Gran Turismo World Tour is happening

The thing is ACC wont be released on console and that userbase is much larger. I dont like gaming on PC anymore for the simpel fact you are never done upgrading and for not being plug and play.

Your affirmation is not correct... It will be released this summer only for PC, but later on, most probably it will come to XBOX and PS4 (or 5??) most surely... Not being plug and play on PC????? That is even more incorrect... PC accepts any kind of controller combination as it is full plug & play, , contrarily to PS4... And I have several bad experiences with that issue... (on PS4)

About one of favourite complains on GTS - the smooth track surfaces. The new camera angle and new tire model clearly show the tracks are anything BUT smooth. Why doesnt this transfer to ffb?
From what has been said here, the FBB works very well on the official TGT steering wheel (also used in the event), the other steering wheels supported by GTS are implemented + or - well but never like on the TGT.

I think it is for some kind of agreement that they are mainly privileging the official steering wheel.

I wonder what it feels like in comparison with T300RS GT... I am not throwing 600€ for it :D

Your Lordship I will let you know as a T-GT is arriving this week and I will test against my long running T300RS.

I've had tgt for few weeks now and i must say ffb is much better, but mostly i think due to the extra vibration motor that shows why they have the understeer rattle. With tgt the limit of grip is easy to notice. Also seems tgt is better at catching slides.. Or then i just got better at it over night.

That said - i dont think i feel any more of the surface dents with tgt..

Edit: i had g29, so dont take my word compared to other thrustmasters..

ACC being released on consoles later on is just speculation at the moment, with no official word from Kunos explicitly saying so. And by plug-and-play what he means is that while PC accepts any combination of controllers, arguably even more so than consoles, you have to adjust endless dials and sliders to get the steering sets act the way you want to (just the right ffb strength and no clipping).

You can sort of feel this hassle for yourself with the horrible stock ffb settings on Project CARS 1. If you get then all correct, the ffb is amazing, but you really have to fiddle with the settings just to get that perfect feel. What's worse is that in that game you have to adjust the settings for almost every car since they all feel different.

On PC I can only assume that it's worse

I remember well pc1 setting up...after that complicated lineup of settings.. luckly it was shared and easy to find... on pc I guess it was rhe same...

Contrarly to what you say.. aditional settings for pc racing games is a positive thing! And AC is an example of that... same for Dirt.. for example... in pc versions you may fine tune and modify the ffb feel and behaviour... and aditionaly you get hundreds of car and track mods... and a good example of that is also AC...

Different strokes for different people. I personally like being able to have ffb settings that fit me perfectly (more on the strong side but still smooth, although I don't want it to be as time-consuming as PC1), but not everyone may share my opinion and I can see that it's the case for PocketZeven :)
I personally also like having a PC, for the very reason that you never stop upgrading it. Unlike consoles that will be irrelevant in 5 years, a PC can be continually upgraded every 2 years or so with a new GPU or CPU. I have a friend that has a mid-spec PC that's been running for 7 years now because he keeps upgrading it :)

I knew I would like to read your final comment on this!!

I think that this has been by far the best e-sports competition I've watched: there were commentators from all the nations, including Italian (finally!!!!!!!), fantastic broadcasting and racing. Congratulations to Giorgio, an alien, and Matteo who kept the Tricolore high. And to all the other partecipants who are absolutely from another planet, because keeping the focus througout a tough race like that is by no means easy. I hope that the top 24 shootout of the FIA official season will be broadcasted, hopefully with the throttle/braking/steering graphics so that a noob like me can learn some tips hahaha

Agree.
The only thing I missed was the hud and lap time graph (there was time between drivers but not lap times....

...maybe Pd did it not to humiliate us more!!

Judging from the quali times for the GR4 race at Nürburgring GP track that I saw I would say the new tyre model and I guess the BOP they implemented had a big impact, so I’m not sure the times are comparable to what they/we are used to.

@mclarenLB Out of interest which was the biggest impact the tyre model or BOP?

Just finished watching the Nation Cup and what an anticlimactic mess the end was. Delaying the results for some awkward player interviews, commercials, footage of old GT's, waiting for a translator to speak and it goes on.
Also saw the leader cut corners more than once yet no penalty. And the commentators seemed to believe it was the usual 5 second penalty at the end for the Fin but then after a really long delay it was determined to only be a 3 second penalty for some reason that wasn't explained, conveniently altering the championship result. Entertaining races but these backroom shenanigans really turn me off.

Race control messed the last race up hard, I spoke to Jimmy and Chris when the ads were running after the race and the backstage communication on deciding that penalty was an absolute mess, mthomas went to race control as they let Fuvaros get away with ignoring his pitstop penalty until he had time to pit, and they kind of shrugged it off.

The BoP and Tyre model was vastly different, and honestly very lacking in balance, Tidgney's Lambo was a total mess in the final, both tyre wise and pace wise.

More details soon.

Anyway, if the selection process was clearer, I can guarantee we would be seeing a lot of different drivers.

I believe this will go a long way to broadening the appeal to viewers that aren't already GT fans. It was the first event, so obviously there will be a learning curve, but the lack of transparency and short lead-time makes it hard for more casual viewers to get invested IMO. They don't know who these people are, nor the why/how of them being there.

Announcing in-game what the selection process is, alongside a simultaneous post on GT.com (or even better, the PS blog) would work wonders. 👍

I think they need to make it a lot clearer who is racing at any one time in the Manufacturers cup. Could do with adding the names of each driver under their manufacturer on the leaderboard as well as adding names to the face cams because as it was it made it difficult to follow specific drivers. Would even be good if they had the PSN IDs with their names somewhere.

Hey guys, I've been hoping the same thing as I live here in Austin as well.

I've been wondering how many hardcore GTS players were in my area, now I know there are at least a few! It would be cool to race each other online some day and maybe even race some Karts at COTA or K1.

Add me on PSN if you'd like, same name as my username here.

K1 or COTA will be awesome! I'm game. I'll send friend requests when I can log in. I have been wanting to do a multiple driver endurance race for quite a while. Last one I did was a few months ago on Forza which ended in tragedy when the FFB went away 20 minutes into the race and the rig owner didn't believe me or the other codriver until he took on his second stint and fixed it as we were already FAR behind and out of contention at that point.

Its not really to do with the FFB, its more the fact that the required driving style was totally different. You did feel more in touch with the car though, and it wasn't just the TGT's features doing that.
Exactly, this has nothing to do with the FFB or a different wheel. I know at least one player who has the T-GT at home and he felt the same differences then any other player there.

From all the races if someone crashed into someone else pushing them off then it was a 1 sec Pitstop penalty. This was supposed to happen (and did as far as I could see up to the last race) without simultaneously fueling or tyres - just like F1. It seems to me that in the last race not only did Magano combine both in 1 pitstop but then when Laval in the Toyota pushed the other guy off the track he only got a three second post race penalty and not a 1 second in the pit which would have, in effect, been a lot longer than 5 seconds let alone 3. Either of these being done consistantly would have meant Blazan winning overall.
