I'd like to know how you did the miraculous lap.

Yeah as I said I dont have any video cameras that are powerful enough to record a psp screen

Certainly you've got a card reader or a USB cable. Uploading the ghost data is a no-brainer here.

P.S. It's my birthday! Maybe Yavy will have a gift for me to beat by the time I'm off work. :D If not, I'm going to upload my 1'36.8 ghost and call it a day for this challenge... had a lot of fun with this one.

But it also took me about 50 laps (Just from Today, Not since the challenge started) to get this time when it took you 27.

Just wanted to clarify this... that was 27 laps of racing my 1'37.1 ghost. It took me several dozen laps to make it down to 1'37.5 despite that being a very scruffy lap, and several more to take that down to 1'37.1... beyond that, I knew I had only 2 corners that could be done any better--the first and last chicanes--and I figured at most they'd make up between 2 and 3 tenths... and when I finally put the whole lap together, that's what I got... 1'36.8... absolutely as low as I could possibly go without cutting... this is braking as late as possible into the first corner with as much exit speed as possible, braking just right for the first chicane to maintain as much speed as possible through the right-hander and up the hill, then getting as much exit speed as possible out of the sharp left-hander, then absolutely destroying the last chicane with no loss of traction and enough exit speed for me to hit 228 km/h at the finish.

It's possible you've found a better line through one of the corners, but I'll have my doubts until I see the ghost. Waiting for Yavy's input on this one... he knows that a 1'36.9 is a VERY fast legit lap, a 1'36.8 is right at the limit... but a 1'36.6... that's the kind of time I'd pull if I cut the first chicane on a good lap, or ran a mediocre lap and cut the last chicane.

Just saying... very interested to see what your ghost could possibly be doing to make up so much time.

Running a 2-lap race on the Test Course, even at D rank, should give you enough money to buy the 2CV. I think it costs less than 20k.

1'39.731 I know I could be faster, but I made small mistakes that cost me alot on a track like fuji. :(

just a small sample of things to come in season 2. a new and improved structure for time attacks. more race cars including the Ferrari F1 2007 ( might want to start saving for this because this will def. be in the second season). more member choice challenges. still working out the details but should be done by C12.

Ok, I came home and lapped with my 1'36.8 ghost. I stayed half a car-length ahead for nearly a whole lap on 3 occasions until the last chicane. Even if I took the chicane very well and stayed ahead, the ghost would continue to slowly creep up around the corner and pass me before the finish. It would be possible for me to beat it, but only by the slightest margin. Hundredths.

@Genesisfury:

If you can't post your ghost data, can you at least watch your replay and post the split times? Each time that pops up in the top middle of the screen for a moment as you pass through the divided sectors of the track. Would you please post those times?

a heated debate. to be honest, there isn't an excuse for not being able to upload your ghost data via usb to PC or mac and uploading it to a website. I am also waiting for this to be posted as well to see the difference in the lines between Glubags and Genesisfury.

1:38.515

Thanks for the tip, niigaki.
I'll try again at lunch time (its GMT +8hrs here in Manila) and see if I can lower it further.

Btw, the Citroen costs cr21,000.

P.S.
Happy Birthday Glubags!

imo, I think its only fair not to count Genesisfury's lap if he isn't able to show proof that no shortcuts were made.

I agree with you Psp88, only thing its not in the rules. But then again if Genesisfury doesn't want to upload his replay save to prove himself then w/e. I don't see what the problem is unless you took a shortcut. But this should be the end of this debate since he hasn't said anything about.

Anywho tomorrow is the last day for C5, and Glubags has setup C6 for us since he is leading us in points. Please make sure to submit your times correctly to get put on the board. If you haven't seen the setup we will be using for C6, please be sure to read the first page of the thread. Thanks!

Edit.

Something I forgot to mention, please make sure that you guys are doing your best to try to get into the top 5. As a bonus, the top 5 players from Season One will be able to pick car and track setups for us in Season Two. There isn't any limitations on what cars you guys can choose. One thing does come to mind though, we haven't even touched a dirt or snow course yet....

oh sweet, just hit 1'37.699. ill upload the picture later tonight.

Oops, I got mixed up on the day. Tonight is the final night for C5. Please note if your time is not posted, you will not get credit. Remember 11pm PST is the final cut off time. Please note that C6 car and track selection is on the first page.

Times are also updated!

Edit.

I do plan on starting this up during GT5 is released.

I just copy the ghost data to my PSP. but can't found the reply in game.
how to load your data? do I need rename the file name?

no need to rename the file.
unzip the file & extract the content/folder where the other replays & saved data files are (PSP\SAVEDATA).

@ psp88

I meant when GT5 comes out, I would like to host a Time Attack challenge as well. It's 8:14pm right now.

wow Cottees, can you send me a message and teach me how you recorded your video to be so clear. I watched a couple of videos that people recorded but I don't know what they used but he quality was so bad. Very choppy and slow fps.

Here's my final time for this annoying track lol. I got 1'36.771. Happy Birthday to Glubags couldn't break the record in time 👍.
