Good to see Jann scoring his first points in F3 championship today and also ahead of his race 1 winning team mate. 👍. Looks to have been quite a close ending.

Almost ready !

Struggling with engine problems during Qualify and race1 and race2, the 10th place in the grid looked like capable to get us out of a good result... Nevertheless, and while getting ready for the race, I remembered the fantastic Senna lap at Donington 1993 - where in one lap he overtakes 6 cars...

You must believe it can happen to you to... I've visualized that goal and I achieved it... Thank you Ayrton!

I leave you guys the onboard and a big apologize for the #25 Pedro Barros Leite and António Costa for the touch totally without intention.

I gotta ask, if Jann excels in F3, I mean does exceptionally great, would there be any ties with Nissan and Toro Rosso for Jann to get a test and possible seat in the near future? Maybe in 2 years if not sooner? I'm thinking sooner. Any thoughts realistically and/or hypothetically?

Their current "plan" for him in F3 is so that he can get used to high downforce cars in preparation for LMP racing. So they say...

Here is Steve like Nissan's stig:

Jann has said his aim is F1. I think it will take at least 2 years before in contention of making step to F1. He may even partner fellow Gran Turismo gamer Sebastian in the Infiniti sponsored Red Bull in near future ;). Anything is possible as long as Jann keeps on progressing well and so far he looks to be doing that. Hockenheim qualifying later on today in F3.

It is strange state of Formula racing at moment as money is probably main thing on getting a seat rather than mainly talent. Nick Cassidy which I think would have the potential to win GP3, missed out on that seat to someone who will most likely be out of his depth in GP3, no disrespect to Ryan but he was struggling in the TRS so I don't think it is a good career move to go to GP3 where he will most likely struggle more.

Nick was right at sharp end of grid in testing while Ryan was right at the back so I don't know why Marussia would choose Ryan unless it is for purely money reasons. Like I say very strange decision I feel. Who knows Nick might get chance to step in later in season if that is possible but shame for Nick as he probably would have had a good chance to win championship.

He bought a 300ZX and has been auto-crossing it. That's about all I've seen. I don't think he'll be doing anything with Nissan anymore unfortunately...

The guys are now Nismo Athletes... Jordan and Bryan were taken out of the team.

As for Jann, he's practicing with downforce cars for a future Nismo-Nissan LMP1.

F1 it's very difficult, my friend Felix da Costa who is hoping to enter next year, he has a lot of experience and talent, he's a red bull junior team driver and it doesn't get easy to enter the restrict number of F1 drivers... Don't see Jann blistering to F1 as fast as we think.

The press release said they dropped Jordan, didn't say anything about Bryan. Although we can assume he suffered the same fate after a single year. Shame, the guy has talent.

It really is a shame, and that's Nissan's fault for not taking the GTA seriously enough, Nissan needs to step up and come forward with a serious factory team in at least one major series outside of Super GT!

Oh they take it serious, everywhere except here it seems. If they're not going to really give the USA guys a chance, or if there is nowhere to put them afterwords, then what's the point?

Only Nissan and those inside the GTAcademy know how much talent each of their drivers have and given that Bryan is quite old they might feel it is a wasted investment to keep going forward with him, especially when they have younger, more marketable drivers like Jann at their disposal.

Then they should put an age cap on the competition. 💡

He's only 30, that's far from old. Paul Newman and many other drivers got their start way later in life (Dan Gurney?). Newman was in his mid 40s when he got into racing and he did really well.

It's that mindset that North Americans can't be good racers.

I guess it's that heavy NASCAR influence that ruins it for the ones that do want to race something else.

Well I don't know Bryan in person, but maybe it's because he didn't want to move to Europe?

Maybe because he did not put 110% in it? We all know that that the only one that has his place safe is Lucas, all the other's have to push hard... Look at Jordan, do you guys know why he was taken out? He is french, so the USA-Nascar theory doesn't match...

Why would Jordan being French have anything to do with it? :odd:

There's plenty of places for them to race here in the USA, Nissan just has to step up their game and support some teams over here. They had something going with Bryan and the 370Z team in the Continental Series, then it seems like they dropped their support all together after 2012. They had some bad luck, but the team was competitive and Bryan was doing great putting it on pole position at Indy then he was taken out by another car...

Last time I checked, France wasn't in North America.

I don't know why they dropped Jordan, but the lack of serious attention on the North American side of GT Academy is disappointing.

Maybe my English isn´t as correct as i needed...

What I was trying to say was that the USA-Nascar theory doesn't convince me because a non USA resident, the french Jordan, was also sent out the team...

I've some information about why they were sent out, but just can't talk about it...
