Disappointed we are being spoon fed something as a big reveal which was promised and then scrapped already.

5 hours ago the big reveal was posted on their instagram account, its received 335 likes, says it all.
Except it's just an announcement. And instagram is for Selena Gomez and the Kardashians. If only instagram was around during the Industrial Revolution. Or what if it was around during the Renaissance!? How different things might be.

I don't want to start any hype, but...

Looks like a match to me.

More info can be found here.

Edit: @C_R5_575TLR Brightened up the shot a little.

I like how you can make someone get a heart attack just by posting these teasers XD. Looks like a match for me so it might possibly be but who knows?

 Not sure who/what you follow on Insta

To all US players who got the green light for the GTS beta, I can only ask you one favor; Direct feed footage please? :D
There's an NDA in place and I'm presuming GTP will remove any footage they find on the site. (GTP has a good relationship with Sony/PD and I'm sure we don't want to ruin that.)

We also have a thread here talking about the beta.

The chance of the same five tracks is high. No need of new cars and tracks for testing the online mode. They had three opportunities to show new things : the new VGT trailer, the TAG Heuer partnership and the closed beta announcement.
IMO, not the best way to promote a game. I start to think the content must be really thin.

So you mean it already shows 90% of the contents ?

If it is 140 and 15-19, it's not 90%. Not even close.
If there's no news, some people is all negativity about it, if there is news, and a Beta, they still complaing.

I agree. A beta for this type of game is very likely not going to be a mirror of the full, competed version. If by chance it is, it's 90% of the content the completed version will have? The beta will include the full list of tracks and cars? Very doubtful. Best comparison would be the beta is a well thought out outline to a draft, if that makes sense.

I must disagree with you. In fact, it's not a good news. It shows how bad the mismanagement of the GT franchise is. I'm a GT fan boy but I'm not blind. From a beta early 2016 to a quietly cancelled beta and now a new beta a year later. No informative posts about a new car/track. Almost zero communication (have a look at the PC2 forum). And a year later, they haven't shown a new track, key features like the career mode...

I don't know what to think about Poly these days.

It's really not normal to compare the way developers provide information. They're can be certain rules and stipulations that can prevent one company from doing what another does. It can't all be ideal. And just because there can be full disclosure, no secrets, it doesn't mean the results will turn out exactly as expected.

People were excited about a public beta.
It got canned.

PD revise the situation, due to who knows what circumstances, and revive the beta.
People complain.

Go figure.

Because its not public because its to late because the game is to late because we still dont know a whole lot details about the game because we get NO information because there is no release date do you want more?

Dont get me wrong i want this game and buy it day 1 but the whole road to release with this game is just a hugh big pile of mistakes. And i have the idea that they dont care because it still sell........

If the release is this year then they should have enough by now to show us the fans some new cars and tracks or features just to thank us for keep beliefing and hyped. But why should they? Fans buy it anyway.....

If it wasn't close to completion, they wouldn't have (re)announced the beta; if I had to take a guess, I would say they are going to use it to test the online playability/stability and thus iron out any issues that come up. It also begs the question of why people are so desperate to try this that they're making new PSN accounts to get in the US test when it's been confirmed there's going to be separate beta's for other regions...

Anyway, minus a few additional tweaks they wouldn't put out a beta only to add goodness knows what on top of it... not if GTS is going to be released this year.

This.

People were eager for a beta, then we're deeply frustrated it got cancelled (understandably)

Then, fast forward 12 months, and PD announce the beta is coming after all, and people are now suddenly annoyed and complain about said beta

It's a closed beta yes, but PD have even stated that it's coming in stages, first to the US, then EU, and then perhaps another stage to it. Regardless of it being "closed", you'd have thought people would be pleased to have a beta nonetheless, so that the game can be played and feedback given, but hey-ho I guess...

It's much easier for people to see and complain about the negative in things than to discuss the positive in things.

If the beta will have no outcome for the game, then what is its purpose?
Here's a good definition of the beta phase of software development:

The beta phase begins when a product propels from “functional but hideous” to “polished and ready to go.” Bugs are hunted down and fixed, features are improved or revamped for maximum usability, the interface and graphics receive an overhaul, and performance issues are optimized. Even though beta testing occurs as the third step in development, it can often be the longest phase because there are so many aspects to test.

The beta phase is typically initiated when a developer opens up a product to those who haven’t been involved in development. A closed beta is a limited release where only those who have been given access can test the software while an open beta or public beta is a free (as in liberty) release that allows anyone to download and try it out.

What to expect from beta software: You should expect a beta product to be “feature complete,” meaning that everything that’s intended to be in the final product has been implemented. You may experience major and minor bugs that break certain portions of the product, but rarely will you find critical bugs that require immediate attention. Beta software can go through a lot of changes, so expect frequent patches and updates.
