I have yet to download this, better go off and give it a go. I have some friends on my PSN that are in top 50 in the latest TT!!

Any tips for the 4/5 chicane or is it just pure luck getting the turn in right and missing the cone by mm?

You have to take a risk and gun it, just make sure the left hander before the chicane you try and keep as far left to make it as straight as possible. Easier said than done, but it pays off you can find yourself a chunk of time.

What Twissy said is right, if you want the top time you just have to gun it through there (Well played Twissy on #1 UK :D), but initially I would be patient with the car and relax, so just do 3/4 throttle through most if it just to get your initial line settled and get the flow going :).

Any tips for the last 2 corners? had my first bash at this last night and i'm losing a lot of time in this section. Can't seem to hook up a good corner entry and when i think i have nailed it the faster ghost car(cheers des :)) just pulls away relentlessly

Dont want to bash on about active steering but I find it to be quite ridiculous.

I'm not the fastest out there by any stretch of the imagination, I've whittled my time down to a poultry 1:32.290 with zero AIDS. Barr ABS 1.

After my session today I thought 'well lets just see how much difference active steering actually makes'... By the FIRST CORNER I was a whole car length ahead of my best ghost! A car length!!

I take that final corner consistently and arrive into the first corner dead even every time. I switch on active steering for 30 seconds and it gives me gains instantly. A car length off one corner!? Wow.

It seems to me that it smooths out steering inputs (even when applying a smooth arc), sorts out the cars balance and to some degree the traction as well. Though the latter would be helped by the previous two.

I guess I should see just how much on the whole lap I can gain with this eye opener I had today. Its obvious I cant race GT the 'real simulation' way and hope to make any progress up the leaderboard.

I'm actually staggered by that. And people were trying to say it makes no ends. Haha!

Cant beat em, forced to join em

:(

What?

I have 1:33:545 and I was as last night 3400th something in global.
?????

Manuelos: Some crazy times in our region. Sadly only 8 places to fill for 2 countries (when you look how many spots other countries are getting  ). I hope at least on Luxemburger will be able to snatch one of those spots. Will try to play everyday a few laps to continue improving and at least make a nice stand in the top 20. i had Arno's gost yesterday. Crazy pace the guy is pushing... Good luck to you

yep you right it says 582 but thought that cant be right maybe the leaderboards are messed up :(

That's what I'm focusing on tonight, my fastest laps would have been low 31's but similarly the last 2 corners so I'm going to really focus there. I'll let you know if I find anything interesting there :).

foul play

Maybe you were looking at the leaderboard for your region?

Finally Dualshocked my way to < 1:36:00.

Cruised through the other 39 gold trophies but my god 8-5 was a pain in the arse navigating the chicane and the last 2 corners.

Well it is chained together with the 2nd and 3rd turn. Take the 2nd a bit slower, get to the right , take the 3rd corner near the cones and stay left, and then 4th and 5th can be cut through.

Sounds easy but it ain't. It's the most difficult part because they hang togehter. Loose too much time in the 2nd and lost. Go to fast to the 2nd and the rest will be hard to get a proper pass through....

The track seems easy, but it is way more technical than Daytona

Yep, it's the biggest time gainer/loser for sure. I can be a car length behind a top 10 ghost going into 4, 5+ car lengths behind coming out.

^Yes. Improved a lot today on that segement but lost everywhere else on my yesterday time.

Today was def. not my day to make the perfect lap.

Well I will try more tomorrow but have higher hopes for the weekend as I will not be dead tired.

My time from yesterday (97th) is now 122nd :(:(

But if I chained my best segements together I should be able to do at least a 1:32.low

Am so determined to get into the 31s. I thought I almost had it but ended up with 1:32.001!!! Its all about turns 4 and 5 for me, I am near enough keeping up for most of the lap (maybe dropping a few tenths) but that high speed chicane is damn tricky.

I am coming out of 2, going as right as possible then hugging it right in to the apex through 3 to try and get as left as possible on the exit for the best run through the chicane. I give it a little lift as I turn into 4 then am almost but not quite full throttle through 5. I think maybe I'm not accelerating as early as I should.

What are people doing with the throttle through turns 4/5?

^A lot of the turns on the circuit are better taken slow and heavy accelerate out when there is a long stretch after, just like 4/5.

For 4/5 i stay very left, lift off gas till car is directed to the curb on 4 and then push 100% through 4/5 in 4th gear.
That's how I do it since today, but it is hard to do because it requires that 2/3 are taken good as well and fast enough

Finally got into the top 16.

It's so frustrating, I know I can hook up a much faster lap, but I rarely ever actually complete a lap, either because I hit the reset button after a few bends or I hit a cone... Then when I do hook up a good start to the lap, by the time I get to the back section I've not driven it for so long I do something stupid.

It's so competitive right now though, I expect I'll be 25th or so by tomorrow. Anyone know the details of the Live Events this year? I know there's something this weekend which I'd expect would let through a few people, but it says on the GT site that 16 people will come through live events?! So where is the announcement of when and where they'll be?

I really hope they do another one at the O2 in London, that was great last year.

Down to a 1.31.508, 10th in the UK, 90th in the world, the last corner is really annoying me, I can get within 2/3 tenths of Twissy's time before it, but then lose another tenth or two going through it :( Any tips, what's the best line? If I can nail the last corner it could put me up around 5th in the UK, 30th in the world. Still really pleased with my time though, just wish I could qualify

👎 they only quick because they use a wheel for gods sake  dont pat them on the back for that fella give them a pad stick then lets see them get 1.31s or even 1.32s

Your funny. I really hope you are joking. I wish you had a wheel so you could show off those skills. You act like it is so easy to run mid 31's with a wheel, what a joke.

I've been a DS3 user for a long time. Got my first steering wheel last week(DFGT). It's totally different, changed the game entirely! A lot harder than you'd expect, I'd be faster with the stick ATM I can guarantee it! I'd get a wheel though. It is so much better!

Just did a 1'34.016 with a DS3 in cockpit view, would love to compare my time(s) with other pad drivers, but there's no filter in the rankings. 8(
