to a GT question!?

Seriously though, I agree with GTEFGHA. The beta will release like the track path editor: No real announcement, no hype from PD themselves. That would be left to GTPlanet and PS blogs etc to do.

Even the 15th anniversary celebrations/GT6 blow out only got a weeks notice.
