I know the download is around 3gb but can someone tell me the unpacked (installed) size because it tends to be larger and I think I might need to make some room.

Thanks

Robin.

3GB plus 35MB ( update ) as I know so far.

Promoting the Nissan Leaf will of course be of a big financial benifit to them, if they sell saya 500 from doing this it will probably pay for itself. say £4000 profit a car then = £2'000'000 profit. I thought what a joke when i found out it was the Leaf being used in this but now it's grown on me and i can see how in next 15-20 years how this will probably be what a everyday family car will be like. Electrical motors are pretty powerful, i think the Leaf is something like 9-10 seconds to 60 which is what the same as most other family cars. Just not quite there yet in terms of value for money and practicality. (Top gear episode)
Although im still a proper petrol head and can't see me having anything Electric anytime soon! current car is a diesel and i hate it im going back to petrol soon as i sell it, nice to drive but just boring.

It was implied in the motoring press recently that Nissan make a loss on every Leaf they sell.
They lose financially but they gain customers. And the sales help pay towards an investment for development work for Nissan EVs.

Ahahah, it wasn't i was just happy they continued it, not any special reason for it, but who knows, world economy isn't any wasy specially for automobile companies, and for nissan to keep this alive was just an awesome news for me.
It was just a commentary without any mean :P

Ah, I get you know, cool cool, the buz is in the air :) 👍

I would think this is only when you take development costs into account, or ignore the grants that the UK government handed to Nissan to manufacture the Leaf in the UK at it's Sunderland factory.

If you have a product making a negative gross profit (i.e. before you add overheads/indirect costs into the mix) then it wouldn't make business sense unless they had other revenue streams.

It's like how Top Gear claimed that the Bugatti Veyron was selling at a £4.2million loss, which was a load of rubbish because it included R&D costs which can't be solely attributed due to the possiblity of using the technology for other projects.

I did do a search for it but didn't come up with anything so shoot me if this was discussed earlier.

Saw an advertisement for GT Academy on TV a couple of days ago. Showed some in-game footage of what I could swear was a track I did not recognize. Before realizing what I saw it was already over (joined in halfway).

Can't find it online nor do I see anyone else discussing it. I don't want to say I'm going insane and coming up with things, so am I the only person who'se seen that ad and it is indeed a new/different track? :)

If I remember right, you came out of a tunnel in a slightly left hand turn before turning into a wide, right turn. I thought it did have road markings and wasn't Eiger.

I think these first rounds are useless... Too short TT's. Differences between drivers are insignificant.

It's a good way to make people to join GT Academy, and learn some basics of GT, but I personally don't like it too much. I'll wait till the Final Round that is the one that counts for Nationals. I'm ranked in Top 20 in some of them and I've seen some of you guys in there :D Great Times m8s!! ;) I wish I could get into the National Finals this year.

well, make a list of all the tracks available [with a tunnel] in GT5. Then widdle it down to which one fits the description. Let me know what you find. I'm curious...

I can't really remember what the rest looked like. Hopefully I'll see the commercial again tonight. I'll definitely get some screens up when I see the ad.

Thought the tests were pretty easy. Golded everything at the first try (who doesn't?) with the DS3. Hoping for some fun prize cars :)

Was hoping there'd be an increase in length/difficulty with these but it's pretty much the same as Round 2. Still, I'm happy to have something new to try.

Same, don't like the 350z either..

Only round 8 section 5 matters the rest is all for the casual gaming market as normal.
I assume your first :sly: on every section on all rounds now then :). If its that easy :)

It's not about that. If it's short then the leaderboard will be packed so closely together and from then on it is just about who did the most tries to get that one perfect lap.

The gold times are still stupidly easy, they obviously want everyone to get to the last round. Be interesting to see how many stick it out though, I imagine many will get tired of waiting for the new rounds and forget about it or jst lose interest.

The fact that they put the tc at 7 for the 370z, on sports hard tyres, shows the sort of difficulty level they're aiming for here.

I don't need to be first at any stage of this part of the competition. It's all about being in the top 16 of your region when the last round ends. I could give up most of my week to try stay in the top 10 for every challenge, but there's no pay off to doing that. Retrying 20-30 second time trials over and over isn't a great way to improve either; racing people online and hot lapping with tire-deg on is how I like to really practice.

If I recall correctly.

The 2nd Academy challenge was a download containing the Indianapolis F1 Track as a stand alone before GT5 came out.

The 370Z in that had TC set at 7 as well. Maybe they forgot to reset it?

I think the standard 370 in that demo had comfort soft tires. It was crazy hard to drive at first. The physics engine was slightly different too, especially on the grass.

Way to go cheaters in round 4-5....wasted 30mins of my life tyring to take down Takeuzchi untill I finally downloaded the replay and saw how come is he carrying so much speed through corner....arggh, thumbs up for GTA and PD!

Haven't bothered checking other replays but I asume there will be lots cheaters soon in that round....👎

Ye it kinda blows the bashing other cars, I certainly am not doing it, but it is possible to beat that time. If you nail the first complex perfectly on 4-5 you can overtake on the inside before the right and you should make it, without drifting into the gravel and ruining the time! I nearly did it but slightly clipped the yellow car but that was my own misjudgement.

On another note, my videos will be uploading all through the night for anyone interested of my first night at rounds 3 and 4. Only spent a maximum of 20 minutes on any 1 event. Overall combined times on rounds 3 and 4 = #1 UK, so have a look at the videos see if you learn on anywhere to improve. I certainly can see alot of time on a few events, especially La sarthe with the skyline!

Nobody is really arsed how long you spent on each event? there's no medals for the least attempts even though it does sounds better! as long as you feel you give it your best effort ;)

Nice times btw! 👍 but you are sitting ahead of me on round 4 and I will have to fix that with as many attempts as I see fit :sly: 👍

Back to the grindstone :) hate that cape ring combo though :yuck:
