GT 7 Servers are still down...

My fam that's very into GT7, probably play about 100+ a week since launch has already told me with these nerfed payouts they don't really have the motivation to bother grinding for credits anymore. This will bitePD in the ass long term, because they may find people just stop playing their game rather than buy their currency.

Their using basic pleasure/pain principal in GT7.

Pain (grind to earn currency)

Pleasure (buy all those cool cars)

I think with the nerf.. the pain factor has gone a too far and pleasure won't come from buying currency(to buy in game cars) but from many many gamers walking away from the game entirely.

They will also kill lot's of goodwill for future releases.

I for one will never buy their game on launch again.
PD is just lucky they didn't let roulettes be paid for cause they would've been in even more trouble.

I hope they make a documentary of behind the scenes what is happening right now, can be quite a drama there. Could be terrific netflix documentary. :D
My guess they have no clue how to fix servers, and can take more days.

Haha yeah '24' style. Although may have to make a few more seasons to capture entire outage period.

Or maybe a more sombre 'panarama' type tone. Faceless members walking next to an interviewer at a desolate lake, disclosing the angst/harrowing experience suffered.

lmao like hell Kaz wanted to have people 'enjoy' the game without stooping to micro-transactions.

What I find fascinating is how when anything goes wrong with a GT product, so many people are immediately attacking PD or Kazunori Yamauchi and pretty much accusing them of being fraudsters, liars, cheats etc.
They are human beings like everyone- we all make mistakes. Jesus Christ, put things into perspective. It's a game that you'll have no access to for a few days top whack. It's not a case of life or death 🙄

So basically he didn't address anything and tried to make a cover story. Isn't that great, not only that, no update on when servers are back. **** YOU PD AND SONY!!!

The update is fantastic and all, but he...didn't actually explain anything? :odd:

Interesting choice of words ' pains me to say...' re future plans/ updates.

Maybe a lost in translation thing, but hands somewhat tied (by Sony?).

"In GT7 I would like to have users enjoy lots of cars and races even without microtransactions.
At the same time the pricing of cars is an important element that conveys their value and rarity, so I do think it’s important for it to be linked with the real world prices."

Are you kidding me?
" We will in time let you know the update plans for additional content, additional race events and additional features that will constructively resolve this. "

Sounds like they'll bring back something like seasonal events in GT5, which essentially fixed the same issue

This is fine. I have no problem with cars being a reflection of their real-world prices.
I want to make GT7 a game in which you can enjoy a variety of cars lots of different ways, and if possible would like to try to avoid a situation where a player must mechanically keep replaying certain events over and over again.
This... depends on how they approach it. Just nerfing payouts to avoid 1 race being replayed doesn't fix this. People will just resort to another 'meta'.

If the goal is enjoy a variety of cars lots of different ways, add more monetary incentive to do so.

That's great Kaz 👍 👏...but when can we actually play the game?

Had my PS5 for just about 26 hours and cant wait to play GT7 but am getting bored, i can buy F1 2021 for £12.....is it worth it?
If you are okay with spinning out as soon as you only dare to look at a kerb and circuits that are by far not up-to-date (Catalunya, Yas Marina, Albert Park), go for it.

Seems like sony didn't want him to expose them. Seems like sony is the one in charge of mtx.

What a load of 💩

It's the same people man, can usually predict the names. As soon as something is posted they're there in seconds to say the same things over and over again as if they're saying something fresh or new.

Oh... so Kaz wants to make certain cars just as unattainable in the game as they are in the real world? That's some real meta s*** right there.

On this episode of Drive to GT; Yamauchi & Herman Hulst meet off-camera but with their mics still on to talk about the downed servers. After intense discussion, Yamauchi leaves frustrated, breaking the office door on the way out.
Yeah I imagine Japanese guys get called during night time to come to work, servers are down.
Then next scene the guys shout to each other in the office in Japanese, some drama that one guy ****ed up...
Media pressure grows. Then he gets mad by pressure, considers jumping out the window. Damn, Netflix docus are way to dramatic and predictable. :D

I don't speak for everyone, but I know a lot of people here have huge respect for Polyphony, we're huge fans and respect them greatly, however, when they force their players to grind for weeks or pay $40+ for some cars, they obviously do not have the same respect for the players.

Especially after players already told them how they disliked the system, they made a update to cut the pay-outs even more?

They are humans, but so are we, respect is mutual.

To me that just reads as him wishing he could divulge information about future updates to make up for the botched update and to assuage fears over the game economy, but that it’s too early for him to be able to do so.
