GRID LEGENDS

I haven't found much reason to play since finishing the 'story' and GT7 coming out.

Online seems like a fun pick up and play way to spend an hour or so but people in the same cars seem to run away from me on straights and I haven't changed any settings or run any assists so not sure what's going on but it's not exactly making me want to continue.
I had it the same with Grid 2019. :D It was a good experience but rather short.

Does anybody combine it with GT7? When I first time tried trial I was sure this is not for me. But then I tried it second time and today third time and I think it's for me. Don't know what but I kinda like it. I completed Grid 2019 but I thought I won't buy any other Grid. Do you still like it and is it good even against Horizon 5 or Gran Turismo 7?
I combine it with FH5 regularly and they complement rather well, and I would argue that circuit racing and drifting in Grid Legends is better.

Finally got round to giving this a go after buying it on release. Was finishing off the last few challenges in Grid 2019 before starting the new game, but then got caught up with GT7. It really baffles me why the decided to release this so close to GT7 and as it really did the game no favours at all but hey ho.

I have to admit, I’m REALLY digging this game. Out the box the controller handling is perfect and the addition of the adaptive triggers on PS5 is night and day better than Grid 2019. The visuals look gorgeous and whilst similar to Grid 2019 there’s just a lot more depth and clarity, plus no more blinding bloom effect when racing in cockpit cam. Just been working my way through the story mode and despite not being too keen on the story mode for F1 2021, it seems to work a whole lot better for me for with this game.

For me this title feels like what Grid 2019 should have been. It’s a whole lot better on every level and just feels like a much more “complete” title this time around. I really hope it finds its audience and people will give the game a chance as for me, despite only spending a few hours with it so far, it’s a far more enjoyable title than Dirt 5 and even F1 2021 when compared to Codemasters other more recent titles. Definitely a very different game when compared to GT7 but definitely works really well for a more over the top balls to the wall bit of fun you can not take too seriously.

What about upcoming content, any info? The base is good but I would buy only complete edition and content is important. Strange is Dirt 5 is probably dead already but no info about it.

What I love about this game is the AI (no upgrades) on extreme and legends difficulty. I was flat out 6th gear 155mph on the limiter in the TC-2 Subaru on a very long straight and so were the AI next to me and no one was fast enough to overtake so we were all together in a group around the bends. One slight mistake or lift off of power and they flew past. The amount of fun this brings even on controller is like no other game I have on PS5...just one more race turned into a few hours and I never got back to GT7.

p.s I am hoping there is a photo mode drop next week in the patch update :mischievous:

I am having a problem with this game - it keeps crashing out on me. Happened three times last night. I get a screen freeze, sometimes accompanied by a loud buzzing noise, then a green screen and then everything including the console goes dead. Playing on Xbox series X. Anybody else have this problem?

It's a good fun game, negative points are that there is nothing to progress, gets samey with no stats or badges of honour. Still love picking it up and blasting on it

Funny thing is you can save custom races like in any good racing game. I like to experiment with tracks and cars. GT7 doesn't have it.

Hard to say how long it takes but content is rather big against 2019 and at least 4 tracks are on the way.

I am on PS5 and no crashes here and haven't seen anyone mention it before. If it still happens maybe worth telling them on the forum or maybe @PJTierney could ask if they know about the crashing on Xbox X. That is a lot of crashes though in one evening! I wonder what is causing it. Was it just this game doing it or had the Xbox been on for a long time? It sounds like a memory leak or very high temps but not sure that would happen on a console with all that cooling tech and being optimized not like a pc etc

Many cars are unlocked by completing events from the career mode. Go to your garage, select the division, and highlight the locked car you wish to unlock, it will inform you then what specific event you need to complete.

For example, in the GT division, the BMW M6 GT3 - Complete any Semi-Pro Touring Car Finale. Thus, you have to first unlock the semi-pro level (by completing a number of rookie events), then go to the Semi-pro Touring box, and complete the objectives of any events there that will unlock a finale, and then you will earn the car.

It can be as grindy or straightforward as you wish!

Plenty of discussion about the issue here -

The other good thing about this game is you can borrow/loan any car and earn 50% less credits so you are not forced to do the career straight away. I do think this is the best of both worlds for those that do want to earn and grind for the cars and those that want to jump in and play for an hour a time, play any car and track and spread the career over a long time (like me) every few evenings or once a weekend for some games. More games going forward should think like this and that not everyone has time to finish every game and career.

That's exactly what I like and was normal before. I don't mind kind of unlocking but I paid for all cars so I want to test them on any track. Many good things in Grid.

Who would be? I expected some DLC already. This just unlocks cars you already have? And some custom races I can do on my own. It's nice for free but hardly for any money.

It's the preorder bonus that now is available to buy.
And yes, €7.99 its expensive for four cars and six career events. This should be included in the deluxe edition.

Having said that, it's a very enjoyable game.

Good, I wasn't sure if I missed something because there is nothing valuable. As a pre-order bonus it's fine. For instance, I bought some cars for Dirt 5 because it wasn't part of the most expensive variant. No problem with it but it was something real.

I'm having difficulty with the Concordia sponsorship. Despite fulfilling the criteria for the reward (the X-Bow), it remains locked. When I went to the sponsorship tag it acknowledged the completed objectives, but when I opened the menu, it said I hadn't completed two of them (58/59 miles driven with electric vehicles and 284/285 seconds on racing line). And now I can't even reactivate the Concordia sponsorship - it's closed as if it has been finished successfully.

I played the game on Series X yesterday again after reading about performance tweaks on Series X and S in the latest patchnotes. Game runs flawless now.
60FPS in the most harsh conditions.

It is such an enjoyable game without the possibility of stutters. Not many games nail the feeling of blasting trough Tight twisty sections with a full pack of racers fighting for every position.

Last race that I tried was that Super GT500 race (career) fully upgraded in Moscow in the snow at night. That was hard. Really a race I have to try when I am fresh on another moment.

I bought it mostly because of 120 FPS. It's necessary to support that. CM are the kings, F1, Dirt 5 and Grid Legends.
