So if you got the ps4 pro and gt sport you will win every race because your game is running better
Your logic is......outstanding.
So if you got the ps4 pro and gt sport you will win every race because your game is running better
If we were talking a difference of 30fps vs 60fps, there would certainly be noticeable impacts on the ability of a given driver to be competitive(though a good driver will always beat a bad driver), but it seems here that the difference isn't gonna be anything like that. If the '50fps' comment wasn't a misquote, then we're talking a difference of 50fps vs 60fps, maybe a difference of having one be a locked 60fps and one 'averaging' 50fps but varying up and down a bit - this will not affect competitiveness *that* much. Maybe a slight edge, but even a minor difference in skill would make a bigger impact. So if you got the ps4 pro and gt sport you will win every race because your game is running better
All this emphasis on photos and admiring the cars and super accurate models and colors and all - just feels 'off' with a game that is going away from the car collecting and upgrading nature of previous GT's.and was bored by the technical presentation/Kaz playing with Scapes.

Dont get me wrong, I love some car porn and I love taking screenshots in games in general, it's just a weird thing to emphasize and prioritize in a title like this.
Yeh, first it was stars now it's red paint.Kaz just can't help himself, that's the problem. I mean there is nothing wrong with that, if he loves the visuals of the machienary that's fine but as you say, it just doesn't really gel with trying to promote a "hardcore" online racing sim with desires to break the eSports market. You don't do that with accurate Ferrari red paint and talking about nits.
I can't remember the last time I actually read/heard Kaz talking at length about the things that matter - physics, race simulation, brake fade, pit stops, tyre strategy, simulation damage etc.
But but, if PD rushes GTS it will won't be a quality title. I perfer them taking as much time as possible to finish the game, even onward to 2035. I mean, it's not like I'm going to forget the fact that GT5 took 5 years and GT6 took 3 years to make, two titles PD SOMEHOW managed to release unfinished in spite of their high budget...They just need to hurry up and release the damn game already.
AC uses FMod software to output their sound. The patch is out on pc and it's glorious. The sound is dramatically improved and now comes with a handful of sliders to allow you to individually tune the sound of engine noise, tires, brakes, wind, road etc. for each car, separately. I believe you can also choose internal or external sound, or at least there's a button there for that. I've never used it myself.
There's a lot that can be done with a good set of samples.

I noticed that in the news, it was said that Kaz has considered outsourcing recently, but is having difficulty with it for some reason. Well, I don't know what he's finding hard about it.
Though, I'm at least glad that he's finally considering the idea.
That's alooooooot of paint chips. Whew! The current standard is 8-bit, meaning there are 256 shades of red, green, and blue each, for a combined total of 16.78 million. While that may sound like plenty, the BT.2020 standard currently mandates 10 or 12-bit color reproduction. 10-bit would offer 1,024 shades for a total of 1.07 billion colors, while 12-bit would offer 4-times that at 4,096 shades for a total of 68.7 billion. With this in mind, it’s clear to see how the new technology could reproduce the more nuanced paint jobs found on GT’s cars.
Furthermore, GT Sport will be “future-proof” when the topic of HDR is considered. Utilizing BT.2020 to its fullest, the engine will support up to 10,000 nits of brightness.

It might be outsourcing the photography/modelling team, since he wants to have the 500 cars by the end of the game life, along with the tracks.More then likely a trust issue considering every single title has entirely been in-house. Who can they trust to maintain the standard that they've had and make it seemless.
That said, the fact that he at least considered it says that he is finally at least thinking about going outside the inner circle and realizing something needs to be done to make these releases happen more often.

In an era where processing power is becoming cheaper and cheaper, screens are getting bigger and bigger and there are more and more finer detail in games, down to blades of grass and cracks in the tarmac, a quadrupling of resolution is anything but a gimmick.
I'd much prefer a 1080/60 than a 2K/50.
4K is still 2160p or double Full HD.
I feel like the common ways of calling the resolutions "1080p" and "4K" has led to a broad misunderstanding. The difference isn't as major as some seem to think.
I agree that resolution increases are natural progress, but 4K is still 2160p or double Full HD.
And this is the sort of confusion it cumulates in. 4K refers to the width, much like calling 1920x1080 "2K" would. If the new standard is calling resolutions by their width (4K, 8K), referring to Full HD as 2K is fairly logic.
4x the resolution refers to pixel density as others have mentioned. It works both horizontally and vertically. You're only measuring the horizontal. No confusion here.I feel like the common ways of calling the resolutions "1080p" and "4K" has led to a broad misunderstanding. The difference isn't as major as some seem to think.

I always take everything Kaz says with a pinch of salt now, when he speaks I don't believe what he is saying. I didn't believe the whole game would be playable in vr and that is now a fact, and I don't believe what Kaz is saying here either. what is difficult about outsourcing? II'm guessing his arrogance leaves him to believe there is no one on the planet who can match their quality. If only sony had the access to a team who had experience modelling cars as well as sound. Oh well shame it was Microsoft which made Driveclub.I noticed that in the news, it was said that Kaz has considered outsourcing recently, but is having difficulty with it for some reason. Microsoft which made Driveclub.
Well, it wouldn't surprise me if it was. This is the first time I've heard him actually consider outsourcing and I assumed that he might be taking baby steps towards going with the idea.More then likely a trust issue considering every single title has entirely been in-house. Who can they trust to maintain the standard that they've had and make it seemless.
Well, I understand why you would do that, but I'm not going to do that with every single thing he says. As for outsourcing, I don't know other than what others have been telling me and what I said above.I always take everything Kaz says with a pinch of salt now, when he speaks I don't believe what he is saying. I didn't believe the whole game would be playable in vr and that is now a fact, and I don't believe what Kaz is saying here either. what is difficult about outsourcing?
Uh, I don't think it's so much arrogance rather than being probably more worried about having someone from another company doing the work that doesn't match what he wants. Also, what are you talking about with Driveclub?I'm guessing his arrogance leaves him to believe there is no one on the planet who can match their quality. If only sony had the access to a team who had experience modelling cars as well as sound. Oh well shame it was Microsoft which made Driveclub.
