GT Academy Prize Car Seasonal

Using the fixed suspension, a fully customizable transmission tuned to a top speed of 149, and all the HP-adding removable parts, as well as a traction control of 5, skid recovery on, and mild active steering, I beat the lead car by .864. I'm normally not fond of so many additions (I prefer to run stock with only ABS 1), but that setup will work if you need it.

Also I used brakes of 6 front, 4 rear. Forgot to add that, but that seems rather subjective.

I have seen many users who put their tunes do not use chassis reinforcement and I wondered why.

It's irreversible. And it's not usually needed. There is a thread out there that explains why. Try a search on chassis reinforcement.

As far as I know, the chassis reinforcement increases a car's tendency to understeer (in most cases). Not a chatacteristic a majority of tuners are not fond of.

The race is quite a lot harder than the rest did it easily with all aids :) and max tuning.

I beat the race with a tune and a driving line because it would take a long time for me to master the first corner because of the braking with these sh tires.i beat the time trial with just a tune.no driving aids,no driving line, just abs

I use chassis reinforcement on cars that oversteer badly. Not really sure if it helps.

I only use chassis reinforcement on older vehicles, generally on anything from the late 70's/early 80's and below, unless it's got a half decent chassis already.

I'll be keeping mine stock (except for yellow paint). If I have to tune it for the seasonal I'll do as little as possible, and no permanent mods.

I regret having fully tuned my chromeline cars when I first got the game.

For all my skill, I can't do the Tokyo race with the 370Z. I'm pretty bad at that particular track anyways, but using this car seems to be quite a task for me.

I had little trouble golding the time trial, which surprised me because I've been having trouble with those. I've been adding all the HP I can without doing the engine mods or anything irreversible, and I still have trouble getting in to 9th place.

Anyone have a good tune and a good racing line that will help me? I know there is only today and tomorrow....so actually I just want a better racing line for Tokyo.

I finally won at Tokyo using Lewis_Hamilton_'s tune (Thank You!). My best finish before his tune was 6th. It still took several tries and some slight tweaking of the LSD before I got 3rd. Next race I was only 2 seconds behind. Was getting frustrated so I decided to take a break, besides the dogs were going crazy after an earthquake. I tried again this morning and, after a restart due to way too much throttle exiting the 3rd turn, I finally won. I passed for the lead at the halfway through the last lap and then won by 3 seconds.

I am starting to wonder how hard these are going to get and if I will be able to gold the rest.

If you want to be fast at Tokyo you need to slow down. Get into the corners without sliding.

I regret having fully tuned my chromeline cars when I first got the game.

I had to change ps3 due the ylod but saved my data so had to download my stealths again in shiny 0/0/0.:)

I wonder if it is possible to delete them from the game and download them again?

Great fun on TT!! Stock at all (not even oil change) 1:23 dead TC/0 ABS/1. I guess the first 2 corners are the key to win and the way you transfer the weight between the front and rear wheels when breaking seems the way to do it.
Unfortunately I need to travel tomorrow and the race was getting into my nerves at the second try so I maxed out the car and made some tunes to win.

A friend of mine did that with the Gamestop NASCAR car. He deleted it and re-downloaded and it worked for him.

I wish I knew. I want to delete my stealth SLS and redownload it, keep it stock. Too scared I'd lose it to risk it though.

Oh good, I'm not the only one having trouble on Tokyo with a stock car.. Phew :P

I know I tried a little while ago mate and it said car cannot be removed from garage, think that was before they made DLC cars removable though:tup:

Stealth & Chromeline cars can't be deleted from the garage, what you can do however is delete your installed game data (not save data), reinstall it then go to your download list in account management and redownload them. They will pop up in your garage brand new, 0/0/0 and with no modifications.

I finished a distant 12th first go :dopey: Don't like Tokyo.

I've been using no ABS but this car seems particularly unstable under braking (using controller though). However with ABS on the car seem much more stable generally, even less wheelspin. Of course it could be due to a better attitude in the corner - as it is easier to keep the car straight.

Haven't been better than 6th so far, not sure if I'll get a last chance effort tonight though.

I really like the Aso TT track though - great up hill section to the tight peak.

If you are having difficulties braking ( unstable ) without ABS aid, try to lower BB value at the rear, 5/0 or 4/0. More positive rear toe also helps a lot.

Sorry, didn't mention in my post. I normally go for 3/1 as starter. I found the inside rear would lock up so changed to 3/0 but still had a bit of trouble.

I find it hard with DS3 to get the threshold without being a bit on-off. Obviously if I get chance to play with my wheel things are much easier - I thought this car was great in the Academy using wheel.

Part of the problem is me trying to rush to get some seasonals done, but of course 'slow is fast'. Need a bit of time without children in the room!

Will look at the rear toe though. 👍

Stealth and Chromeline cars are no longer available and are not trad-able.

Edit: You're welcome.

Since this has become the one and only thread for GTA Seasonals, would it benefit the community if the thread author would update the first post with popular setups?

This 370Z is a serious pain in the (_|_) to drive!!!

Makes you wonder if it's this unruly in real life.

I have a 2012 370Z and it's nowhere near as unruly as the one in the game ... my tires don't slip and squeal on 80 mph corners like they do in game. In fact the real 370Z has crazy amounts of mechanical grip, but you would never know it from playing GT5.
