I don't think they did? At least not in GT1I now think counting 5/6 rounds has become a little more justified - they’ve really kicked up the potential credit prizes this time!
The longer qualis seems to be for those races that are short sprintsYay for allowing people with jobs to take part but what's with the amount of time given for qualifying about?
Interlagos - 18 mins
Catalunya - 6 mins
Spa - 4 mins
Sardegna - 18 mins
Suzuka - 7 mins
Don't you insult Wile E. Coyote like that!PD tunes the BOP:

I think this is a polarising thing, because that is essentially what Gr4 is for.GR3 shouldn't feel like you're living on the edge of your pants. This new BOP feels more user friendly and driving on the edge is a less risky affair, because of the reduction in power. I'm about 2 seconds slower around Nurb Endurance, compared to the last race in EX2. But I'm faster in the turns by at least 3 mph. I'm not sure why?
You make some good and valid points. I personally missed racing GR4 in GT1 league, so for me, this is kind of a happy medium. There is something to be said about the lack of control from other players though, who kept missing braking points and taking me out due to the combination of custom slipstream and very fast cars.I think this is a polarising thing, because that is essentially what Gr4 is for.
I think the dumbing down as a tad to much and I also think it’s coupled with some tire physics tuning and diff tuning as well.
It’s nice to have more stable cars and arguably more like we’d actually be able to drive them in real life but there was something to be said for the slightly more raw feeling pre update.
Also the corner speeds are higher as the cars are gripping better and weigh more so hold their line better. Im just basically chucking the car in now to see how fast it can take things
I would agree here but I think they went about it the wrong way. They made the cars easier to drive by reducing their power output, however where I think the reason the cars used to feel like driving on the seat of your pants was because the tires lack friction. IMO, the tires - specifically the RH - needed to have a higher coefficient of friction. Now we get the grip, and the speed/power!Today is the first time I've driven the GR3 cars since Update 1.57 and yes, everything is a lot slower. But I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. GR3 shouldn't feel like you're living on the edge of your pants. This new BOP feels more user friendly and driving on the edge is a less risky affair, because of the reduction in power.
Maybe there has been a change in the tyre model, because the partnership with Michelin has come to an end? Are we now racing on 'Gran Turismo' compounds? Either way, I'm probably more open to this new BOP than most. The proof is in the racing and if we get a better experience due to the change, then it will be deemed a success. Do you think the skill gap has been increased or decreased due to the new BOP?I would agree here but I think they went about it the wrong way. It’s decreased massively, the same as just throwing us all in GR4 the cars are easier so much more repeatable. I’d imagine this is favouring the weaker drivers more than the peeps that could find this exit/throttle management.Do you think the skill gap has been increased or decreased due to the new BOP?
Usually there'd be a bullet point in the update details if there were any physics changes. There weren't any in this update. I'm guessing it is just a cosmetic change.Maybe there has been a change in the tyre model, because the partnership with Michelin has come to an end?
Hey! I resemble that remark! I suppose we'll see how this plays out in the races, but I'm feeling right now like slowing down the Gr.3 BoP is one of the few recent changes that might actually help me. I like to believe I do better in slower, closer racing. My best results recently have been in one-make road car races in Nations and TGR. If this BoP change brings us closer to that, I'm all for it.I’d imagine this is favouring the weaker drivers more than the peeps that could find this exit/throttle management.
I doubt that has any influence. That's just a cosmetic change.Maybe there has been a change in the tyre model, because the partnership with Michelin has come to an end? Yes, I believe it will be just because the cars are so much easier to drive. They required more precise, well, everything before which is what tends to separate the skill levels.Do you think the skill gap has been increased or decreased due to the new BOP?
Omg, you literally read my mind. I was about to write the same. I did well with the BMW last time, but the sound!!! of the AMG and the interior in VR is a good selling point. Do you think with the new BOP it is competitive enough?Think I might go a bit mad altogether and pick the AMG Mercedes, just to really torment myself 🤣🤣🤣. I actually like driving it, I always found it to be fairly well balanced and easy to drive and it sounds epic too. That long bonnet in VR might catch me out though 🙈
No idea will it be competitive, I certainly won't be whatever about the car 🤣🤣🤣 I don't see any reason why it would not be on the pace at the longer tracks like the Ring and Spa. I always found it very stable and that is what I really prefer around the Ring at least. Will do some practice with it later. I will only be in GT2 slots at the very lower end of the splits so I'm just looking for good finishes rather than winningOmg, you literally read my mind. I was about to write the same. Annnd I just saw now that it's 8, 10, 12PM EST which is new to meAre the timeslots 5, 7, 9PM EST again? Or are they maintaining the 6, 8, 10PM EST? The latter is better for me and the website said one thing but the game had the other during the latest exhibition.

I also did my first test at Interlagos, half the laps and double the fuel and tyres as the official race settings, BB0, TC0, medium tyres. It looks like the Jag has some competition. I've been doing some more testing of my short list of Manufacturers -- Chevy, Ford, and Jaguar -- and I had a surprise winner at Nurburgring (two laps, by lowest total time):

After the BoP changes, one thing that I noticed about the Corvette is, because it has to be short-shifted, it tends to be in the gear that I'd usually expect for a Gr.3 car. I tend to downshift into a lot of corners to get better rotation. With the Corvette, being in a higher gear, I get through the corners at a higher speed while still getting the rotation from the downshift. Often in the other cars, I'm in a lower gear going into the corner already, and downshifting slows me down more than I need.
For anybody interested, here are the tread levels after two laps (alphabetically by model):

I've also done some 5-lap tests at Interlagos (by lowest total time):
Manufacturer Model Opt time Best time Avg time Total time Jaguar F-type Gr.3 1:34.118 1:34.205 1:34.796 7:53.982 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Gr.3 1:34.602 1:34.814 1:35.157 7:55.784 Ford Mustang Gr.3 1:34.747 1:34.812 1:35.253 7:56.266 Ford Ford GT Race Car '18 1:34.644 1:34.708 1:35.377 7:56.887 Ford Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II 1:34.897 1:35.151 1:35.688 7:58.440 Ford Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car 1:35.380 1:35.867 1:36.528 8:02.642
I thought one of the MR Fords might do well here, but the Jag came out on top again. I'm not going to share the tread levels since there was very little wear for any of the cars.
With it potentially being my last GTWS, (although going back on the narrowing the Weds slots is a step in the right direction) I decided to go with my favourite manu. No surprises given my avatar that it is Jag.

Good luck out on the track everyone.
Also nice seeing a place you have been to in real life as a spot in the game. (Though cars wouldn't be allowed here.)
