these pics r great!

I'm so happy i've found other people who have an intrest in the photomode!!
I actually signed up cause I wanted to enter it. Problem is, I don't know how to upload my photos.
If anyone could help or point me to a different forum, it would be much appreciated.

thanks

Well, I found out how to upload, so this is what I've come up with so far

Final entry

I am no where near skilled enough to get cars looking crisp and clean (1st timer to ps) so I went for the blurred effect (through photomode, not ps) - almost looks like a canvas painting.

yea...i'm starting to figure that out:crazy:
Can someone tell me what sort of shot is supposed to go into this comp? (whats 2.0?)
sorry
thanks

basically, It's meant for a shot that is taken in GT4 which is sharp, and well photographed. yours is like an artists painting. What is generally used in this competition is almost like a scientific result from many layers of PS activity.

It's the best i can describe it.

Just center the pic and you'll be ready to roll.

Oddly, something draws me to that shot. It's got a neat vibe to it. Unfortunately, it's much too abstract to be a winner in 2.0. If there was an artistic comp, then maybe...

Here's what I believe to be the easiest tutorial on the site to follow:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=2860852&postcount=630

Great for cleanup, but doesn't do blurs or anything.

i actually like it a lot, apart from the chromatic abberation, it's pretty much like the F1 magazine shots. i have a poster of an old brembo ad that looks like his entry 👍

not a problem 👍 i just don't get why some People are so narrow minded about entries and pictures that they see, that's not what photomode and photography is really about. it's funny how someone would say it won't win or not fit to be in this competition, when that person doesn't even have a winner himself.

yeh....i was just going for that look of speed with all the flames spitting out the back and the inward centre blur.
I thought cause it was a honda comp, i'd focus on the badge at the back

80Y, that is a really good shot. Very impressionistic. It just isn't meant for this specific competition.

WTF? Are you both serious? Can I ask what art is? Since when that photo is not meant for this competition? You must be kidding me right?

That definition is all wrong. You only got right the part that the shot is taken in GT4, but the rest is awfully wrong. This competition, and all others, are for you to describe your artistic side through GT4 photography. Art is subjective, is abstract. Every single photograph you see in this or other competitions are artistic, and are the way the author chose to express itself

Sure, when we say 2.0 style photo we see those super uber clean and sharp cars and PMC with those great blurred background, but that’s not the real essence, this is stereotyping something.

The real essence is for you to get artistic, but you can (in this case), in some way you see it fit, use some tools (list of tools/filters) on Photoshop, not obligatory.

👍 "invisible" +rep for this post.

Agreed with Lds there. Take me vs alexwrc for example. Alex is all about coming close to reality, making realistic shots. My shots, however, aren't anywhere near realistic. I'm on that artistic side with the drastic colouring, the heavy blurs, and the smudging. You dare calling my images realistic, and I'll blow a hole through your head

I think you mean seattle? More of a pmc shot, but a good one at that. I dig it.

 Thanks. I new it didn't sound right.:dunce: I know it's not worthy of 2.0, but I'm not taking any more shots for a while, and I'm not a honda fan, so I didn't have too many pictures on file. I was sooo desperate, I actually cropped out the miata that was in the original.

well I'm very sorry to have offended you all with my terribly narrowminded explanation, but that is what i see winning the 2.0 comps. maybe everyone has just found a good formula, and maybe 80Y is breaking ground, but I really haven't seen something like his shot win a comp since I've been here (not long, bit still).

Maybe you should all check your own selves, and what or who you vote for, before calling me or Skyline narrowminded? Last I checked, you guys make more shots than me, you enter more competitions than me, and you guys swing the trends of what is used more than me. If i am to be blamed for my definition of a good 2.0 shot, then you (the very guys I look up to when it comes to photomode) are to be blamed for making it that way.

I also hope you will all notice that i and skyline both liked 80Y's shot. I very much like it. it's a nice refresh from the norm in the 2.0 that I've seen around here.( IE: good colour, motion blur, sharp car, car cleaned, reflections added), but I simply do not think that it would win if we weren't having this conversation. it would be written off as "too blurry" or "not composed right" or some such friggin thing, when it really IS a quality shot.

80y, your shot looks good and new. I like it.:)👍 But just a word of advice, cropping out the watermark and adding a border can go a long way. Good luck in the poll.:)

Also, I absolutely love the shot. It's very interesting and I like the style. I just don't think it is the kind of shot that wins here. I'd like to see it win, but wins usually go to the same style of shot in 2.0 (see NTX's for that "ideal")

Without the watermark, I could easily vote for it, though.

yea but playing down someone's work is very unnecessary and can be bad for the comp and fellow participants alike. how would u like it if we said the same about you. okay, we vote and enter the typical (well, maybe not me) style all the time, but u never see us say that his or her entry wont do well before the polls come up. i respect the fact that you like his work or not, that's your opinion. but my point is don't play down the concept or his interpretation of the theme. whether it's a winner or not. that way we could encourage more members to join the comps:tup:

tupac: you're contradicting yourself again, i've seen a lot of good entries lose before, but no one ever said that such entry will lose before the poll came up. point of the matter is, you don't play down a loser publicly until it's over, and say that it's a quality piece of work. you never see a winner play down his opponent, neither should anyone.

both of you:

YOUshould have a look at your entry b4 saying something. same goes with skyline49. i think it's under the qualifications worthy of a single vote, but no one ever said anything right? so be careful what u right to prevent repercussions. thanks 👍 like u said, we entered more comps than you, so you probably saw our comments in the threads. not once did we ever call an entry a loser in the public threads, so i really don't understand how i or the top guys are to blame. next time do your home work.

It has happened many, many times. If that gets ignored because you don't like me, then whatever. I'll remove my entry and never come back.

thats not what i meant bud. of course i like to have u here. i was just making an example :( if it's happened to you then you should know better. i experienced that before too, even in a real life photo comp and it bites. a lot. thats why i said what i said in the earlier post but im not mad at anyone, just saying what i think is all 👍
