GT Academy Prize Car Seasonal

Are people tuning their cars with non-reversible upgrades(weight reduction, stage tuning)?

I've found you can put in a reasonable time with just the reversible upgrades.

After a few laps to get used to the track, running consistent 1.19s.

Still a second back from Samurai_405 though.

Hi there all, anyone got a good setup for the 370z on Tokyo please, as i cant stand this car handling like a teenager in a brothel lol

I have been working on it for the past few hours but for some reason this cars handling has evaded me, lol. 'Bout ready to give up trying to tune the damn thing. Maybe its too early in the morning and I haven't taken my magic meds yet, lol.

I just tuned my car earlier

What car did you get from the level 8 ticket..i got a skyline GT-R M-spec Nur (R34) '02!

For the race, a stock 461pp 370z needs to finish the race in less than 10:10.xxx. The lead car usually finished the race in around 10:10 to 10:12, the average lead car lap is at 2:07. In order to win, one has to set a quick 1st lap of at least 2:04.xxx then from 2nd lap onwards - 2:01.xxx. Has anyone managed to win the race at Tokyo r246 with fully stock 370z - no tuning / oil change ?
The key to win is run as smooth as possible and drafting the car in front in every lap when going on the final straight

First race in my bone stock 370 I finished 6th, but I had a real shot at 5th!

Second race I got 5th! :D

I think your math is off cause I did lap 1 in 2:04 and then averaged 2:01 for the other 4 laps and still finished 10 seconds behind. So apparently 2:02 and then 1:59 is more like what you need.

I won the race with a stock car and finished it in 10:09.xxx, the 2nd car finished at 10:10.xxx, close one. I tried several times before, and saw that the lead car averaging at 10:10.xxx sometimes 10:09.xxx or 10:.12.xxx. Usually the lead car 1st lap is 1:44.xx then 2nd and on are around 2:07.xxx or 2:08.xxx.

I'd just tried with some tuning - 490pp, the lead AI car finished the race in 9:59.xxx !!! So, apparently the AI does level with player's car, mmm this needs further testing ...

I just looked at my replay and the lead car did 10:01

I did 10:11. Bone stock. Not even an oil change. 461PP. So whatever difference there is has nothing to do with tuning.

I did paint my car, so maybe the game sees it as "modified".

Anybody else have race times for the AI?

^That's really weird, I just did another race with a stock 370Z, 465pp, 331hp, no oil change, but broken in with 500+km on the odo. The lead car did 10:01.xxx, might this be random occurrences ?

Edit : Another race, this time the lead AI finish in 10:03.xxx.

I threw on some reversible upgrades and did the race in 9:55. Lead AI was 10:00. He would have been 9:59 but he slowed down when I was passing him.

Just a side note, I won the race with 321hp, 461pp 370z, right after I golded the TT - it had less than 100 kilometres on the odo. I don't know if it has anything to do with the AI's pace, but after racking distance, with 331hp, now it seems for the race, AI's pace is around 10:01.xxx - 10:03.xxx.

I won but had lap times 1.58.5 - 159.5 only with times under 2.00 did I have a shot at winning sports suspension custom LSD

After I think the second car's seasonal, I couldn't do the races or the time trials without upgrading to some extent. Makes me feel bad that I can't win a one spec race easily, but all I care about are the prizes.

I don't mind upgrading the cars either (mostly the reversible ones), since that's kind of the whole point of GT5!

Well, looks like Silex95 has decided to put 2 accounts in the top 5 👎.
Anyways, nice lap Lewis_Hamilton_! you're about to get 1st again!! :)

I'm running Endless-Wilsos tune with the following changes:
Added 5kg more than he did at +50 instead of -50 to get 50/50 weight distribution.
Brake Balance at 2/4
It payed off almost immediately as I ran a 1:18.225 after about 3 laps and I still have many more tenths left in me!

Edit: 1:18.055 in 2nd place!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I lost 2 tenths in sector 3 so a 1:17.8 is possible!!!!

Maybe i wrote - & + backwards because it was suppossed to be 50/50 :ouch:
Happy to hear it helped though 👍

Got it for now, but you're VERY close behind! Nice times doodle.

I still think there's half a second in there, made lots of slides and mistakes, or not accelerating early enough. Here's the tune I made; it's very grippy and predictable. I don't know how close or far away my tunes are from the expert tuners, but I always start mine from scratch. I predict how a car is going to handle judging by it's drive and weight distribution, then just tinker a little if it's not quite right for my driving style.

Edit: Just noticed there's a piece of cake on the camera lenses . The setting that's covered is "2" incase you couldn't quite see it.

Whats that thing on the two when you look at antiroll bars

Uh..so...I golded the TT just a few minutes ago, then I go into my settings. For some reason, I had turned the power down to 90% this morning and was running at 450PP. So I got the gold time with 30 less HP than normal.

....

I'm quite proud of myself right now.

Some marble cake I baked and was munching my way through. Altough it does have special 'herbal' ingredients in it :embarrassed:

Sounds like my kind of cake, lol. I have a medical marijuana card so I'm partial to brownies from the dispensory here.

Thanks for posting your tune Lewis 👍

Went from a 19.2s with my tune to a 18.7s with yours.

I haven't lightened my car,so it can still be driven as stock-for rooms with tuning prohibited.

Keep eating those 'magic' cakes buddy

No wonder it handles well with that weight distribution it must drive like an NSX , imma have to try it for myself out of curriosity.
