GT Academy Prize Car Seasonal

The biggest problem with course maker tracks is that they lack any form of curbing throughout most of the circuit, especially on the type of corners that would definitely have them on any real life circuit.

I haven't seen Doodle's or anyone else's replay so I don't know how much they're supposedly cutting, but on my lap, I tried not to hack away at the grass. It is possible to get away with a lot and at no point did I come near a disqualification. I didn't see myself as cutting corners anymore than what the F1 racers do every race. I could have done it a lot worse and gained more time, but then I would start getting worried that PD would wipe the lap times like they have done a couple of times before.

In my opinion, there's a difference between attacking a corner and blatantly driving off the circuit to miss a section of tarmac out.

The won't take the event unless people find a flaw in the track boundaries and start cutting of entire corners.

I'm so close to beating yinatos time. I nearly got a 59.4xx but I went wide on the last turn. :dunce:

Hello my friends,

I have played only 30 minutes today because I had to wait until my girlfriend comes home from his work. My turn is bad and I think I have 3/10 margin with my setup which is also very bad...

I will improve my time tomorrow night but first I'd like to ask my friend Doodlemonoply if it was possible to try your setup? I do not own the car, so it's hard for me to try several configurations... :guilty:

Still speaking to Doodlemonoply, I'd congratulate him for his wonderful progress, we must now turn driving my friend, you become very good.

Congratulations also to Lewis_hamilton which is very respectable for his conduct and performance, well done.

I wish you all a good night, see you soon.

[PS] : AnTiheLT, The holidays are final soon, I have to sell my game configuration complete to finalize Gran Turismo 5, I have little time, we will meet again on Gran Turismo 6, 5 or 10 years! :P

Regards,
Yinato.

I used Lewis_Hamilton_'s setup that he posted here https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=7466597#post7466597. He really knows how to tune cars well. :) I actually have no idea how to setup cars :dunce:

Thanks! :D I saw that you beat my time earlier today and it took me almost 2 hours to get to the 59.6xx range. I think one time I was 0.213 ahead of you on T1 but I usually get nervous when I'm ahead of you. :nervous: I think a 59.2xx or less might be the best I can do.

Where can I get the Nissan SKYLINE GT-R V-Spec II Nür (GT Academy) '02?

It says that I have to finish the 5th round of the "GT Academy 2012", but where can I do that? :indiff:

You can't anymore, you had to win that car during the Academy, when it was still live. Not sure if the academy cars can be gifted.

But they can for sure be borrowed if you have a friend who has the car(s)

No, the Academy cars cannot be gifted. They can only be shared and borrowed. No other way of getting them.

Back in 2nd with a 59.441. I hope I can actually finish in the top 5 this week :nervous:

how about trying to do a lap WITHOUT driving on the grass??? they dont do this on real racing so why do it now?

Because this is not real racing. It's a game. And whatever doesn't turn the lap red is allowed.

Driving on the grass... If you want to be the best lawnmower driver (Virtual) then go for it.

Used a (Lewis Hamilton based) set up posted here... with amazing toe out numbers. But Ididn't do any weight reduction balast adding turbo bolt on restiictor plate sutff... just Suspension and LSD and a gearbox... (That I think I muffed up st as it felt way too high for 2nd.)

Even with my half hearted use of what must be a blue rubbon set up the car felt almost there... which is pretty darn good as for me Skylines usually feel pretty heavy and unwilling to the nimble stuff.

TT was nice as at first I thought I was never going to get it... but Managed to get gold just by learning the layout...

I did try it with ABS - and the set up made much more sense - no need to balance the throttle or be smooth on the brakes. But that is no fun; for me anyhow.

Good luck on having a top finish. I was bored so I borrowed someones Nissan and got up to 39th place, I'm happy with that because I haven't had hours and hours of practice like I normally would need.

Nice lap! I don't know how you guys do it. I drove an embarrassing 470 miles on this TT for a week only to wake up this morning to find you snuck in overnight one spot ahead of me!

At 50 yrs old, my reflexes aren't what they used to be, but I hear you that it usually takes you hours and hours of practice. So, maybe I don't do so bad. This will only be my first top 50 result though. Anyway, nice lap for being bored!

Cheers, try and beat it if you can :) I don't think reflexes are so important at this sort of speed, when you play enough to know what is going to happen next then you don't have to react. Then again what would I know about losing reflexes? I'm 19.

Don't think he means reflex so much as muscle reaction time. The older you get the farther ahead you have to plan 'cause the muscles just aren't as quick to obey what the brain tells them. At almost 49 I know of what I speak. ;)

Didn't know there was a difference, but, yea, the linkage just isn't what it used to be!

This is a good point. Regardless of age, driving skills can still improve. Not to state the obvious!

There are things you can do to slow down the deterioration of both muscle tissue and neural pathways but it's gonna happen.

I'm 46 and disabled with many damaged nerves and such. I was involved in an auto accident little over a year ago. Near death and was told I would never walk again. I have proved them wrong as I am walking now. Anything can be overcome if you have the will to do so, no matter how old you are. I fight through pain every day when playing and continue to improve my motor skills. I have my sights set on being a finalist for next years Academy and nothing is gonna stop me. Not my disability and certainly not my age. My point, age should never be a factor in this game and your skill level. That is the least of my worries as I have a much more formidable opponent to overcome.

^^ I look forward to seeing you at silverstone next year.

Not sure if you're being a smartass or not but I'm going to do whatever it takes. I'm not making any guarantees, but I'm going to give it all I got to get there.

I think the next TT will be the last one I put an effort on mainly due to the fact I don't want to use any non-removable parts on the tuned cars.

Anyways I'm very happy about my 5th place finish at Eifel Kart because it ties my best seasonal TT finish ever and it's my 7th top 10 finish. Congratulations to Yinato for getting the win this week with an amazing 59.009. :) Also, I'm quite happy that I'm not only the fastest DS3 player but the fastest without active steering as well. 👍
