Mini Marcos GT (arctic white): 81hp w/ oil change (1950cr left)
Mazda 110S (swan white): 134hp w/ oil change & wing (750cr left)
427 S/C (pure white): 510hp w/ oil change (1950cr left)

I elect to stick with normal tranies for all three of the above cars. :)

Gonna forgo the transmission upgrades on my cars, also. Never really been a fan of the close and s/c transmissions, personally. Gonna stick with the stockers.

BTW, my Bluebird 1600 is used, and to my knowledge, there is no getting it brand new or even 6.2mi. Can I just go with an oil change and call it good?

Okay, I have a couple questions and comments here. First of all, which horsepower figure do we use? There are four of them, depending on where you look.

Second of all, is the horsepower bracket limit a hard cap which can never be broken by upgrades? For example, if an entrant selects a 96 HP car for Class B, can they add a part (turbo, exhaust, etc) that takes the car over 99 HP? (and again, where is the HP measured?)

Next, what other cars are you boosting up a class? You mentioned the Ginetta and the Stratos and hinted there are others, what are they?

I realize that any car that comes equipped with R3 (most race cars) or R1 (rally cars and race cars that don't come with R3's) aren't allowed. But what about cars that come equipped with S3's? Would we get a free set of S2's, or can we use the S3's? Incidentally no cars come with economy tires, so the rule requiring one to keep them until they can afford sports tires is superfluous.

Are there any limits on what tires may be purchased if funds are available?

A suggestion: allow any used car (when purchased) with more than 6.2 miles on it to have a free oil change. Another suggestion: allow these same cars (>6.2 miles "new") a free chassis refresh.

Speaking of chassis refresh, in case you didn't knows this, whether or not a car needs one is strictly a function of miles on the car. The exact amount varies from car to car, with race cars being usually closer to 200 miles and production cars being 400+ miles. It has nothing whatsoever to do with contact with other cars, hitting barriers, or anything else; just mileage. It can be (for some particular car) 387 miles on the test track by itself, or 387 miles in demo derby style races; it's still 387 miles.

Sure you can oil it, it comes out of your 2,000 CR.

All horse power figures used are from the Garage and Tuning Screen.

A car stays in its class no matter what. If you can afford it, you can modifiy it anyway you want with in the limits of the league.

Next, what other cars are you boosting up a class? You mentioned the Ginetta and the Stratos and hinted there are others, what are they?

I didn't make a seperate list of them. I do have a list of every car that is useable in this league and its class and so does Car-less. Its much easier to rule on things in a case by case basis then to give up our hard work.

I realize that any car that comes equipped with R3 (most race cars) or R1 (rally cars and race cars that don't come with R3's) aren't allowed. But what about cars that come equipped with S3's? What ever a car comes with you start with. There are so few that aren't tunner cars that come with S3s its not worth mentioning, but some of the older cars come with Standard Tires though I may of pruned the ones that did. So I may of wasted words in the rules, there wasn't a charge for it. No, you don't get any free tires.

Are there any limits on what tires may be purchased if funds are available?

No limit once you have the money.

A suggestion: allow any used car (when purchased) with more than 6.2 miles on it to have a free oil change. Another suggestion: allow these same cars (>6.2 miles "new") a free chassis refresh.

Then that would change the nature of the market. If 50 CR is going to upset your racing budget that much, well you don't need to be racing. As for the refresher plan that would change the nature of used vs new. A used car should be more fragile, but it allows people on GT4 budgets in as well. I will have to think on this, but I'm not to interested in lots of free options.

Good to know, we will be putting lots of miles on these cars.

Are there any more drivers wishing to enter or add a new class? I'm thinking of starting this in the next couple of days. I'm going to be gone tommorrow, so either that evening or on thursday.

Asia Grand Prix

Welcome to the Grand Prix - Classic Racing League Invitational. I'm glad all of you made it here to Japan with your cars. With this first season getting underway, here is what we have in store for you for the next week or so. Your cars will be inspected and assigned their racing classes to be admitted into the league. We will then get ready for the first racing heats at the Beginner Course. Here you should learn plenty about the strengths and weaknesses of your cars and about your competitors. This will be a long season with progressing rewards and sponsors as we get deeper into the season.

The league will provide work areas in the pits at each track and access to water for washing your vehicles. You have all come up with the entry fees and proven that you can travel to each event and have made your hotel reservations in advance. Your entry fees also cover Sports Medium (S2) tire supply and replacement, (or what ever type your car starts with in GT4). Vehicle transport to each event will be covered by the league either by rail, transporter or by ship. We also have a list of parts suppliers in each area if you need them. The league has plenty of pre-made 1kg/5kg/10kg/50kg/100kg ballast weights for the entire season. So feel free to use them, especially those of you with front wheel drives.

Add me in as a late entry;

Class A: Fiat 500R '72
Class B: Honda Civic 1500 3 Door CX '79
Class C: Nissan 240 ZG '71
Class D: Shelby Mustang GT 350 '65
Class E: AC 427 S/C '66

All of the above are as new (6.2mile Fiat), and none have had an oil change.

Here are are the gearing choices:

Subaru 360 '58 (Fresh blue)

Triumph Spitfire 1500 '74 (White) - Close gearing

Toyota 2000GT 1967 (Thunder Silver) - Close gearing

Jensen Interceptor MkIII (Silver Grey Metallic) '74

Shelby Cobra 427 (Guardsman Blue Poly) '67

Can we install things in the cars with the 2000 Cr per car budget?

Was running my Class B entry, the Mini Marcos GT, over at Motegi West. The darndest thing happened...Spitfires and March Brothers alike were weaving side to side as if drunk coming off the second straightaway...I was laughing so hard I forgot to record the race results for my first attempt.

Was I the only one having trouble running the 427 on the Beginner Course? O_o

Was going to actually take part, but I can't. So I'm out of the series

Why can't you? This is the first racing period of two weeks, just pick your entries and decide if you want a close or super close transmission for each of your cars, (assuming they can take one.) Join in the mayhem. After the first racing period is really the cutoff.

Thanks mate. You can buy parts for a car anytime you have a positive bank balance in that class. you have to post all your purchases here in the thread so everyone knows what they are facing.

I'm sorry for it, but there seems to be some confusion over how many tracks you should drive right away.

Basicly if you five car entries just drive all of them on the first track, Beginners Course. We have a two week window to do all three tracks. Once all the times are in, I post the results, you can buy parts if you want, then race the next track and 'PM' the results. We keep this cycle up until we finish the three track block or the two week period runs out and I DNF anyone not finished.

I just spend 1,100 of the 2000 Cr I had for the Jensen in a weight reduction kit and now it weights just 1596 kg. And 1,500 Cr of the Shelby 2,000 Cr in a racing ship for 507 BHP.

I got the weight reduction, but the Racing Chip or any computerized controllers are invalid. We are racing with pre-1980 technology. So turn that chip off or get another car without it. If you raced a track with it in there, resubmit a time without it.

Now you tell me it. After I send you the times. Doing the lap again now.

...

3) All purchases must be posted publicly in this thread including parts and oil changes made later. Washing your car may be done freely. All parts are available once you can afford them except computerized controllers and racing chips. Nitrous purchase and use in the Grand-Prix-Classic is banned.

I would like to run the Buick Special '62 and take on the cobras. I will post my upgrades, FYI I will not be using the free tranny upgrades.

edit: stock it has 586hp.

No oil change

Total BR is $2,000
