Gran Turismo Sport v1.23 Now Available: New Circuit de Sainte-Croix, Mercedes F1 Car and More

They removed Daily Races and now we’re stuck with possible **** races for one whole week.

They added possibly the worst track in the history of Gran Turismo. What was that again with safety measures and FIA regulations? A crash on the bridge would mean certain death when you go over the barriers. Watching paint dry is more exciting than racing here.

They STILL haven’t created Group C, so all the old Le Mans cars are still basically useless.

They haven’t even changed the name to Weekly Races because those guys at PD must be diddling their thumbs. And no notification in the game of the change.

The Mercedes can’t have custom liveries, but that’s no fault of PD. If Mercedes says no then that’s that.

All together, this update blows. This game continues to get more boring, and these changes are for the worse.

In before someone tells me that nobody forces me to play the game and I should stop bitching. Gran Turismo has been my favourite gaming series since 1999 and this game is just such a big let down. Where else should I go to vent than a forum dedicated to it?

Maybe not repeating it all the time

That's kind of how this society thing works.
Only those who are unhappy, I'm sorry, but I feel sorry for others to see how people get their frustrations in a video game, it's disgusting

Love the new circuit. First took the Beat out stock on A and had a really enjoyable race, laughed at the AI Alfa Romeo MiTo on 3 wheels round corners, 5 minute laps in those things, but I thought going at a slower pace would let me "walk" the circuit and get to know the layout and flow. Finished 2nd in the Expert arcade race (I might have won but stacked it in a fair few places having a go, so much fun!)

Then took the stock S660 out on the same A route same arcade race and won. The S660 has slightly more acceleration along the straights, bit more planted and stable in corners but no match for the handling of the Beat which is so nimble it can go flat out round most of the turns on this course and is really satisfying nipping through Beat sized gaps between cars and barriers/rumble strips.

Then I took the RCZ out in the daily race along layout C, and there is a real sprawling sense of the open air setting, lake and hills in the distance, a sort of fishing village after the long back section downhill....it feels more like you are driving on a road through a real rural area than an enclosed circuit setting, and the length helps with that. My position? Oh..Lets just say it improved every time someone rage quit ;)

I haven't even tried B or the II layouts yet, but I think PD have outdone themselves, and been very clever giving us 6 layouts totalling over 30 miles of just about every type of corner you could throw at us to learn. There probably won't be another update until after Season 3 if the current pattern is any indication so they are keeping us busy with this and a new 20mil car to save up for.

All I want are the kei cars. You can keep the rest :sly:

What is everyone doing about hard drive space? I keep having to delete installed games to make room for GT updates and it's getting on my nerves
Just put a bigger hard drive in? I put a 2TB in mine! :D

I feel the track suits slower than Gr. 3 cars. Ran N100, One Make S660 and GR4 Custom Races at St Croix layouts. Perfectly made for those cars.
Tried the Gr. 3 Daily Race and it's almost too fast for me at that location.

Maybe I'm just getting old.

Holly **** the new tire phyiscs are a game changer. Before the update you coulnd't full throttle the La Ferrari or the 458 in second gear without wheelspining. Now you feel when its gonna spin and you can full throttle it even in the first gear. Even the counter steering is much better and more precies. And the new track looks really good outside the pop ins from close range wich is a bit annoying. Anyway great stuff, gg to PD really solid update.

That new Provence-set track struck me as very ”old Spa-ish” in a course creator kind of way. A tad flatter and plus one bridge, obviously.
Still. Gave the old imagination quite a stir. Like it!

Frustrating to see GTSport being thrown around on social media, the news of microtransactions coming to the game didn't help at all.

Since Star Wars Battlefront which made big enough news to have lawmakers around the world discussing it anything that includes or introduces them will make news. Just the way news works.

My favorite part of the game is circuit experiences, and Sarthe is my favorite track, so that alone makes it a great update.

The new track is a lot to take in. My favorite configuration is B if only for the scenery.

The problem with Star Wars was the lootboxes that brought all the "oh they put gambling in Star Wars" talk, people don't like microtransactions but Lootboxes is the big baddie nowadays(and for a good reason).

Ran a few laps at version A using my beloved NSX Gr.4. While the scenery looks gorgeous (as always), especially the bridge section, the track itself felt pretty "meh". Will give another drive when I get home and hopefully have a better impression.

I was quietly hoping they added female avatars along with the new customization options...

The non-customizable livery Mercedes is a bummer. Was looking forward to race in a Love Live/Im@s/Miku Hatsune themed F1 car

I love the fact that lewis Hamilton’s car is a bitch to drive. It’s not like anyone here has ever driven one. So we have no real reference to see how realistic it is. My thinking is that if F1 cars were easy to drive we would all be doing it. So I suspect it’s probably not far off the mark when it comes to comparisons between real and simulated. It would be good if PD do another vid interview with Hamilton to give us his thoughts on the car which may give a little insight into car in game against the real version

F1 is now on their summer break. If they were to do one, now would be the time to do it.

Those that know the game and how it works are less likely to complain, except for principle. The same principle that applies each and every time this is added to any game.. which means pretty much every single game in past many years, including the GT series. The vast majority are likely to be fanboys of another console + game, sony haters (they have plenty and many deserved) and people that played GT on the PS1+PS2 and maybe even PS3 and want that game again. Personally i am gonna vote with my wallet and buy some cars and support the game that have played for endless hours..

Most haters have a reason for being hating, i pity them and wish that their empty lives will improve.
