I think he's being sarcastic since Driveclub had good car models and also nice sound design whilst also being made by an (ex) Sony studio.

Oh, I get it now. :ouch:

I must admit, though, I never really could get my head around why everyone said Driveclub's sound was so good. It always sounded, by and large, sort of muffly and echoey. Almost like the car's exhaust was down a well and you had cotton wool in your ears. Well, maybe not that bad. It was certainly leagues better than something like GT6, but... I dunno. It always felt off in some way. Forza 6's clean, crisp audio is superior, IMO, and I think I even prefer GT Sport's sound to DC's.

I'm fully expecting criticism for saying this, even though I think DC is a brilliant game with a pleasingly old school vibe. It reminds me of NFS Road Challenge on PS1, with its focus on contemporary performance cars and great track design, with a big focus on dramatic vistas and high quality, showpiece graphics to show off what the console does.

I'm with you here.

I'd definitely say it depends from car to car.

DC's LaFerrari is probably the best sound out of all racing games right now, whereas the RUF's/ most cars with V6's sound very echoey, and off.

I wonder how they're going to handle the DLC. I don't think they'll be able to get away with Forza-esque paid car packs for $1/car.

We've gotten the VGT cars for free. Maybe something like the paint chip pack, tracks and car packs from GT5&6.

I'd rather take paid car packs if it means getting good quality real cars rather than more free VGT rubbish.

Driveclub sound is one of the most natural sounds out there. We only have had the opportunity to hear one car of new GT Sport's sound patch. Let's wait for more complicated things to get sound well like V10, V12 or diesel turbocharged engines. Then we can say if GT new sound is that good.

I think it's same build than :

But no direct sound.... :)

I'm still waiting to get excited about GT SPORT. If better graphics and sound is all that they can say to look forward to, then it is nothing more than an update of the game. Sure there is VR , but we have to fork out for a NEW machine to get this. I bought a PS4 in anticipation of a GRAN TURISMO game , but nothing. All we here is a lot of promises, but all we get is delays. The best part is that when a game DOES come out (GT 5 and 6 ) other than a couple of bells and whistles aside, they are not much better than the previous versions.

No way. Driveclub is a good sounding game, but I'd still say even the best of what it offers is only in the general ballpark of Project Cars on average, and definitely not there with Raceroom Experience.

I found Project Cars' sounds to be pretty lacklustre.

I will agree that Raceroom has the best sounds overall, though.

Yea I do know actually know it's made by Sony lol, I have the game.

Well, it wouldn't surprise me if it was. This is the first time I've heard him actually consider outsourcing and I assumed that he might be taking baby steps towards going with the idea.

Well, I understand why you would do that, but I'm not going to do that with every single thing he says. As for outsourcing, I don't know other than what others have been telling me and what I said above.

Uh, I don't think it's so much arrogance rather than being probably more worried about having someone from another company doing the work that doesn't match what he wants. Also, what are you talking about with Driveclub?
I'm presuming arrogance based on previous statements by Kaz regarding other things too.

Corret. As you say the car models are good. How hard could outsourcing good quality have been when there was good quality in house.

.
Fully agree here, I said pretty the same thing in the AC thread regarding Driveclub. The sounds are decent but there is something lacking. If you close your eyes you csn tell if the sounds are from Driveclub as you can with Gt. Every car has a distinct sound thar screams this game is Driveclub. I'm glad it's not just me who hax noticed it.

Just waiting for a PC equivalent of Gran Turismo.... There isn't a big enough market on PC for me to justify bring my G27 to my dorm. Sure I could ACorsa, but that just lacks the charm that GT has, and Project Cars isn't any better. Physics in Horizon 3 aren't exactly great either...

FM7 next year, in all likelihood.

...Translations? I see a whole bunch of cars at the bottom of the page. Are they coming to GT:S? I can't figure out the relevance of PDI and the COTY Japan. Is PDI doing something unrelated to games again? :P

Basically that. Kaz was on the voting panel.

The first round of the "2016-2017 Japanese Car of the Year" preliminary round was held, "Gran Turismo" series producer Kazunori Yamauchi served on the selection committee, and the top ten "10 best cars" to go to the final selection It was elected.

"10 best cars" is a selection committee of 59 people consisting of car critic, journalists, and experts voted for 35 of the nominees this year and selected the top 10 cars with a high number of votes .

By voting for the final selection, the car of the year of the Japanese car of the year will be decided from among these 10 cars.

The final selection schedule will be held on December 9th.

I hope NOT

Hopefully Fiat or one of the two SUV wins as there is a possibility that the winner will arrive in GTS, however minor it may be.

The M2 or Abarth 124 should win. The rest are all dull as hell and don't deserve a spot in what's supposed to be a more serious game.

If any of those cars game to GT I rather doubt it would be anything to do with this. Kaz is just one of 59 people voting on it, it's otherwise got absolutely nothing to do with Gran Turismo.

Aren't those some of the type of passenger cars people want in the game?

Edit: I'm thinking GTS will be a standalone game and the next GT will be something like GTStreet.

Red Bull has apparently seen the night racing.

The quality improvement brought about by the enrichment in brightness capacity are most obvious during night races when cars have their beams on full and there exists an incredibly high level of contrast between the headlights and darkness around them. One of the problems with displaying this example of high contrast when playing without HDR is that the detail in the brightest areas of the screen is lost as their doesn't exist enough variations in luminance to differentiate between the dark areas and the darks, and the light and the very lightest. As such, for example, the outer edges of a headlight is indistinguishable from its inner core whereas it is visibly separate in HDR.

Surely the track of that night race was Pikes Peak
