Gran Turismo World Tour is happening

Its basically the full season continuation of it, almost all done preparing it now too :D

Back on Topic, we left the Nurburgring for the last time about 90 minutes ago, Kaz thanked everyone for coming, we had a group photo and said goodbyes. Best week of my life.

On with the FIA season then lads :)
Looking forward to it.

Not necessary at all, they spent thousands on each player, the treatment was way above what anyone was expecting... They know how to look after their players let's put it that way

I don't think I said it was necessary.
I just think there's a big drop between a top-end Tag Heuer watch and trophy for 1st and just a trophy for 2nd place, regardless of how each driver is being treated.
Sure, you were being treated well, but I think more prizes would've made more sense.

Adstomko is a very fair driver and a good guy. He also makes an effort to talk in german to me as a british guy!

Good grief. Somebody actually knows the real me!

EDIT: Gleichfalls Raceface.

I hope they're planning a world FIA event with the 10 best drivers from each region...

On a side note and if you were involved in the event, please don't take this the wrong way but some of your, let's call them 'concentration faces', had me close to tears. Everything from grim determination, to looking bored, to a hyperactive tongue and all the way to what looked like a near heart attack at every corner. Priceless unintentional comedy and for what it's worth, my missus laughs (a lot...) at the expressions I make when I'm concentrating. It was just funny to see other people doing it for a change.

No offence meant.

I mean that Tag watch was worth more than any piece of Thrustmaster equipment lol

Not that I could really see it up close in the stream but I bet that tag is worth a fair amount!

I thought you guys might of got some goodies as well though, but sounds like you got treated well and I’m sure it was a great experience which is more important.

Hoping some of the original GT breed participate soon to make the races even closer.
Was convinced a new circuit would be revealed this weekend. Hopefully Spa is on its way

I'm assuming they all got to keep those sweet Puma racing boots and the jacket, flight & accommo to the Nurb 24hr race paid for is pretty sweet in itself :) Sounds like an amazing weekend, and I thought the coverage put other eSports who've been in the game far longer to shame

I reckon the update prior to fia season properly kicking off at the end of the month will potentially be a good one.

Watching all this gives me a real appetite to try and get quicker and race more! Finally bought a tv for my man cave this weekend so hopefully will happen. Well the playing more bit at least!

After watching some of the stream yesterday, I might start wearing my gloves and boots.
My simrig is 15 years old. It's holding out well. TV is a little on the small side.
Might be going on holiday next month so if I decide to participate in the FIA races, I hope it doesn't overlap.

I’ve only recently changed to a wheel, wish I did it years ago. Events like this really show case what is possible, I’m willing to bet a lot of people are more motivated after watching this!

Probably never catch the likes of these drivers or the other fast guys in the game, but I’m gonna give it a good try!

What's quite interesting about the N24 event is that for the majority of us going it'll be our first live tournament, and not many former GT Academy guys have made it. For the first time us racers have an entry criteria that suits us. The fact you don't even see the FIA leaderboard times after you've entered a race is a sign PD have completely focused on racing and not hotlapping.

Apart from the fact there were a number of GT Academy finalists there, you seriously think that more didn't make it because they are only good at hotlapping? It's incredibly arrogant of you to describe yourself as a "racer" implying that former GT Academy guys aren't. The reality the people who have qualified for GT Academy events in the past are equally fast racers as hoplappers and the reason there aren't many of them around is that a lot don't even play the game any more and quite a lot of those that do don't play it that much.

At the end of the day the top drivers in the game are always top no matter whether they're doing a time trial or a race, and it really does make me angry that you try and put yourself above people who have been top players in the game in the past because you qualified through a system based more on racing than time trials. You're not better than them, you just happen to play the game now.

(I won't get into how using DR alone probably isn't the best way of finding the top 30 drivers considering that there are probably 100s of drivers capable of getting to the maximum level given time, but it does a pretty good job, just as a time trial would)

Completely agree.
@mthomas_95 you're in for a big shock if the previous GT talent-wave come back for for the FIA races. I'm not sure which GT Academy players you're suggesting aren't good enough to be selected. Do you have any proof that they're not good enough?
If you look at some of the stats, they just haven't ranked up their DR yet.

You can still be a fantastic hotlapper and be a good racer. It's a stereotype suggesting all hotlappers aren't the best racers for this game.

Without any disrespect to the drivers at the Nürburgring, you really believe that they are the top 30? Far from it.

And from one extreme to the next. Most of the drivers at the FIA event are top 30 drivers and are consistently topping the leaderboards and winning races. Ok not all of them would probably make it if some more top drivers came out of the woodwork but to say that they're "far from it" is about as silly a statement as saying that GT Academy finalists aren't good racers.

Fair point.
I know there is world-class talent there. I was trying to stress the fact that there are about 15 non-selected drivers in the top of my head who are unbelievably quick in case some of the selected drivers start getting ahead of themselves.
Wrong choice of words perhaps.

I think you re not seeing the whole picture... the thing that makes the balance pend to GTS side is above all that in this game its remarkabke easy to embrace online racing with a ranking syatem and all, and regarding PC2 we must add a lot of bugs creeping in on 1st launch and on 1st updates... those are the only true reasobs why players that are looking for a racing simulation.. and not Gta like on line... are still playing GTS... and dailly, that number keeps... decreasing... for those who play the game for more then 2 to 3 months...

More... this summer will be launched AC Competizione... and once that happens... the vast majority of those (wanting a good online racing simulation) will migrate to that new truly racing simulation with probably even better online racing capabilities then actual GTS!

So ... if by that time Gts does not makes any moves to change... it will be used only for kids... mostly...

Rumors of Gt7 are real? Don t know... but... I know that strong changes are needed or then Gts will loose what it was amming for... and a vast number of actual players until the end of this summer...

Haha. Nah, I see the big picture just fine. I just think you are wrong. I was going to type out this long reply pointing out why, but then realized this is rather pointless. It's all good. I'll see you out on the track! ;)

The priz cost over 5K that cover enough PS4 and some wheel also the game.

There’s always that one guy who denies any relevance of hotlappers.

Yeah it’s just a “lucky lap” lol. I just got “lucky” and did a 1:57 on Suzuka, but I cannot consistently lap in the 1:58’s...

Anyway, if the selection process was clearer, I can guarantee we would be seeing a lot of different drivers.

Same here, but sadly, it finishes shortly after first few laps - specially now when I'm already 8th day without PS+ and can't see how to end this dark streak.

What I'm loving more and more is watching this game streams and this one was fantastic!

As I told in all my predictions, Giorgio vs Fuvaros - and it happened!

Hail to them and congratulations to all participants as well to the organization & coverage!

If you listen to the guy from TAG Heuer you will hear that the prize was a TAG Heuer Connected watch. They are about £1000

Probably right if sold on. Around £1800-£1850 mark at retail.
