Yeh it was pretty boring, but it was good to see those mclarens charging through the field on the heavier fuel load. Much like michael at Imola. Who heard Martin Brundles comment on the fact that fuel in F1 engines is feed in at 70Bar? did he say 7 or 70 cos 70 bar is like nearlly 1000 PSI.

edit: yay i just hit 200 posts

Do you see the way Alonso pointed to the Michelin logo on his cap when he was on the podium.........as to say "Look, I can win using Michelin tires, their great!"

I wonder whether he was told to do that....... ;)

Oh, and did you see the got the drivers country flags the wrong way around
Kimi's not german! and Michael isnt from Finland........they quickly got rid of it thou!

Amazing how Kimi clawed his way back to finish 2nd

He said 70 ... that's why he was so suprised by it ...

I thought that pressurised fueling was not allowed on grounds of saftey.

I thought they had to use gravity.

I see a lot of you saying that Kimi could have easily beat Alonso for the victory. Now, you guys know I'm a Alonso fan, but I don't think Kimi could have done it.

Alonso did a blistering pace at the beginning of the race to gain a gap on the rest of the field. After that, he and the team realized nobody could touch him, so they set any easy pace for the rest of the race. No doubt to save wear on the tires and conserve engine wear and fuel.

Now, if Kimi was breathing down his neck from the start, I'm sure Alonso could have kept him at bay. Alonso had some fantactic sector speeds and some overall lap speeds compared with Kimi. Don't go by Alonso's mid or last few lap speeds. Look at his strong paced laps at the beginning of the race. I think he could have beat Kimi. It would have a been a great battle to have seen.

But, we didn't get to see it. I think this battle would have made for a more entertaining race. Though I think Alonso could have beaten Kimi, it's still hard to say who would have won if Kimi had held his third position at the start.

And despite Kimi's amazing pace in the middle of the race. Alonso still set the fastest lap of the race, albeit, on lap 4!

no kimi had the fastest, then alonso then JPM. the gap was like 13 seconds at the end. kimi obviously lost more than 13 seconds fighting through 10+ cars at the start of the race.

Wow. Just, wow.

Imagine if F1 was still turbocharging. :nervous:

Kimi set the fastest lap on lap 25 with 1.16,423. Alonso's fastest was 1.16,5 I think.

Edit: And Kimi's qualifying time in a really heavy car proved that he/his car was faster than Alonso's.

For refuelling, yes. They're talking about inside the engine.

Oh god ... they were getting well over 1000BHP back when they had turbocharging, I think Williams got 1400BHP in qualifying. Nowadays it would be scary numbers :scared:

And I do believe Kimi could have won had he been 3rd on the grid, even if he was stuck behind Trulli for the first stint he would have only lost 30 seconds at the start instead of the 45-50 he lost stuck in 10th.

those fastest laps go to show that Mclaren and Renault (albeit Alonso) really are in a league of their own, i mean practically a second faster than anyone else.

This race was really dissapointing, I thought that there would be a bit more overtaking or less of a gap. Alonso really blew the rest of the pack, MS couldn't keep up :nervous: . Well I gope the next GP will be a good one to watch. :)

Yeh, Kimi overtook one of the Sauber at adelaide hairpin (i live in adelaide:)) but after that the mclarens passed all of them with the pitstops which is weird because i thought that this track was good for overtaking...

Not really, I mean the only real overtaking place is the Adelaide hairpin, I can't think of any other great overtaking spots.
