As I said tiredness was my problem, just got a .3 and I thought I'd run against Ti-techs time and I was quicker through all of section 1 and the long left long right (On 1 lap and then I hit the cone on the second to last which was annoying!), so my aim is quite high now that im more awake :) (Well I've only just got up haha :D)

You will be suprised when you see how fast Ti-techs takes the last turn. I am in front of him till the last turn, than he takes off. Best time so far is 1.31.080

Yes, I just took a look at that. You currently need a 1:31.3xx to be in the top 16 in France and a 1:31.5 to be in the top 16 UK/Ireland:nervous:

How about we rent a house together in Russia next year:idea:

Guess I'll just have to improve my driving instead =o)

By now the big surprise is the lack of competitivity in Germany and USA. Come on mates, burn that tires!
1.31.3xx for France
1.31.3xx for Spain/Portugal
1.31.4xx for Italy
1.31.4xx for UK and Ireland
1.31.4xx for Japan (if it was included)
1.31.5xx for Germany
1.31.6xx for Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg
1.31.6xx for USA top32
1.31.8xx for Austria/Poland
1.32.0xx for Switzerland
1.32.3xx for Russia (I would be in final too!!!)

I'm starting to think 1:31.1xx's will be needed for top 16 at least.

I'm at a 1:31:3xx and feel I have more time, but it's a case of hooking it up... I always find on my best laps I mess up the last hair pin.

Ye that's the problem at the moment with the last time, it's quite a precise angle you need the car at I'm just practicing that now, I knocked another tenth of with a little practice at that corner.

Today I found an aricle about GT Academy 2012. It's written in dutch but it says:

- GT Academy in 12 countries across Europe
- Belgium, the Netherlands, France & Switzerland
- online time trail starting in march
- 20 best players go to the national finale
- Belgium finale at Spa (probably) (together with the finalist from the Netherlands, France & switzerland)
- 2 candidates per region are going to the big finale at Silverstone (20 in total)
- final at Silverstone takes 6 days

is that a picture of you in the pink t-shirt if so you are a hottie

The battle keeps going on in Belgium. GTP_Racer_LP now in 5th with a 01.31.570, me in 8th with a 01.31.615. Made some small improvements today, though I'm still waiting for that one, near-perfect lap. Seeing my ghost I think a low 31.5 is possible.

In a way I'm relieved to not have a competitive GT Academy in New Zealand for 2012 (due to NZ not being eligible for the grand prize).

The times that some of the regions are doing are nearly on the limit of what's possible with this car and if I try to keep up with you guys I'd have no time at all to study for my exams

Keep pushing if you're competing for a spot in a national final 👍

Now I realise where I have been going wrong on the last corner, now lets put that lap together and I think a 30.7/.8 is in order!

I expect at some point someone to get a .7 if you completely nail that first sector the actual time you can get is pretty barmy to be honest, I'd say the perfect lap would be a high .5 or low .6

Finally into the 31.5's => 1:31.532 and back in 4th place on the Belgium/Luxembourg leaderboard (187th overall).
That's going to be it for today :P

I feel your pain aswell....had almost one car length advantage against him before the last turn and finished only in 31.022....:banghead:

I have no prob with taking that corner fast but there's no obvious braking point for that one....winning time will surely be in 30'8 but I doubt anyone will score into .7..

What is that you do on the last corner, I lose 4 tenth alone there

Do tell Obi-Wan ;) just saw you did a 31.1, great job! 👍 I finally got into the 1.31s and noticed that the top 600 is within 1 second - never seen that before..

With me I was going in to deep which was where I was losing so much time a wider line with the right angle (Which you get from trail braking) and you won't drop lower than 41mph. If I do what I did earlier I'm sure of what I can get. I've never been far off with times in the past about what's possible so I'm sure that .7's will be hit but lets see.

If anyone is struggling my tutorial video is being made at the moment, but my lap that I'm doing it on is here;

what view do you play in?

Bumper, but I show the 3rd Eye to show how close/far from apex's and cones I am and to show how the car is reacting from the outside :P.

Also the TV Cameras on that video just to show the different angles, I love the chicane Camera, really nice view, will look amazing on the second lap of a race (As that's the second lap view).

awesome, I use the bumper cam as well, I will have to try your method of shifting to 3rd before accelerating out the corners, it seems to work for you 👍

It creates alot of stability, it still slides slightly but it's far more controllable. 2nd has far to much torque for the grip unless you're already pointing straight!

hopefully this is where I have been going wrong, I will try it in the morning with a clear head. Thanks for the tips :)

:scared::scared::crazy:

You guys are so putting near perfect laps, it's carzy. The competition between the people is ridiculous-

I finally got time to play today, 6 hour stint. Mostly just trying the best way for sections. But my heads hurt now
After my last play I was on pos. 97th. Today I look, down to 243rd:ill:.

Now I am 123rd, but finally get some good clean sections.

Tomorrow an other stint and hopefully an other 123 postitoon down:sly: would be awesome. No, I am happy if tomorrow I get again sub 80 pos.

I clearly see the 0.500 - 0.800 getting shaved off if I nail a good lap

Ran the exact same time as Takeuchi....:mischievous:....well need to drive into .8 anyway so...:). Also, I'm now absolutely sure that .7 is the limit at least with AS turned on.

The level of competition and the laps everybody are runing is insane and crazy.....I love it!

You should try without it. I think the best time will be achieved without it on.

Great work Zoky :)! That's one thing I love about this competition, is the competition :D!

I agree with Saidur here, without to me seems to just give that slight advantage!

I HOPE that.

By the way, as a less talented member I considered starting some kind of support :gtplanet:

Here are the entry levels:
1.31.3xx for France
1.31.3xx for Spain
1.31.4xx for Italy
1.31.4xx for UK and Ireland
1.31.4xx for Japan (if it was included)
1.31.5xx for Germany
1.31.5xx for the Netherlands (8 seats)
1.31.5xx for Belgium&Luxembourg (8 seats)
1.31.6xx for USA (32 seats)
1.31.8xx for Poland
1.31.8xx for Portugal

Countries not involved in GT Academy show really slow times. Dudes! If you want PD keeps an eye on you, you should make it better ;)
Go Finland! Go Canada!

Now, all (known) GTP member positions up to mine. If you are in the range and not listed, give me a shout. If you aren't in the range.... keep improving :D If you are listed and haven't a WRS rank... please consider doing the WRS qualification

Good luck to all, guys.

EDIT: can't upload photos now, will do when back to home.

great time Zoky, Takeuchi is now on 1:30.896, I imagine he said something along the lines of 'beat that!' in japanese when he set the time, good luck :)

Ti-tech85 has regained top spot now. Quite a few top drivers missing so far, hopefully they join in later for the fight for 1st.

Well improved my .1 a bit further, annoyingly the lap after I could see half my arrow!! Mainly due to my not so good sector 1 and pretty decent rest of lap, last corner I messed up slightly but not to much maybe only lost 0.05 but even so, I could only imagine what that next lap could have been :)!

The top is looking ever close, and I'd love to join that fight for sure but lets see what happens and congratulations to ti-tech for his #1 time at the moment :)!

Edit: That French leaderboard is rather insane lol! The Spanish isn't far behind!!
