I'm not sure it is. GTS can't hope to compete with the car and track list that FM7 will have by then. In most other departments it's swings and roundabouts, except that Forza also has an improved version of the traditional Gran Turismo upgrade and tuning system.

GTS has VGTs and an FIA sticker. Completely devoid of emotion, I don't see why a rational consumer who wants a traditional GT-type game would go anywhere near GTS. GTS as it is described now is competing with pCARS and AC, not Forza. Forza Motorsport is in a class of one. There is no other modern game like it, and the closest competitor is probably Forza Horizon.

I meant it simply as a battle between console exclusive racers, who have historically been very closely linked.

Also, as I mentioned, I don't think there are many people with both consoles who would be in this position to casually choose between the two, as you suggest.

I don't think it will be March because it is only 4 months from their late november launch. Yesterday no other date was given. I expect it won't come out before late 2017.

Could be worse. They could have said 'early 2017' and ensured page upon page of the definition of early again.

Incorrect. Any game that provides similar a racing experience similar to GT Sport is a competitor, sales levels have nothing to do with it. AC, PCars, Dirt Rally, F1 etc., are all competitors on the same console.

There is nothing incorrect unless you like to delude yourself and ignore how companies operate. Sure there may be products that are similar but the consumers or the market dictates any serious competitors to GT and there is none and there hasn't been any for a long time.

Who says I haven't? NFS was a massive franchise ten years ago. MW sold 16 million but the latest NFS games are very disappointing. It debuted at 390k on all platforms during the holiday season in the US. EA doesn't even provide sales figures anymore or shipment figures.

Easy how a little change in perspective can change your view of a whole situation.

GT has competition. Yes it has beaten that competition for pretty much it's entire lifetime so far in terms of single titles but that doesn't mean it can't change, nothing is infallible. There are countless companies who in the past could've trotted out "We're fine, the competition are miles behind us, we're in a league of our own etc etc" and eventually they've disappeared/been overtaken.

Do I think most of GTs userbase will now go out and buy pCARS, AC or an Xbox and not buy GTS when it comes out eventually? No I don't, but they are all potential competition and lost sales that can start adding up eventually. Like I said no product is infallible to being passed by competitors, GT is no different. The fact it lost 6 million sales with the last iteration should at least ring some alarm bells.

Not buying GT Sport again. I have i'm just gonna have to wait.

Better call it Gran Turismo 7 and Sport mode could be a mode among others. Poly doesn't know how to market their game... We want to see a huge career, a lot of people who buy GT don't want to play online. I know in my family, my father and my older don't understand anything of Playstation Network but they liked to play GT back on PS1-2, just for a few races.
