I am still having a lots of trouble with getting the audio right on this game both on speakers and headphones - It seems to be the interior engine sounds especially in this game.
I tested different set ups and a couple of headphones and all other games including Grid 2019 / Dirt5 work perfect apart from this game. The problem seems to be the engine mix as when I crank up the volume on the tv/headphones/game to max 10 I mostly hear just the exterior environment crashes and bangs and other cars behind which are overpowering but inside the cockpit the sound is very muted on acceleration and sounds muffled.
I am really enjoying the game so if anyone is on a PS5 and could test theirs works fine or confirm the cockpit sounds that would be great to see if I can change any thing else

I know it SOUNDS crazy... but what If they are simulating you having a helmet and earplugs on? What realism!!! (No seriously, I agree the mix is rather low.) :gtpflag:

AI awareness!

People I wanted to share this Xbox network video with you that shows how great (at least compared with other games) the AI can be. Scenario: Paris race in the rain at night. Notice how the Alfa Giulia and the car two positions in front go for the gap after noticing the pile up in front, while defending my advances! (And the Porsche brakes and gets stuck.)
Glares at GT7😠

Project Cars (the original) did exactly that when you used helmet cam.
I believe Drive Club also made the camera views sound different and slightly muted in the cockpit views. If it is meant to be like this I will try again but I do like to hear the engine sounds over the exterior sounds. Hopefully an option in settings would solve this or a future patch.:)

Original plan was been waiting and have to buy gt7. been reading about grid legends, even after grid 19, think i'll give it a go. Present day, play grid legends alot, and oh yea, geuss i should try and get somewhere in gt7.

I just run into some sort of odd bug with the latest patch. I had already gotten the gold trophy for completing and finishing first on all the GRID Challenges and also completed all sponsor objectives but, for some reason, on a random event the game decides to reward me that same sponsor I still had actived (the patch didn't fixed the tracking, all of them are still bugged) and reduce the tracking from 100% to 0% on all sponsor GRID Challenges.

I’ve the same problem on series x,some sponsors keep randomly paying out even when long completed, others don’t trigger at all,
Also manual gearbox with clutch will not work on series x using csl elite base and v1.5 shifter

The DF analysis was well done, thank you for the link @Nacho Libre I enjoyed watching that. It really does feel a very well optimised game and a good solid racer (Locked 60FPS) to play in all weathers and numerous cars on track and I noticed the increase in textures and environment changes on PS5 too.
I am still enjoying all the races and having fun in cars I would not normally pick. The small open wheelers are really good fun especially in FPS cockpit view they feel really nice to drive after a while with the fast steering feedback making it fun.

After downloading the latest PS5 software update yesterday I thought the sound volume/mix was much better overall in a few games. Has anyone else noticed any improvements on PS5?

Captured on PS5 the reflections and the rain look great when racing.

I tried trial again because it looks great. But I found extremely problematic thing and want ask you if I am alone. I tried Brand Hatch with some 90' Audi and I didn't need to break at all. Just turn into corner and release a bit of throttle. I've never drove anything similar and it's probably not possible to play for me. Is it possible to somehow disable it and can I brake on my own? Otherwise game looks good.

Edit // Update: I couldn't find any brake settings and just tested on a few corners on the wide race tracks and you are right you can just about get round by letting go of the throttle in the Audi and not using the brake at all as the tracks are wide enough to power through.

You still do need to brake (but not as heavily as GT7/PCars etc) on the city circuits, hairpins and most road tracks and point to points. I must play the road and city tracks much more and must have braked automatically on the race tracks! I guess it is an arcade game at the end of the day and having played them all I am used to the handling.

As much as I love the racing in this game, I've not picked it up since GT7.

Big shame since I bought the deluxe version, I'm feeling no game mode to pull me back. The lack of road map for those of us who have pre-purchased the DLC packs is not helping.

I'm hoping they come with features which make the game pull me back into it as I'm struggling right now. More of the same I don't think will cut it. The game is lacking progression, a reason to play.

Fingers crossed it will

“We are still aware of some audio issues with internal cockpit views, however, we expect those to be fixed with the next patch (Scheduled for April 21 - this date may change)”

Seriously 🙄

Well, after the update I have sampled many cars and events, and to my ears (HyperX headphones) the sound volume has increased, specially in the interior views. In my setting, the master volume is at 9, the music at 8, and everything else at 10. I use either the Sonic sound solution or Dolby Atmos.

Cool. I also have Hyper X so I will test shortly

EDIT: ok, so I took the ZB Commodore for a spin. The engine sound in cockpit does seem louder post the latest patch, however it’s as if all the sounds (in cockpit) have just been turned up as the sound of the tyres and the tyres squealing are particularly loud so maybe it is a mix issue. The engine sound (in cockpit) just seems to lack the definition/clarity of Grid 2019, and although still not to my liking, I would say that the (engine) sound post patch is acceptable. Hopefully it will be fine tuned further for the next patch.

I feel the dual sense feedback, vibration and triggers could be adjusted or used more as I often play Dirt5 and that feels better but not sure how easy that is to implement in this game. Audio is much better, although I agree with above but aware they are still working on it. Some cars are silent on jumps. Otherwise great so far. Really enjoying it as nice change and to jump in for a quick race (or two).

I don't know if this was intentional or not, as it doesn't seem to be mentioned in the previous 2 patch notes, but in career mode, the ability to earn mileage, and therefore upgrades, for the unlocked-upon-completion loaner cars in the Event-1 races is no more. I just competed the TC-G Event 1 objective, and unlocked the Astra V8, but I have no mileage points towards upgrades.

Granted, I have a feeling that this wasn't intended in the first place, but it was a nice "bug," since it allowed you to kind of hit the ground running with future events, since a lot of categories only have the first event (in which you are always put in the loaner car, even if you have other cars available), the final event, and the fully upgraded event, meaning there's not a lot of opportunities within the career itself to rack up mileage.

Also, the Renault R26 Cup and the Cobra Cup races (that is, both of the Finales and the Fully-Upgraded race in the case of the Renault) still don't let you use your own versions of the respective cars if you've unlocked them.

Does anybody combine it with GT7? When I first time tried trial I was sure this is not for me. But then I tried it second time and today third time and I think it's for me. Don't know what but I kinda like it. I completed Grid 2019 but I thought I won't buy any other Grid. Do you still like it and is it good even against Horizon 5 or Gran Turismo 7?

I haven't found much reason to play since finishing the 'story' and GT7 coming out.

Online seems like a fun pick up and play way to spend an hour or so but people in the same cars seem to run away from me on straights and I haven't changed any settings or run any assists so not sure what's going on but it's not exactly making me want to continue.
