I just brought up this in another thread, but irl, the yellow tint on the headlights are for endurance races (like the N24) while clear lights are sprint style. I wonder if you'll be able to switch back and forth in the final game?

I really hope we get a look at the livery editor come E3, because I have ideas for fantasy GT300 cars coming out of my earholes.

It may just be me, but has anyone noticed their car just randomly cut off on throttle during an online race? It has happened to me earlier and was bugging the crap outta me.

Happened to me while at the Nurburgring with my Evo, i thought it was my controller at first being 3 years old and worm out.
 
So with this new update that's come out, this has raised a question for me.

Remember back in 2014 when that GoPro Rampage Camaro won the GT award? I wonder if that car would be coming to GT Sport since they said "a future GT game". There was also a 1967 Nova that won back in 2012 that has yet to make an appearance.

Just a thought.

Yes there are 53M PS4s in the wild, but with new titles, especially exclusives, there are many more to be sold. And GT is a very well-known exclusive title. I think it'll move quite a bit of consoles despite coming 4 years after the launch of PS4. It's the next GT title that I'd worry about, as it might be releasing towards the end of the cycle.

I think there's plenty to worry about with game following GT6, departing significantly from the established model into territory that is known to be niche, and offering a game that so far appears to have little unique outside of the name an a fancy photomode.

How the game progresses is what I want to understand. It's still not very clear. How do you, @Imari think a GT online-only platform will be structured? Do you think they'd only allow races for certain periods of the day, the way they do with the beta?

Why would I know? I'm simply cautioning against making the assumption that Polyphony (or any developer that isn't Naughty Dog or Rockstar) will avoid terrible design decisions because they're good at their job. History suggests otherwise.

For me, the online racing looks engaging, tense and very fun.

Good for you. I look at it and see something that doesn't look like any of those things. Watch some iRacing footage and try not to let the fact that it's not particularly pretty influence you.

Hi guys! I've just downloaded the beta but it seems like the Sport mode is only available. Do yoy guys have the Arcade mode available already? I'm from Asia though.

Arcade mode was initially available but removed with v1.04 over a month ago. Presumably because PD wants the Beta to test server performance.

But most people who will play this won't know of or care less about iracing. You're welcome to make the comparison yourself, but it isn't something most will notice. Same with the AC comparison, to a lesser degree.

Also, even though it is hella late in the generation, I think you may be underestimating the ability of GT to shift consoles, especially if they do a lower price bundle with the PS4 Pro. But we've probably gone over this a thousand times already.

Side point, being able to change headlight colour in the livery editor would be boss.

GTS will shift "some" comsoles, if you think GTS is going to sell a significant number of consoles nearly 4 years into its life cycle then I think you are being extremely hopeful. Especially on the back of their last 2 titles, I don't see much excitement for GTS outside of this site or with long time gamers I know.

I'm less hopeful, more interested, I'd say :)
Will be very interesting what they choose to highlight at E3.
 
I think GT may move PS4 PRO consoles if it comes with a bundle. It may even move VR headsets. No one knows yet. It's a possibility it may or may not. I think there will always be people who will buy a system just to play Gran Turismo. Maybe not in the same amount as before on ps1 and ps2, but I believe they still exist.
 
Not sure how hitting 1000 pages of "discussion" for a game with no known release date, vague info drops, a questionable focus and baffling design changes being made even in a closed beta, can be a good thing.

GT5 and 6 were never this bad before in the run up to their releases.

haha welcome to the marketing train. We know how to communicate enough ;)
We (try to) give constructive feedback and now and then even complain but at the end we just want GT Sports to be the best real race simulator on PS4 console 👍
