Didn't ever get a confirmation mail but I guess I'm just gonna assume I'm registered...

my confirmation letter took a few hours to get.

I'm guessing they are getting flooded today with registration, being opening day, so there might be some delays.

be patient, you'll receive it soon. 👍

Registered in the North-east. I'm running all the premium nissans, just to be safe (or overzealous, whichever way you wanna look at it). Any word on whether you'll have to use cockpit view? I didn't see anything in the rules but was just wondering.
I doubt they'll use laguna seca because of the Mazda conflict, but if they do it won't be a very "realistic" driving experience. Fear REALLY comes into play with most drivers throwing themselves at the corkskrew IRL and unfortunately GT5 hasn't got the technology to invoke the fear of death in its players...maybe adrenaline shots in GT6 ;)

I hope they go to Laguna! If I made it to the finals that would be sweet, I have raced there with the AMA on my R6 the last couple years, and it's absolutely my favorite track in the world!

I'm all registered. The email went to my gmail spam folder as well. Maybe they'll release a Silverstone track through DLC since it's where the real life stuff starts!

Contestants must not have an existing competition driving contract with any motor sports team, body, agent or management company that conflicts with his/her ability to accept the Prize.

Contestants must not have previously held a National A or superior MSA license or equivalent in another Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) recognized ASN and not have competed in a national level Karting Championship for more than two full seasons.

GT Academy about halfway down

Not sure if that would apply to you man.

I just purchased a 370z, and took it to Indy (kept entirely stock). I have ABS:0 and everything else off. Is this the exact setup that was used in the demo? Have the physics been updated at all?

I was just trying to compare some times to last year's time trials. After about a 30-45 minutes I managed a couple 1:48's, including a 1:48.2xx (about top 10-20 in the US). Is this right...or have the physics been updated?

Also, anyone know exactly which 370z to use for the "tuned" version from last year's time trial? Can you buy it, win it, pick it up used...?

Thanks...

West Registered.
GAAAAH!
I need to get a drivers license.
Problem: Gotta get it before the finals (If i make it there)
This means taking the driving test in winter in Alaska

One of the N tires was used (comfort class tires in GT5 i believe). Can't remember if it was N1 or N3 though...

West Coast. Bought the DFGT wheel to try to get better TT. Good luck!!!

Be nice if Seattle DLC dropped. There's a Nissan warehouse near my work and about 100 miles from sears point.

Update - I just found some old demos. Looks like they were using N3 tires. I believe these are equivalent to Comfort Soft tires in GT5.

I'll give it another go tonight, and see if I can get close... However, on other cars it seems comfort tires compared to sports tires is a big gap.

Im in WOO!....no confirmation email yet.

I am soo ready for this, goin to buy the best GT5 wheel i can find, and practice like no tommmorow, anyone who wants to start practicing please lets try to co-ordinate some kind or schedule, I'm super serious about this.

Update on practice plans...

Sticking to real world courses, already pretty good at Laguna Seca (used to battle a friend on it almost daily in the early days). Definitely working on Indy Road Course as well as the Daytona Road Course. Looking for additional choices - any input is welcome. I think its almost a given they are going to include most American courses, but who knows? It seems that with the Red Bull X1 that the Nurburgring GP/F is likely to be included in the time trials as well...

Either way time to start flogging away at it! :gtpflag:

Southeast region, and I have a conviction, but gonna give it a shot anyway and see where I stack up. Good luck everyone!

Ok, I'm sure you've all heard that the 370z tuned Academy Version is in this game - I've only heard of it being a chance thing as a gift car. If anyone else knows a solid way to get this car it would be a huse advantage for some early practice - almost certain it will be one of the time trial cars...

💡

I am surprised that no one is even setting up practice rooms nor even mentioning anything about them...

Source? I'm sure it's in the game if you build it, but not as a stand-alone car. I'm sure we'll have to download it to use in the time trials.

Signed up. West region.

Read through most of the post.. I don't think Laguna Seca would be an issue with the Mazda thing to be honest. Last time I was there (couple months ago for an HPDE) a school of SLS AMGs were sitting in the paddock, though that may have been related to the Skip Barber school there.
